I've been watching this show for a few years now, and is it ever loaded with great information. Intertwined with comedy and a lot of commercial parody's, this show is great. Watch it for the information, or watch it for the comedy, either way this show is fantastic and unique.
Growing up in the late 90's and early 00's was an interesting time when the world started changing exponentially with the immersion of digital everything. This show was an incredible influence to its audience and left us as more aware and informed young adults on our way into the ever changing void of what comes next. Calling out how advertisers used their tricks or legal jargon far too small to read on the old grainy tube tvs we all had and flashing on the screen for 2 seconds at most. They combed it all, presented it to the targeted audience and undid a lot of standard media twists to show us reality vs presentation. Marketplace was the adult version and they did / do fantastic investigative reporting and solve real life problems. That's what street cents did for the younger audience, protected us all. The cast was excellent, the writers, staff, journalists, I personally thank you for all of your work on this incredible series that sometimes gets forgotten by some, but remembered by all when it gets brought up at a kitchen party and it's maximum nostalgia. You taught us how to save money, watch for terms and conditions that could ruin what little credit we had, best places to buy things, and best things to buy or invest in. You were always there to protect, inform, and entertain us. You did. I personally feel you were never given as much respect as you deserved and earned with each episode, but know there are many of us still out here with your words of wisdom echoing through our minds and living better lives as kinder humans (that admittedly now require glasses to see the large print and most definitely the fine). Thank you all.
