A shame, because this movie had potential. Sort of. But it's taken in the wrong direction, and just wasted. To be honest, for it to be better the whole plot should have developed in another direction. Meaning, you know, different plot.
It has decent acting, looks decent, but it's just too boring. Boring, and just doesn't add up. Being boring is the worst thing a movie can be, because movies exist solely to entertain.
So, to sum up, slow, boring, and almost nothing happens in this "horror" movie. Better luck next time.
The story is intriguing as it starts out quite normal and soon descends in to darkness with wonderful acting by all the main cast, and real through from the production team in putting all together - in a very atmospheric visual experience.
This is the kind of movie you have to watch properly - then you really get drawn in to the world of the characters and the unfolding sinister experience.
This film is worth so much more than the 4 rating on here.
It should be said that there is no problem with the acting which is superb, even by the minor characters, but some of the CGI is not so good and then there is the supernatural element when faceless figures appear and then there is the little girl. Also, some things do not add up. For instance, rooms which are pitch black suddenly have lots of lit candles - how does that happen? The ending, for me anyway, did not make much sense, but by then I was losing interest. A pity because it could have been different.
