    One of a Kind

Yes truly in its own league of mediocrity. The actors Nick Stahl, Amber Benson, etc persuaded me to rent this film. The script is horrendous and I believe that is why (hopefully) January Jones' character was stone-like. Very cliched that is not funny, suspenseful, or believable. Not the worst film ever but a film that most of these actors will chuckle about or hide in shame when they get older. This film is destined for oblivion. Oh well you win some and lose some.

Awful, Dreadful, Very Bad, Terrible, Horrendous – A Crap!

The name of Nick Stahl, the young cast and the attractive cover of the VHS made me buy and watch this flick, expecting to see a good teen slash movie. What a crap! The full of clichés screenplay, the dialogs and the performances are awful, dreadful, very bad, terrible, horrendous – summarizing, a complete waste of time. There is no horror, black humor, only an absolutely boring story, with shameful plot points. The film begins with six characters, indeed three couples, together like a group of friends, but indeed very nasty persons that seems to be enemies, playing a ridiculous senseless game called "Taboo", and with each one of them writing yes or no for certain taboo issues. That is it: no previous development of the characters, the viewer does not know who they are, their motives and relationship. Then, there is an ellipsis to one year later, and the same group is gathered together in a New Years Eve party, insulting each other in a very sordid way. But the plot and the twists are so ridiculous, predictable, mediocre and unbelievable that do not deserve any additional line in my review. One advice only: do not waste your time or money on this garbage, you will certainly regret. My vote is one (awful).

Title (Brazil): "Taboo – Jogando Com o Assassino" ("Taboo – Playing With the Killer")

    TERRIBLE

Wow it's ironic since this movie has been out for awhile I think that someone else JUST reviewed it a couple days ago.

Anyways, I watched this movie simply because it has Nick Stahl, for the record.

The movie was ridiculous. The characters drove me INSANE, they were SO Cliché and STEREOTYPED. This movie had some of the worst dialogue I have ever heard. It had way too many plot twists too.

There is ONE scene in the movie worth seeing however, the scene: "Warm heart, cold gun" where Nick Stahl kills the obnoxious girl in the shower. (Well, actually they were all obnoxious.) But his acting in that scene was excellent. The look on his face, it reminded my of American Psycho (a good movie). The scene is worth seeing but not worth seeing the rest of the movie for, do yourself a favor and don't watch it.

Good cast don't even redeem tedious 'Taboo'

Taboo (2002) Nick Stahl, January Jones, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Lori Heuring, Derek Hamilton, Amber Benson, D: Max Makowski.

A game about desires and secrets brings out the worst in six young people holed up in a secluded mansion on New Year's Eve with one of them a rapist, a homosexual, an infidel, a prostitute, and a hypocrite, and soon their little game breaks out into murder.

Meant to be clever, but no one in their right mind could rightfully compare this to Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians. Underneath is an appalling thriller hampered by clichéd characters, dull story turns, and ultimately, a terrible script that runs short on interest. Filmed in Romania and taken place all in someone's house. Direct-to-video.

Running Time: 80 minutes and rated R for some language, sexual content, and violence.

    Utterly terrible

This has to be one of the worse movies I have ever seen... trailing closely behind Cruel Intentions 2. How was this movie ever made? Some very honorable actors wasted their time and talent in this so-called movie. Why would Nick Stahl and Eddie Kay Thomas agree to star in such a horrible movie? First of all, there was no time to build up the plot.... people started dying first thing.. and the emotionless Elizabeth didn't help at all. Usually when you find dead bodies of your friends in your house, you have some sort of feeling. She clad same stone face throughout the entire movie... Finally, there were so many wierd twists in the movie it was hard to follow...Were the friends dead or not? Was Christian good or insane? Give me a break here. Don't waste your time or money on this movie.

Benjamin: Question: Would you sleep with a minor? Answer: yes. Let's begin our slide into the moral abyss.

      Katie: Oh! Naughty naughty.

Adam: Aw, shit, I, for one, had sex before I was fourteen. I don't see what the big deal is.

Benjamin: Really. I didn't think that they had altar boys in the, uh, the Jewish faith.

Elizabeth: [hurriedly trying to deflect any animosity] Okay, Piper, your turn.

Piper: Question: Would you sleep with a person of the same sex? Answer: yes.

Christian Turner: What a great game to play with our best friends.

Adam: Yeah, fuck Taboo. Let's have an orgy, huh?

Elizabeth: Or enroll in group therapy.

Benjamin: Well, maybe you need new friends.

Piper: Well, actually? We all seem pretty well suited for each other, so far.

Elizabeth: [looks at Adam] Your turn.

Adam: All right, the question is: Would you have a threesome? The answer is yes.

Christian Turner: Two girls and one guy, right?

      Piper: Does it matter?

Katie: Well, Mr. Right Wing Conservative over there looks like he might think two girls might be fun. Huh?

[Piper, his current girlfriend, looks at him worriedly]

Elizabeth: Okay, my turn. Question: Would you have sex for money? Answer: yes.

      [She looks at Katie]

Katie: I like sex, okay? That does not make me a hooker. At least it doesn't make me a bitch.

      Benjamin: That's my baby.

Katie: Question. Mmm. Would you sleep with your partner's best friend? Answer? A very disappointing no.

Christian Turner: Wow. There's one good person amongst us sinners.

Katie: Christian. Pardon me, but don't you have to be a lot fatter and less educated to be part of the Christian coalition?

Christian Turner: So says the prep school anarchist.

Katie: Ah. No, no no. See, I am just a shallow, materialistic party girl, and at least I don't pretend to believe in principles.
