Same overburnt spirit storyline, dreadful acting, not scary, boring to watching even with one eye. Save your precious time.
Well for a horror movie released in 2020, "Behind You" feels more like something from the 1990s, for better or worse - depending on your particular preference of horror movie of course.
I hadn't heard about this movie prior to getting a chance to watch it. And it being a horror movie was essentially enough to catch my attention. So I sat down to watch it with zero expectations.
"Behind You" proved to be adequately entertaining. Granted, it wasn't an outstanding or particularly memorable horror movie, nor was it a movie that I will be watching a second time around. But it turned out to be adequately entertaining for what it turned out to be.
In terms of scares and thrills, then "Behind You" was lacking majorly in this department, especially for a seasoned horror veteran such as myself. Sure, I believe that newcomers to the horror genre might find this movie to have scenes that are scary. But for me, it was just a bit too generic and seen in other movies already.
The acting in the movie was good, and that was actually the movie's strongest selling point.
I am rating "Behind You" a mediocre five out of ten stars.

I can never rate these types of movies on the same scale as I would a movie with a larger budget and known actors but I can rate it on the lower budget movie scale where this one would fit as a solid 6. The story is good, the acting is decent and the horror aspect offers some scares and is creepy enough.
I was actually surprised because I didn't expect the film to be a watchable horror film let alone a decent story. I did feel like it went on longer than it should have. No need for a "twist" or "surprise ending" with these types of films. Just keep it straight and cut it with a happy ending (or a sad one).
I don't have many complaints about the movie I did enjoy it for what it was. A Sunday evening type of horror movie. Lights on the violence, gore, and profanity but entertaining enough to still be a horror movie.
I liked it... I'll probably forget that I watched it though. If I could compare the film to something... I'd say it's like a good frozen pizza. You know you'd rather have a pie fresh out a real parlor but that frozen pizza is convenient when you're hungry and it's too late to pick up anything. That is this movie. It's a convenient little horror film that does it's job of entertaining you for the duration of its run time. You don't anticipate it to be an amazing experience but it is at least a good one that is filling.

- TriviaChristian Davis made the original soundtrack by using multiples objects he had in his house. He used tea kettles, chainsaw engine, kitchen percussion and bowed wood. He did this in order to give a certain personality and voice to the house and making it into a character.
