    Bizarre Movie

I really wanted to like this movie, I love Australian Indie flicks. But honestly, it's not that funny. If you like American in-your-face and crude humour, then you might like this.

There's a lot of constant camera angle changes to go along with the constant 'action scenes'. It's likely to induce seizures in some people. Some of the action in the movie doesn't even ave any purpose or sense - and as a result, character development is slow and poor. Some of the characters are even likeable and the acting itself is great, but it's like the writers of the movie were trying way too hard to be funny and 'out there'.

    Aussie humour at its best!

This movie is perhaps my favourite Aussie film of all time! I remember growing up watching it and there wasn't a scene where I didn't have the full blown belly laugh. This is Australian humour at its best!! I recently looked for it on DVD and was deeply saddened to hear it has been discontinued. Searched on ebay and there are copies going for $100+ and I would easily pay that! It really is hilarious! And I don't understand those who say any different!! I LOVE this film!!! Every scene had something funny going on and really show the classic Aussie stereotypes!! Really good story line and fantastic actors!!

I couldn't help but notice how the only bad review about this movie came from London, England and as much as they think they may understand our Aussie humour and judge it from that, they clearly don't!! The other reviews, all great and all from Aussies. I spose its one just for us!! But classic Aussie humour, lots of stupid but witty sarcasm and full of the Aussie slang!! Defo one for the favo list!

    What a Pearler!!!

23 years on I just watched Crackers for the first time and absolutely Cracked up on numerous occasions. Not only was it funny it's a great reflection on how life was here in Aussie. It took me back to my childhood and the many Christmas's were family got together and despite our differences we all some how managed to get on.

23 years too late but well done to all those involved in making this great movie.

    Ha! and more Ha!

Don't let a weak title and unimaginative video cover fool you! This movie is solid and exceptionally funny - belly achingly funny in places.

Tenseness surrounds the Christmas Lunch at the parent's place. A divorced daughter has brought her new lover. Dad is not impressed. Everyone is on edge. An unwelcomed and rogue-larrikin (great) Grandfather (Warren Mitchell) also arrives. His great grandson is taught new lessons in life. The family barbecue is absolutely side splitting!

A very comical and credible script makes this movie a great treat. I would rate all performances as very strong. It doesn't have to be Christmas for you to watch and enjoy this movie.....it could well relate to any family reunion. I would rate this movie 8 out of 10.

An hilariously funny twisted Christmas tale

This tale of a dysfunctional family coming together to share the Christmas spirit is fantastically funny and very heart rending at the same time. It has a message and brings it across well without getting mawkishly sentimental. The humour is very 'pi**take' Australlian but most people will get the message. Warren Mitchell is superb in his role and the supporting cast are all good. You'll laugh and cry and go off with sore stomach muscles. Watch out for the video camera holiday footage from the chookshed!

I first saw this movie on a long distance coach trip to spend Christmas with my partner's dysfunctional family, which made it all the funnier!
