    gone but not forgotten

George Carlin's recent death made me decide to watch some of his old stuff. "On Location: George Carlin at Phoenix" is a real classic. Talking about death, time and of course the Seven Dirty Words, George gives it his all; to top it off, he even shows some pictures of himself as a boy (while giving joke commentary) and has his wife come out onto the stage.

All in all, George Carlin may have left this life, but his memory and humor are here to stay. I sure hope that they stay. I guess that as long as things are really screwed up in our society, there will always be plenty of room for the likes of Carlin.

    In conclusion, a comedy classic.

    Still fresh today....and hysterical

Very funny comedy from the guy who does it best. Done in 1978, but the only thing dated about it are his pants. Famous 7 words you can't say on television bit (although some of them you can now....thanks to NYPD Blue) went on to become an underground hit for Blink 182. Also great pieces about the measures of time....and flatulence. Yes George, we did "live to see it"....thank goodness.

Here's to the "One cheek sneak."

    Weird and funny stuff

This is George's second comedy special and he has new comedy and old comedy. A lot of it revolves around his "micro-world", which are the little things like objects on your body, little observations, pets, etc. He switches it up with a lot of new and old comedy which is refreshing, and it's shot on film in some part which is a change of pace. I enjoyed watching stuff I hadn't seen Carling do yet (I just heard the bits on the albums). Here, he does the Seven words you can never say on television, Al Sleet (the "Hippy Dippy weatherman") and many others. Random thoughts from a man could never be better unless they came from George Carlin. And this proves it. A+

    • Trivia
This special was originally a proposed concert film titled "The Illustrated George Carlin". It was to feature animated segments interspersed with Carlin's stand-up. But Carlin ran over budget and the segments were discarded. Carlin eventually used this idea in George Carlin: Carlin on Campus (1984).
    • Quotes

George Carlin: Even the word cocksucker itself has been twisted out of all its original meaning. It's been distorted; for some reason, now "COCKSUCKER!" means "bad man". It's a good woman. How did they do that?
