Once again, The Legend of Zelda series puts Link in another huge, puzzling adventure with one dungeon after another.
However, this never gets repetitive. Majora's Mask could possibly be one of the best Zelda games ever, surpassed only by Link's Awakening. First of all, I've got to mention the immenseness of this game.
Although the game centers solely around just three days, there are so many things you, as Link, can do. Everything is timed perfectly. What you do one day will affect what happens the next for better or for worse. Everyone will always be at one certain place at one certain time. Nothing is random in this game, which makes it perfect for a time-traveling adventure. Everything is positioned according to time.
The graphics also jump a step higher than Ocarina of Time's, keeping out glitches that nearly killed Ocarina of Time.
The music is also really great. Koji Kondo put a lot more effort into this game than Ocarina of Time. I bought the soundtrack to Ocarina of Time, which was a waste of money since the music was really low. I got Majora's Mask's soundtrack for free with a subscription and expected it to be like Ocarina of Time's, but I was amazed at how movie-like some of it gets. For the record, I got the soundtrack before I got the game.
The game, although it only has four dungeons, is not short at all. A lot of time will be spent running through Clock Town as a Deku Scrub at the beginning.
Like all puzzle games, frustrating points pop up frequently, like trying to reach Snowhead Mountain, for example. This game could have been better if it was maybe a bit easier in some points.
If you get the chance, you should really try this game out. It is unlike any Zelda game you have ever seen. Also, check out the soundtrack if you ever find it.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time defined a generation of gaming, becoming perhaps the definitive fantasy adventure game. The story, soundtrack, and gameplay are phenomenal, and there's a reason the game is still highly regarded to this day. However, one of the most surprising things about Ocarina of Time is that its' sequel managed to be just as good, and perhaps even better.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is a very surreal experience, with a darker feel than it's predecessor, and a wildly unique story. I have yet to find another game in which the gameplay, story, atmosphere, and soundtrack all blend perfectly. The world feels alive in ways no other game I've played does. And when you consider the rushed develop time, it's amazing the game is as good as it is.
While debate can (and will) rage on as to the best games of all time, Majora's Mask earns a spot on that list, just as it's predecessor did. I freely admit that it is my personal favorite video game of all time, and it's well worth a look by any gamer.

This has to be the best computer game that i have ever played on any format. The storyline is brilliant and the gameplay is supurb. This game will take ages to complete and theres so much to do in order for the game to be completed. The only dissapointing thing about this game is that there is no fishing mini game like in ocarina of time but still the other mini games more then make up for this. This is the best game ever and i cant wait for the new Zelda game on the gamecube.

I loved The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, and thought it was a masterpiece when it came out. And yes, the Ocarina of Time is and deserves to be recognized as a wholly masterful video game classic. I'd heard people call it the 'Star Wars' of video games. I agree with that as well. But, with every 'Star Wars', there is an 'Empire Strikes Back'.
And this was it. Majora's Mask is not only as good as Ocarina of Time, it's better with a deeper, darker, more emotional storyline, fun masks, while keeping the already masterful gameplay engine from Ocarina of Time. The people saying that Ocarina of Time is better have probably never played it, or thought it was too hard due to its unique 3-day time limit mechanic.
Which brings me to its next plus point: the difficulty. Boy, was this game difficult. But, it was far from unplayable. Plus, isn't difficulty what makes Zelda games so awesome? I mean, look at the original Zelda game for the NES. That game's actually harder than this.
Overall, Majora's Mask is one of the best games in N64, as well as one of the greatest games in general. In my opinion, it's the single best Zelda game, beating Ocarina of Time by an inch. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. Oh, and it's also one that has some of the most iconically creepy moments in video game history. An example:-
"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" - Happy Mask Salesman.

Excellant game! This Zelda title takes Ocarina Of Time's engines further: Time never stops, even when you're in a dungeon, and the Three Day repeating aspect really makes this game quite differant from the other Zelda Games.
But, several classic favorites return to this game, such as the full classic Zelda theme, rehashed into more of an action peice then a march, and a lot of favorates from Ocarina of Time, such as the shooting gallery, and your trusty steed, Epona. you can use your bow and Arrow while riding her, and this time, the main feild is full of enemies. perfect for target practice. The music is not quite as involving as before, but it is still a pretty good game.

- Alternate versionsIn this game's original Japanese version, there were three save files. However, the only time when players could save their games was when they played the Song of Time to warp back to the beginning of the three-day cycle. When the English version of Majora's Mask was being developed, Nintendo added an interrupt-save feature, which would not actually save the data permanently (as playing the Song of Time would), but instead kept the in-progress data in memory until the next time the file was opened. Due to space restrictions, however, this feature forced Nintendo to remove one of the save files for the English-language release, making it the first and perhaps last Zelda game to feature only two save files rather than the traditional three.
