Immerse yourself in the lives of the characters and be prepared to be moved, to laugh, and to cry. Quite refreshing to be able to relate to the older generation and the reflection of our own issues at this age.
This series exceeds expectations. Very well written produced and acted. Stories of loss are familiar but not when it comes to gay couples. It is so well told; the switching from real time to the past to the imagination seamlessly. There is real affection here from all the characters for one another and even day to day activities are filled with authenticity.
This drama has a lot of good energy, performances and the concept is very well put together overall. But the lead doesn't really seem able to carry the entire story, so the other characters and THEIR contributions/stories are very welcome (gets even better in the 2nd season). However, a few of the performances were over-acted and the biggest turn-off was all the name-dropping (they must REALLY hate Patti Lupone for whatever reason) and references to their lavish New York City lifestyle and proximity to Broadway, academia and artists...from a California stand-point, they just came off as posers. In fact, the more the characters talked about famous people, the more evident it was that pretty much no one famous or recognizable was in this cast. Worth a watch, but definitely a lot of area for growth (assuming there is a season 3).
Started watching wth the husband last night. I wasn't feeling it at first, then it started to grow on me. Short episodes, easy to digest.
Looking forward to watching more, if Amazon/producers do the right thing.
Wanting more is always the sign of something good.
Anyone who is been in love feels these same emotions. I loved these shorts and hope that everyone who has lost someone is found, redeemed and understands.
Film-making Isn't easy; but, when it tells these truths, it just seems right. It just seems right.
