So I gave this movie 7/10 because I thought the storyline was excellent. There were some good or at least decent performances but for the most part the acting was terrible. I've never seen many of the actors in anything so it's possible that they were extras, low budget actors, or actors who didn't have a lot of experience. This is fine, I'm all for giving people an opportunity. I'm just sorry that the storyline seems to be underappreciated based on the low ratings. This film could have been 10 out of 10 had there been more experienced actors. I love Michael Jai White, always have, and I really like Tom Berenger but I think a movie is only as good as the directing and it's acting. So if I'm going to put blame anywhere it would be on those two items -- the directing and the acting. Also, the editing could have really used some work.
Michael Jai White and Quinton Jackson grew up together. Now White is a police hostage negotiator and Jackson is a bank robber with hostages. He gets White as his negotiator and makes some tough demands... and revenge on White.
It's a not particularly distinguished example of the 'negotiator' movie, intended as star turns for the leads, shot in a foreboding light, with overly dramatic music that clearly is intended to let the audience know that the stakes are high. Unfortunately, the constant level reduces everything to the same level, and there's little rhythm to the story telling. There are lots of closeups and tight, claustrophobic shots that make this dull in its unceasing panic.

Don't even bother watching. Tom Berenger should be massively embarrassed that he was even in this farce, Michael Jai White makes Andy Dick seem like a Thespian.
Is it worth the slog here to get to the film's surprises? I would say no. During most of the movie, I was thinking they should have sent the cast back to acting school before they filmed this and edited the script so that it wasn't laughably bad.
The twists that do come later, which I won't reveal, can be clever and I didn't guess them but also can be somewhat confusing, at least to me. All in all, I would say save yourself the time--it's not worth it.

I actualy liked the plot, but thats all the there is to say about this one.
Acting from several of the actors is extreamly poor, and the computer generated graphichs scenes are terrible. A House blown up with C4 inside, and it doesn't even catch om fire (on screen)... come on... Where is the professionalisme in the pride of filmmaking..??
Whatch TV to see how real reporters send and report bavl to the TV-station. This is the worst reporter i a movie I have ever seen - acting as if she don't knos how to report... Or maybee she is suposed to look like a rokokoen, but even so the acting is the worst I've ever seen.
Looks like nothing but $-making to me..!!
Don't insult my intelligence.
