On Friday, 13th September 2019 Channel 4 Television announced that they have commissioned Love Productions to produce a new 10-episode series of the ceramic challenge for broadcast in 2020. Melanie Sykes has been announced as the new presenter of the Channel 4 version of the programme with returning judge Keith Brymer Jones joined by a new judge, award-winning ceramicist Sue Pryke. The announcement has echoes of Channel 4's obtaining of another Love Productions title that was originally broadcast on BBC Television - The Great British Bake Off.

Perfect feel-good TV

There aren't too many tv shows that celebrate craft and skill, but this one definitely does!

Unlike most of competition-based reality tv, this show has no infighting or manufactured drama. Instead what we get is a lovely bunch of people who help and support each other through fascinating creative challenges. What really elevates this contest is the judging - always constructive and positive, with even the negatives delivered with genuine kindness.

The mellow, calm pace allows us to admire the competitors' skillful work. I know next to nothing about pottery, but that doesn't disturb my enjoyment of the show!
