          Displaying the power of love

This film shows that if means is love, the end is life. If means is flirt, the end is death. If you face natural tragedy in love, you will finally unite. If you create a tragedy by yourselves, you will separate forever. The film's title 'Barsaat' is very appropriate as all main characters in the film cry in a specific time period. Also, Reshma is lost in river water which is filled by rain. The song 'Mujhe Kisi Se Pyaar Ho Gayaa' and 'Jiya Beqarar' are the most attractive songs. Shankar-Jaikishan have created their first best soundtrack in this movie. Nimmi had a huge role in the beginning of the film but Nargis overtook in the later part of the film. Both Raj Kapoor and PremNath have also done very well.

          Barsaat (1949) - 70%

Not One Of The Best Works Of Raj Kapoor By Any Standard, But Still A Fine Watch... "Barsaat" Has All The Ingredients Of A True-Blue Romantic Musical, Including Chartbuster Soundtrack (Shankar-Jaikishan), Beautiful Locations (Kashmir), Memorable Performances (Kapoor, Nargis, Prem Nath, Nimmi) & A Heartfelt Story (Power Of Love), But What It Lacks Is An Engaging Screenplay, Which Prevents It From Becoming An Evergreen Classic Like Awaara, Shree 420, Sangam Or Mera Naam Joker, But As I Said Earlier... The Plusses In The Film Majorly Overpower The Negatives & Leave You Satisfied In The End.

The greatest & famous duo of late 40s and throughout 50s - Nargis & Raj Kapoor <33

Barsaat (Rain) is an Indian Hindi-language film directed by Raj Kapoor and written by Ramanand Sagar. This movie stars Raj Kapoor as Pran, Nargis as Reshmna, Premnath as Gopal, and Nimmi as Neela. Gopal and Pran are best friends with diverse perspectives of love; this movie revolves around two love stories, Gopal and Neela, which could be considered one-sided, and Pran and Reshma, which is regarded as more natural and genuine. Honestly, this movie is so good, with great dialogues and superb acting, and includes all types of emotions that the audience can try to feel. The soundtrack is outstanding, along with addicting songs and addictive lyrics.

          What a film!

i've been in a Raj Kapoor mood lately.first of all i consider the man my mentor because everything that he's done,i want to do.i eventually want to be and actor/director for my films.i want great music for my films.i want people to appreciate my work.

on with Barsaat.this film has been done so well.forget the Barsaat of 1995 and 2005.if you want to see a film called Barsaat, than you must go all the way back to 1949.when the credits show at the beginning of the movie it says Starring Nargis before it says Raj Kapoor and i have to say that it is true.this is Nargis's film.she's acted brilliantly.she's the life and soul of this movie.Nargis is Reshma.you can see it in her eyes, her expression, and everything she says.this is probably her best performance to date.i hope eventually someone will put this film into color.

Raj Kapoor did a fabulous job acting, directing, and producing this film.this is amongst his best performances.you can tell in the scene when him and Nargis go on their first boat ride.Shankar Jaikishan's music is up to par.

the only fault in this film is the fact that there's a song every 15 to 20 minutes.too many songs.otherwise a brilliantly made film.
