No one wants to hear the contestants bad mouth each other or complain all the time. We want to see them work. We want to know what each tool is for. We want to learn something. When will these tv shows get that?
I am watching season 2 for the second time. I really like this show however I feel the eliminations should follow the criteria given to the artists when presented the challenge. Episode 3 was so disappointing because only one artist did NOT meet the criteria presented however he was not eliminated. Chris Taylor should have been eliminated for not coming close to meeting the criteria. His glass with colored pencils was well made but SUPER HERO? Don't get it. Why give a criteria if your not going to consider it when eliminating?
Obviously, a relative dying sucks, but it doesn't need to be rehashed over and over again.
The glassblowing itself is fabulous, and I started focusing on just the end products and ignored the journey.
Very talented people. Kudos to them.

Don't let season one (or its bitter winner) turn you off. The contestants in season two are more fun, more humble, have better comaraderie, and, in my completely uneducated opinion, more talented. Really impressive artists and very fun to watch.
I've only watched the first 4 episodes of season 2.
While a lot of the glasswork was spectacular, the pretentious judge lady was insufferable and I started resenting having to zone out whenever she started talking.
I particularly loved how the producers insisted that every woman had to constantly bring up how they were women, and the black guy had to keep bringing up that he was black and the white males had to... well uh, they are white males so apparently they are focused on the glass? It boggles my mind that such a niche skill is apparently the domain of white men? The way they talk about it makes it seem as though the white men of glassblowing are bigoted hate-filled creatures who put roadblocks in the way of any non-male, non-white person who seeks to work with glass... then you see them and they generally all just seem to be nerdy artists who embrace the art of the others...?
