very entertaining and much more interesting to watch than the movies

I found Mortal Kombat Conquest to be a much more entertaining series than any of the movies. The plot is created in such a way that it allows the underlying story to evolve over multiple series and not be resolved in a mere 120 minutes like the movies. It is much more interesting to watch because of its myriad of different storylines. In addition, there are many more hot looking scantily dressed gals in the series, which is also a plus. Just love the redhead Taja played by Kristanna Loken. However, I never knew that people were so glamorous and fashionably dressed in ancient times, oh well!

MKC was a cool show! It should have lasted longer!

MKC was an excellent series. I never saw the first couple of episodes because i never knew it was on. When i found out i go hooked on it. But, I agree with some of on the fact that Kung Lao character should have been a little bit stronger. His meant to be the champion and leader. Jeffery Meek is an excellent actor the 2 roles he played were excellent. So were Taja, Siro, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. The ending of the series was superb. It would have made for an excellent second season. New characters could have been added and what really happened to Rayden, Kung Lao and his gang could have been explained. And who the untouchable black cloaked guys were. You cant kill them. It's been along time since i saw the series so I've forgotten what they were.

    A great conversion.

Despite the disappointing beginnings, this series really picks up speed for a thrilling finale which certainly left me a bit stunned.

At the start of the series it seemed this was just another lame TV program which would be cancelled after five shows; the fight scenes and Taja were the only things which kept your interest while the stories tailed off half way through. However the more episodes you saw, more characters were added and as the acting improved, so did the plots.

By the end Conquest had made up for both the early episodes and the awful Annihilation. The only questions that remain are as to whether there will be another series and just why Taja was hardly ever involved in the fights after an impressive first bout.

As good as could be expected.

Excellent character development & realism in fight scenes

This is probably the best of the video game to TV adaptation that I've seen. Threshold did an excellent job in the way that they mixed the gaming element: characters such as Kung Lao, Rayden, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Shang Tsung, and even the legendary Noob Saibot... with the movie elements, bringing new characters such as Taja, Vorpax, and Siro just to name a few. Perhaps one of the greatest aspects is the true fighting skill the actors, actresses, and in some cases, stunt doubles, display. This isn't the old "Biff" "Pow" type episode. It is very well-done martial arts being displayed, and quite energizing to watch! Congrats on a job well done!

    This was a good series!

I am a very big Mortal Kombat fan. I love both movies and I thought this series was a good one. Back when this on TV I was a huge wrestling fan (I am not happy with today's wrestling but I still love the classic WWF & WCW days back in the 80s & early 90s) and I'd watch this right after WCW's Monday Nitro show. Mortal Kombat: Conquest had good actors and actresses which included the beautiful Kristanna Loken which her character looked so good looking and neat in this series. Fans of Terminator 3 should check her out because she is very good in this. There was notable good acting by the other cast members Bruce Locke, Daniel Bernhardt, Jeffrey Meek, Tracy Douglas, Paolo Montalban, and others. There was even guest stars in some good roles such as Eva Mendes and WCW's Bryan Clarke of Kronic (WWF's Adam Bomb) in some episodes. The series had some big time potential but it didn't air long on television. If you are able to watch this series and if you love Mortal Kombat then watch it!

Premiered 3 years after the Mortal Kombat (1995) film, which the TV series is a prequel.
    • Goofs
Throughout the show you can see the actors doubling for Kung Lao and see them clearly doing his moves, and it is very obvious that the actors playing him are not Paolo Montalban.

Announcer: In each of us there burns the soul of a warrior. In every generation, a few are chosen to prove it. Centuries ago, in a time of darkness and fury, that fate befell three strangers: a monk, Kung Lao... an exiled guard, Siro... and a thief, Taja, who have to defend our Earthrealm from the forces of Outworld by fighting for their lives by fighting for their honor and by fighting for their realm in a tournament called... Mortal Kombat.
