Just a waste of time and effort

I am an avid film-goer. In fact,I make it a point to view the latest, as well as some vintage films. I have had the opportunity of reviewing films for several magazines and newspapers throughout the country.I believe I know bad when I see it, and I know a gem when I see one. This one is more like a lump of coal. I saw this movie a while back at an audience preview. It was actually "released" in 1993. Sorry to say It is just awful.A Tale Of Two Pizzas is a totally amateurish waste of time effort and film stock, ranging from its

plot(Who makes a better Pizza? no one, really, its actually about love) to the uneducated style of direction, to the awful, sampled music, some of it in an Italian Tarantella genre( which sounds more like bad advertising music. Better just go out to any pizza restaurant , and spend your money on food, rather than waste it on an insult to the arts such as this one. This pizza leaves a bad taste in my mouth Deb.H.

Charm....... with a little grated cheese

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING "A TALE OF TWO PIZZAS":

Take (1) spoof of Shakespeare's 'Romeo & Juliet' (what if the Capulet and Montague families were in battle over a pizza recipe???)

Add a bunch of Italian seasoning (the credits read like a menu from Valentino's on Bronx River Road)

Add some Capicola ('Soprano' veterans Vincent Pastore and Frank Vincent hamming it up in a delightful way)

Mix in some fresh vegetables(Robin Paul and Conor Dubin are charming in the roles of the youngsters caught up in Great Pizza Wars)

And the parmigiana on this lasagna is the fine soundtrack with vocals by Freddy King plus fun & fitting animation that ties the whole thing up nicely.

An obvious labor of love from director Vinnie Sassone (you expected another name?) that delivers the film that you say "they don't make anymore". A fun, charming comedy in the style of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". Sit back, relax, have some fun, then go eat some pasta.

    This movie is awesome.

This movie was spectacular. On a scale of 1 to 100 i give it a 101. My favorite actor in this movie is Frankie. He is so funny, I nearly fell out of my chair watching this movie. I hope he does more movies like this one. Also my family says that this movie deserves an A+ for it's comedy and romance. I hope you all enjoy the movie as much as my family did. If you don't than tell your friends about it and maybe they will like it. The movie is a real show stopper please watch it today or tomorrow or whenever you have time and don't forget the popcorn and soda. You'll feel like you're in a theater or watching pay per view, but this movie is much much better than a theater or pay per view alone. Please watch more movies like this!

    Total waste of celluloid

On every level of film-making you can think of, this so-called film didn't rate on any of them.

The plot was so hackneyed and cliché-ridden that you could plot the entire course of the movie in the first two minutes.

The camera-work was truly terrible - all tight head shots and using no visual pizazz whatsoever.

The actors probably did the best they could with stereotyped characters drawn straight out of some computer combo of West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet.

The worst thing about this film? The central motif is that you apparently need love to make a great pizza. This film had no love in it, and for a film that's ostensibly about great pizza to leave you with no desire to eat pizza is one hell of a neat trick.

Avoid this film. At. All. Costs.

    Viewed special screening

I viewed a special screening of this film and was impressed with the all star cast that this independent film produced. It is a typical romantic comedy, but it will definitely keep your attention. I am not a big fan of romantic comedies, but I enjoyed this film. Look out for it in 2k3.
