Boy, does running across this title sure bring back memories

I haven't seen this show for years. In fact, I don't think there would any way to now. Unless I decided to go searching through the TVO vaults (if they even let me). I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid, along with other such classics as The Edison Twins, and Read-Along, that one with the moose and the beaver, although I forget what it was called. Oh man, I wish all those old shows were on. I would love to get re-aquainted with my youth (as much as possible, anyway).

A Canadian classic, I love this show

Dear Aunt Agnes was produced in 1985 and was one of TV Ontario's shows. Dear Aunt Agnes is about 65 year old Aunt to Alex (Mya Rimon) and Andrew (Bradley Phillips). Aunt Agnes is called by her sister to take care of her children while she takes a job position in another country. At first, Alex and Andrew are resentful of this, but soon learn more responsibility in life and adapt to their new surroundings. Dear Aunt Agnes target audience is ages 8 to 12 and addresses everyday issues such as fair and unfair and befriending a dying hermit which would bring out the value of friendship.

For those of you who have ever had to live with an annoying relative or friend, you'll understand and love this show so much.

The show was filmed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the house exterior was filmed at 121 Crescent Road, Toronto. Dear Aunt Agnes depicts life issues that are still current today. I really like this show and wish it was still on TV today.

One of THE best Canadian TV shows - EVER!

I have several favorite Canadian shows, but Dear Aunt Agnes starring Heather Conkie and "Yes You Can" with Kevin Gillis are at the top of the list, followed by Don Adams' "Check It Out" and Bruno Gerussi's "Beachcombers". For variety series, it is the great John Allan Cameron and the Cape Breton Symphony in his 1975 series on CTV.

My kids were born around the time "Dear Aunt Agnes" ran, but even as teenagers today, they love the show. I almost feel as if I know every nook and cranny of house # 121 in which Agnes, Alex, Andrew & Gary lived. Such a warm, wonderful feeling to watch that great cast, the house, and the great moral values and life lessons presented. The show is timeless.

We saw Alex and Andrew grow up in front of our eyes. I wish there were more episodes, and that they would come back in reruns for a new generation. Thankfully, I have most of the episodes of this FABULOUS show! It's a shame one does not see shows of such caliber anymore:(

I would LOVE to know where the cast is and what they are doing. My fondest wish is to see a return of the show as a weekly series, or at the least, as a reunion episode. Come on TV Ontario, Access, or CBC...

Good family show geared for children.

I remember watching this on TVO in Toronto. Really quite an excellent show for being produced on a shoestring budget. Good writing and storylines.
