The ultimate evil of "Breaking Bad" is our antihero, Walter White/Heisenberg (Bryan Cranston). But if anyone can match him and (almost) overcome him, it's drug lord Gustavo "Gus" Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). A Chilean immigrant with a mysterious personal history, Gus wears the smiling face of the friendly, charitable fried chicken chain Los Pollos Hermanos — but that's just a mask, plastered over a ruthless master criminal. Then buried even further beneath Gus' iciness is vengeful rage; he's not only in the meth business for the money, but to eventually kill the cartel leadership that long ago murdered his boyfriend Max (James Martinez).
Due to the success of "Breaking Bad" and typecasting, Gus is the character who Esposito will be playing for the rest of his career, whether his name is Stan Edgar ("The Boys"), Moff Gideon ("The Mandalorian"), or literally Gus Fring again.
Aside from his two-faced death scene in...

Psych is known for its comedic take on the police procedural, normally focusing on the funny side of crime in Santa Barbara. But some episodes trekked deeper into the horror genre, creating some truly terrifying stories over the course of Psych's eight seasons.
Taking a Scooby-Doo approach to mysteries, Psych reveals monsters to be mere humans by the end of its stories. However, the show uses Shawn's performance of psychic powers to explore the possibilities of paranormal phenomena in real life. Many of the show's creepiest episodes blur the line between reality and supernatural, creating spine-chilling and suspenseful episodes.
Shawn and Gus Visit a Spooky Summer Camp Season 3, Episode 15: "Tuesday the 17th"
Shawn and Gus are contacted by their childhood friend, Jason, to investigate the disappearance of one of his employees. Jason has just bought Camp Tikihama, a campsite rumored to be cursed, and needs Shawn and Gus...

In the era of too much TV, when shows aren't given enough episodes to develop their characters or settle into a good rhythm, it's easy to forget that not long ago, we were living in a new golden age of TV shows. One series that helped define much of this era was "Breaking Bad," the show that was initially turned down by many networks before ultimately becoming one of the most celebrated and acclaimed TV shows of all time.
Across 62 episodes, the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher whose terminal cancer diagnosis prompts him to start a life of crime and become a meth kingpin, captivated audiences and only got bigger as the era of streaming kicked into overdrive. For five seasons, we followed Walter's rise to power, the lies he told to his family and friends, and the many, many bodies that hit the floor in his wake.

Sweet Tooth Season 3 ended with Gus saving the world, leaving room for a potential sequel or spinoff if fans and Netflix want it. A sequel could explore Gus' legacy, his descendants, and the new threats faced by hybrids in a post-apocalyptic world. Netflix has the opportunity to expand the Sweet Tooth world to locations like Alaska, offering fresh stories and challenges for the characters.
The following contains spoilers for Sweet Tooth Season 3, now streaming on Netflix.
It's safe to say Sweet Tooth is one of the most endearing Netflix TV shows. It spoke to love and family in the face of the apocalypse. Given the Covid-19 pandemic, it had a more serious edge as well, due to the virus (the Sick) that killed most of humanity, and turned babies into animal hybrids.
It was sad to see Sweet Tooth Season 3 close the show out, but Netflix did so on a high note.

The following contains spoilers for Sweet Tooth Season 3, Episodes 1-3, now streaming on Netflix.
Netflix's Sweet Tooth Season 3 has a road trip vibe, but it isn't an easy ride for Gus and his allies. It's a bittersweet to experience the end of such a superbly crafted television series, but a lot of that is due to the fascinating source material by legendary comic writer Jeff Lemire, whose other works include Essex County and Black Hammer. In Season 3's first three episodes, it's clear that Gus and his friends are going out with a bang -- after even more hardships, of course.
Christian Convery puts in the performance of a lifetime in Sweet Tooth, but the show's entire cast is fantastic. Nonso Anozie as Tommy Jepperd, Stefania Lavie Owen as Bear and Adeel Akhtar as Dr. Aditya Singh are all back in top form. Joining them in Season 3 is Kelly Marie Tran,...

