Before I start his review, I would just like to say that even though I love Gravity Falls, its affect on the cartoon community has been very negative. Due to its success, people bemoan any mystery/supernatural cartoon of any kind as a Gravity Falls ripoff. This has happened to Over the Garden Wall, Hilda, Welcome to the Wayne, and now Victor & Valentino. Seriously? Not every show is a copy of Gravity Falls. end of rant, let's get on with the review.
V&V is a love letter to Mexican culture. It reminds me a lot of the obscure Nicktoon El Tigre. It also gives me vibes of The Book of Life and Coco. If you're Mexican/Spanish/etc, you'll definitely like this show. I know I did and I recognized a lot of the culture.
The characters are very quirky and believable. The animation is alright (although it looks too similar to other CN shows on at the moment). The opening theme is well-composed. The show has a lot of supernatural and mystery elements to it that shape it up to be an exciting series. It's episodic as of now, but it will likely get more story driven as time. The only issue I have with the series is that it can get a little boring, but that's really my problem since I'm tired all the time and have a short attention span.

This show seems to rely heavily on the "Gravity Falls"-esque setting without giving much in terms of a plot. Who are these boys? Why are they in this town? These questions have little to no answers with an art style that looks suspiciously like the Ben 10 reboot. Not to mention the shoddy voice acting coming from Victor 80% of the time. This show could have done so much better than we've gotten so far.
I'm really enjoying and loving Victor & Valentino it's incredibly funny, unique and smart. It's really cool to see diversity in animation. This is already a favorite for a lot of my little cousins, nephews & nieces. I'm a big fan of Diego Molano (the creator of the show) and Frankie Quinones (voice of Maria Teresa)!
We absolutely love this new show, especially the two main characters and Charlene. Can't wait to see more of her creepy badass paranormal self! For a Latinx family, one of the best shows around combining fun contemporary animation with traditional Mesoamerican myth and folklore. !Adelante chicxs! Way to go y muchas felicidades to everyone who's made this show possible!
Well this was one of the few cartoons on the cartoon network line up I was looking forward to and now I can give it a proper review.
After watching around 4-5 episodes of this it is safe to see it is good show but it could be improved.
This show is like gravity falls but shorter.
It is about two boys who in each episode have a magical mystery.
In terms of plot it is good but just like the problem with every cartoon network show on currently it is an eleven minute format and realistically to make it more plot devoted it could be 22 minutes.
Also the animation/art style is too similar to other shows on cartoon network. But other then that it is a decent show.
