    The Mascot

In Marine Battleground Jock Mahoney plays a war correspondent who finds an intriguing story from Nurse Pat Yi. She's a dedicated anti-communist and Mahoney gets the whole story.

Back during the Korean War Ni's whole family iskilled by the invading north. The Koreans in this Marine company make her a mascot and she tells of their times together the good and the bad right up to when Koreans made a last ditch stand. very few come away from this battle.

This was a sincere effort. Sadly between combat scenes it's dull as dishwater. The film could have used better direction.

    For war film fans only.

    See it for the cinematography

Clumsy drama doesn't negate the remarkable b&w look of this film. There is a credible authority in this production.