As far as post-apocalyptic dystopian narratives go, Jeff Lemire’s comic series Sweet Tooth might be the most depressing yet optimistic of them all. The prospect of nature hitting back at humanity’s egocentric advances and reclaiming its rightful place by exterminating humankind and creating human-animal hybrids is justified and optimistic, to say the least. But at the same time, the subjugation and oppression enacted on the hybrids by humanity once again work as a reminder of real-world treatment and exploitation of the animals and marginalized sections of society. Analyzing such heavy themes with serious philosophical undertones—that too in the mold of a coming-of-age storyline—is what made Sweet Tooth really unique, and that stands true for Netflix’s TV series adaptation of the comic series as well.

Giancarlo Esposito pitched a compelling Gus Fring prequel idea, which would explore his complex backstory and journey to power in the cartel. The main hurdle for this Breaking Bad spinoff is the impossibility of recasting Esposito, who is synonymous with the role of Gus Fring. While an enticing concept, the near-impossible task of finding a suitable replacement may ultimately prevent this spinoff from happening.
Giancarlo Esposito played Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and the actor has a perfect spinoff idea — but it ignores one problem that would be almost impossible to overcome. Esposito's character proves an intimidating villain throughout Breaking Bad, and its prequel shows a new side of his character. While Gus is no less serious or dangerous in Better Call Saul, he holds less power within the cartel. He's a far cry from the drug lord Walter White deals with, even if he shows...

Giancarlo Esposito is open to a Gus Fring Breaking Bad prequel, which he dubs "The Rise of Gus." Esposito shares his backstory for the character, which includes a past in the military and an attitude more akin to Tony Montana from Scarface. While Better Call Saul served as an effective prequel, Gus's past is best left unexplored since the mystery adds to the character's effectiveness as a villain.
Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito responds to the possibility of a Gus Fring prequel show, sharing a compelling pitch. Bryan Cranston leads the Breaking Bad cast as Walter White, with a story that follows the character as he transforms from a high school chemistry teacher into a violent drug lord. Esposito joins the show, which was created by Vince Gilligan, in season 2, appearing as Walt's boss and later adversary, Gustavo Fring. Timothy Omundson confirms the script for Psych 4 is complete and with the executives at Peacock, awaiting greenlight. Home Alone theories reveal hidden meanings and dark interpretations of the Christmas comedy. Theories suggest Kevin's mom made a deal with the devil, Kevin's dad is a mobster, and Uncle Frank is the real villain. Other theories propose that Kevin's father hates him, Old Man Marley is Kevin from the future, and the McCallisters are a cult.
There are many dark Home Alone theories that make the Christmas classic starring Macaulay Culkin a completely different viewing experience — and the myriad of ways the movie can be plausibly reinterpreted speaks for its quality as a hilarious and unique story. Released in 1990, Home Alone tells the story of 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Culkin) whose parents mistakenly leave him behind when they go on their Christmas vacation. While stuck at home alone, he has to defend his home from two burglars known as the Wet Bandits and does so with a variety of ingenious traps.

This isn’t about favourite actors. Those guys surf along on a wave of goodwill and personal adoration that means you’ll pretty much watch them in anything, regardless of quality. If Wes Bentley‘s your fav, for instance, you’ll have sought out Dolan’s Cadillac and Hirokin: The Last Samurai because you love the man, but you’ll be no better off for it.
This is about a different kind of actor – not your indulged favourite, but the one who’s earned your respect. When this actor’s name appears in a cast list, you sit up and pay attention because over the years, they’ve proved that they have the taste, integrity and talent to make their IMDb credits page if not a flawless, then certainly an interesting place to be. The collaborations they’re a part of and the projects they pick are worth seeking out.

The power of a great dynamic between characters is one of the key factors that pulls viewers into television shows and keeps them engaged. Iconic duos, such as SpongeBob & Patrick, Eric & Tami Taylor, and Troy & Abed, offer a perfect match of characters that support and elevate each other, creating memorable on-screen bonds. Whether it's a platonic or romantic pairing, audiences crave the kind of kinship seen in iconic television duos, where characters authentically grow together, drift apart, and find each other again.

