Above average tv movie delivers the goods

Nice to see a tv movie that can actually generate suspense and tension rather than make you reach for the remote in boredom.

Some decent acting, plenty of sharp dialogue, with kudos to Chris Noth, Martin Sheen and Vincent Spano.

I don't generally give tv movies the time of day, but this grabbed my interest and held me there for three hours solid. It was great to see it all in one go with no commercial breaks, the time really did fly by - pardon the pun!

Despite one or two moments that stretch the plausibility factor, if you like a good political thriller, this is definitely worthy of your time.

    Action - Packed Techno thriller

Very good mini series, what a shame it is only for television audiences. Will love to have it on DVD. The plot is excellent. As the other movie from John Nance (Pandora's Clock) this one doesn't stay behind and for sure hits the spot light.

What ever rights habe ABC on this series, this one should be on VHS and DVD right away, all audiences have the right for it !!!

The fans of action movies will love this one

I'm still wondering what made me decide to watch this movie. Just by reading the title, I already had my doubts about the fact whether this would a movie for me or not. But on the other hand, I've also been surprised by several movies that I believed to be awful and that actually were very good. Anyway, I kept an open mind towards it and gave it a try, hoping for the best ... which never really came.

Because he is still furious about the fact that his wife Vivian has left him and because the government has stopped the project he was working on, the crazy nuclear scientist Rogers Henry has been working on a gruesome plan to take revenge on everyone who he hates. He has continued the development of Medusa, a thermonuclear bomb capable of generating a continent-sized electro-magnetic pulse, capable of effectively destroying a computer-based society like the USA. He asks Vivian to accompany a transport with a 'prototype' of the bomb to the Pentagon. In reality it's a full working bomb, that will detonate in the middle of the Pentagon and that has been rigged so it will explode before its count-down if Vivian's pacemaker isn't within fifteen feet of it. But the crew of the airplane has discovered the horrible plan in time and the entire situation gives them only two options: either they try to cope with the situation themselves, either they die together with the bomb. All they know for sure is that they will have to save as many people as possible...

If you are a fan of the average action movie, than I'm sure that you'll love it, no doubt about that. But when you are, like me for instance, not such a fan of these movies, than you'll find it quite annoying. Annoying, not only because the acting isn't worth all that much, but also because the story is far from original and to be honest very unbelievable. And to make things worse: It uses about every possible cliché a movie in this genre can have. A mad scientist; the foolish military leaders who will do everything to get the bomb, even if that means that many people will die; an honest president;... You'll not be spared of any of them.

I know that there are many people who like this movie and that's fine by me. As I already said, if you are a fan action movies: watch and enjoy, you'll love it. But when you aren't all that keen on action movies, than I suggest you leave it alone and try to find something else. I should have picked the second option, although I must admit that it wasn't even the worst I've ever seen. I give this movie a 5.5/10.

    Excellent heart-stopping suspense action-packed mini-series

This excellent 2 part mini-series revolves around the Medusa project. A nuclear bomb created to kill millions of people as well as destroy all electricity in the US including crashing all computers. The creator's ex-wife is to deliver to the Pentagon what she believes is only a mock of the bomb but the real thing is on board the plane & is set to detonate if moved or defused. The mini series stars Lori Loughlin, Gail O'Grady, Vincent Spano, and Kevin Dillon. For a mini-series it's filled with top-notch actors, excellent dialogue, great direction, and terrific special effects. From start to finish, Medusa's Child keeps you on the edge of your seat & doesn't let up until the closing credits.

    Incredibly stupid plot

Loved the really stupid comment about "earth warming causing the present hurricane to have greater power than regular hurricane". Honest to God is there no better talent in writing than to waste it on something so bad?

An underwater nuclear explosion would not cause an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). EMP occurs when the pressure wave from a high-altitude blast forces molecules in the upper atmosphere previously charged with electricity to discharge it. An underwater burst would also not produce a fireball above the surface but instead would produce an enormous cloud of water vapor.