Will we see Moff Gideon in the fourth season of The Mandalorian? That remains to be seen, but if you were to ask Giancarlo Esposito, the return will definitely happen. In the first three seasons of the Star Wars series on Disney+, Esposito played the role of villain Moff Gideon. He has drawn high praise for his performance as the character, even managing to garner Emmy nominations for the role.
There are no guarantees that the Moff Gideon character will be featured in season 4 or beyond of The Mandalorian, as Esposito confirms in a new interview with DiscussingFilm. The actor also makes it clear he'd love to return if he gets the offer to reprise the role. With three successful films to date, Kurt Fuller says a Psych 4 movie may just be right around the corner. Created by Steve Franks, the franchise began with the eponymous TV show centered on Shawn Spencer, the son of a former police detective who uses the skills his dad raised him with to solve crimes as a fake psychic with his childhood friend Burton Guster. Initially ending after eight seasons in 2014, Psych would come back with 2017's Psych: The Movie, the first of five planned sequels.
Screen Rant recently caught up with Fuller for an exclusive chat on his role in the Night Court revival, during which he was asked about a potential Psych 4. The series star seemed largely confident in the chances for another sequel, even reflecting on a recent conversation he had with James Roday Rodriguez in which his co-star and executive producer is "playing things close to the vest.

Bob Odenkirk reveals the hardest part about leaving Better Call Saul behind. Odenkirk originated the role of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman's criminal lawyer in Breaking Bad season 2 and returned for the prequel series, which chronicled Jimmy McGill's slow descent from an earnest attorney into the unscrupulous Saul Goodman. Better Call Saul season 6 brought the acclaimed spinoff to an end last August, representing the end of the greater Breaking Bad universe for the time being.
During a recent interview with Collider for his new series Lucky Hank, Odenkirk was asked what the hardest part of leaving Better Call Saul behind was. His answer had nothing to do with his own character he's played for the past decade, saying it was "saying goodbye to the cast." Odenkirk specifically mentioned Rhea Seehorn, who played his character's closest confidante Kim Wexler, and Patrick Fabian, who played his nemesis Howard Hamlin. Odenkirk also...

A potential Psych 4 movie is closer to happening than previously thought. Based on the popular comedy-drama series, the Psych film franchise has provided an avenue for the show to live on after its run. Psych: The Movie, centering around the mystery adventures of main duo Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez) and Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill), was released via the show’s original USA Network in 2017. Following the first film, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home and Psych 3: This Is Gus premiered on Peacock in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
According to TVLine, Psych 4 has been in the works and may happen in the near future. When asked for a status report, Rodriguez reveals that everyone involved in the film franchise is eager to get another Psych sequel going while figuring out scheduling. Finally, he confirms that the film is all the more likely to start rolling soon because there is already a script.

Ah! There’s the cork. The tour through Chez Goodman that began Season 6 rounded out with a lingering shot of a wayward Zafiro Añejo bottle topper, tantalizingly vague about how that hunk of metal tied into the fates of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn). In “Axe and Grind,” we get a tiny hint about whether that cork was one already kept in triumph or one kept as a reminder of a massive regret. While Jimmy’s purchase of celebratory tequila is undoubtedly premature, it is a nice full-circle moment as we head toward next week’s midseason finale. Kim and Jimmy aren’t the only ones who’ve been working to lay the groundwork for a big day.

Bill Maher had a lot on his mind Friday on “Real Time,” his first new show of 2022. The episode covered topics ranging from the attacks on democracy by increasingly right-wing Republicans, frustrations with Covid-19 measures and some of the usual complaining about “wokeness” with frequent guest Bari Weiss.
And then at the end, Maher closed things out with a novel suggestion for how President Joe Biden could save his presidency: By getting married to his ex-boss, former President Barack Obama.
The inspiration was Biden’s dismal polling numbers, which Maher attributed to a serious lack of enthusiasm for Biden, compared for the cultlike devotion Donald Trump inspires in his supporters. This means bad things for the 2024 election, Maher continued, since the Democratic party doesn’t at the moment seem to have anybody waiting in the wings who could energize the base. And that’s when he suggested that Biden and Obama tie the knot.

Michael Constantine, who played Gus, the father of Nia Vardalos’ Toula Portokalos in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” by far the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, died on Aug. 31. He was 94.
Constantine’s agent confirmed the news of his death to Variety. He died of natural causes.
“My Big Fat Greek Wedding” scored a domestic gross of $241 million in 2002; No. 2 on the list is “What Women Want” with $183 million. The film drew a SAG Awards nomination for outstanding performance by the cast of a theatrical motion picture.
As Roger Ebert recounted, Constantine’s Gus “specializes in finding the Greek root for any word (even ‘kimono’), and delivers a toast in which he explains that ‘Miller’ goes back to the Greek word for apple, and ‘Portokalos’ is based on the Greek word for oranges, and so, he concludes triumphantly, ‘In the end, we’re all fruits.’ ”

M*A*S*H fans are dealing with their second loss of 2020 as Timothy Brown, an actor who appeared in both the original movie along with the television series adaptation, has passed away. This follows the recent passing of Brown's M*A*S*H co-star Kellye Nakahara, who died back in February. In addition to his acting career, Brown is also known as a former NFL star, spending ten years playing professionally for the league starting in 1959. During his time in the NFL, Brown had played for Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Baltimore Colts. Tim Conway, the agile comedian who was a core member of the “The Carol Burnett Show” troupe and starred in a string of Disney film comedies in the 1970s, died Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. He was 85.

Over his long career, Conway was nominated for 13 Emmys and won six. For “The Carol Burnett Show,” he was nominated six times as a supporting performer in a variety or comedy series, winning in 1973, 1977 and 1978. There are a number of best-case scenarios involving Tim Burton directing a live-action “Dumbo” remake. He could give us a hero who is physically unusual on the outside but possessing the soul of a poet, like Edward Scissorhands. He could lean into the 1920s circus atmosphere and create another sinister but seductively designed world.
What we get instead feels more like a lesser 1970s Disney live-action comedy about an animal who can do an extraordinary thing, and the mean people who want to steal him. Burton and his collaborators took the beautiful and moving “Dumbo” and somehow managed to turn it into a throwaway kiddie adventure like “Gus” or “Million Dollar Duck.”
Granted, like many filmmakers who have tried to stretch, say, a lovely 20-page children’s book into a three-act cinematic structure, Burton and screenwriter Ehren Kruger are remaking a beloved film that’s a scant 64 minutes long. (Both...

The towering actor who played the mercenary assassin Jaws in a pair of Roger Moore-era 007 movies and the enigmatic alien in one of the most famous episodes of The Twilight Zone died today. Richard Kiel would have turned 75 on Saturday. His agent of 35 years, Steven Stevens Sr, told Deadline that Kiel died this afternoon at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA. The 7-foot-2 actor with the crooked smile got his start in early-1060s TV, appearing in such series as Laramie, Thriller and The Rifleman. He appeared in the 1962 sci-fi feature The Phantom Planet before landing the chilling Twilight Zone role. In “To Serve Man,” he played a representative of an advanced, giant alien race called the Kanamits, who alight on Earth amid what seems to be peace and good will. Kiel delivers a mysterious encrypted book to a meeting of the United Nations, and the episode soars from there.

Is George Clooney popping up in FarmVille?
While the actor himself may not be addicted to the popular social game (which over 100 million people have played on Facebook since its popularization in 2010) the design and art director of FarmVille got on the phone today with EW to talk about how Clooney inspired a character, the animation ideas they got from Disney and Pixar, and what’s new in FarmVille land — specifically with the launch of FarmVille 2 Wednesday.
FarmVille 2 will look pretty different to fans of the game. It comes with a host of upgrades, including a jump from 2D to 3D animation.

Chicago – Bring up the name Ed Asner, and immediately his legendary TV character Lou Grant comes to mind. Asner created the only TV character to successfully transition from a sitcom – “Mary Tyler Moore” – to the cutting-edge TV drama “Lou Grant.” But Asner has also been steadily working since those days, including his latest film “Let Go.”
“Let Go” is a crazy quilt ensemble comedy, following the exploits of a parole officer (David Denman). One of his clients include Artie, portrayed by Ed Asner. The iconic TV and film actor gives a subtle late career performance as a small time robber who can’t understand why things change. There is a beautiful scene with Asner and actress Peggy McKay at the conclusion of the film, as Artie makes one last attempt at redemption. Ed Asner is no lion in winter, he is still roaring.
Released on DVD: Ed Asner as Artie...
