A remake of the 2020 Malyalam film with the same name starring Tovino Thomas & Mamta Mohandas , the plot involves a serial killer who is on the loose in Mussoorie, brutally killing young girls on their birthdays.
Radhika Aapte as the police officer investigating the case and Vikrant Massey as the forensics guy look through the clues and try to bring the killer to book. Will the duo who have a romantic past forget their differences & emerge victors is what this film is all about.
Cinematography is good, hilly terrain, misty mountains have been beautifully showcased!!
Aapte and Massey have given decent performances even though Massey seems to be hamming in a few scenes. Rest of the cast isn't bad either with Vindu Dara Singh, Ved Prakash Mathur, Rohit Roy & Prachi Desai lending good support to the protagonists.
Even though the twist in the end is nice and virtually inconceivable, it could've been shot better. It lacks the shock value and fails to create adrenaline rush moments. This cudve been done better.
If you don't compare it with the Mallu original, this one's a decent one time watch.
My rating .. 3/5.. Adios 🙂

'Forensic' is a whodunnit psychological crime thriller that unravels the identity of a serial killer with the aid of the forensic division. The plot centers on a string of kidnappings that take place in Mussoorie and the investigation officer and the forensic department's efforts to solve the case. The movie introduces the concept of children committing serial murders by using the case of Amarjeet Sada, who is known all over the world as "India's youngest serial killer". It also sheds light on the psychological factors and early trauma that contribute to the development of serial killers and psychopaths.
Director Vishal Furia's remake of the Malayalam movie of the same name that starred Tovino Thomas and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. After retaining some of the original story's elements, this Hindi remake includes a number of unexpected twists that create a completely unique experience. And even if you've seen the original, it wouldn't be incorrect to say that everyone will still enjoy a heart-pounding experience thanks to the fast-paced screenplay written by Vishal Kapoor, Ajit Shashikant Jagtap, and Adhir Bhatt. A whodunnit crime thriller requires a gloomy aesthetic, which the film has in spades.
It begins with the tragic tale of an eight-year-old boy whose violent father preferred his daughter over him. As a result of this, the boy became a dangerous and vengeful individual. The next sequence shows the girls going missing on their birthdays, followed by Megha Sharma, the investigating officer, searching for the victim. When they discovered that these innocent girls were being murdered, they enlisted the help of forensic expert Johnny Khanna to find the perpetrator.
Right from the beginning, the intense atmosphere and dark tone sets up the mood of the film. The dramatic twists and turns of the story, which are required for these genres, as well as the fact that it is unpredictable from the beginning, make it the most intriguing aspect. Many crime thrillers in Hindi cinema, such as Drishyam and others, have shown cops failing to find the culprit; however, this film demonstrates the prowess of police and other departments in attempting to solve crimes. The film depicts in great detail how forensic investigators examine crime scenes for evidence, such as blood, fluid, fingerprints, or residue, in order to determine how a crime occurred.
Forensic features Radhika and Vikrant in prominent roles. Vikrant Massey plays a convincing forensic expert who is meticulous in gathering crime-related evidence and making it appear authentic to viewers. He has some funny one-liners and his 'Johnny Johnny' riddle began as a clever trick before becoming a running gag. Radhika Apte instantly makes you root for Megha, ably depicting an honest officer who wants to crack the case and save the victims. Despite Vikrant and Radhika's characters' romantic past, both of them make a great team together. Dr. Ranjana, played by Prachi Desai, is a pivotal character in the story. She is convincing as a child psychiatrist.
Another highlight is the setting of a small town and the naturally beautiful shots of the mountains and the woods. Backed by superb performances and strong writing, 'Forensic' is an engaging edge-of-the-seat crime thriller.

Forensic; as the title may conspicuously suggest, this is an out-and-out murder mystery thriller with some corresponding ingredients coming straight from the field of forensic research. The premise promised to entangle the onlookers in its veil of palpable tension and trickery and I'm happy to announce it duly delivered.
However, If we put all these investigative facets to one side, we are left with crass humor and a poorly chopped-out screenplay. Thank goodness, the performances for the most part are applaudable.
All the primary figures did excellent, even if some of them were a bit theatrical, a bit over the top at times. Nevertheless, it's a neatly made thriller that works primarily due to the story being told as well as the intertwined dynamics of all the characters.

'Forensic' directed by Vishal Furia, produced by Deepak Mukut, Varun Bagla and Mansi Bagla, is streaming on Zee5. It is an adaptation of Malayalam film 'Forensic' released in 2020.
The film is set in Mussorie. Little girls are getting murdered on their birthdays. Police Officer Megha (Radhika Apte) tries to solve the mystery with Forensic expert Johny (Vikrant Massey). Both of them were in a relationship. Megha's niece Aanya (Harbandana Kaur) lives with her and Megha doesnt allow her father Abhay (Rohit Bose Roy) to meet Aanya as she thinks that Abhay is responsible for the death of another daughter Aadya and wife Divya (Zeba Sherrif) . Abhay is Johny's elder brother. Aanya visits Dr. Ranjana (Prachi Desai) for counseling sessions. Meanwhile Aanya also goes missing. Where is Aanya ? Who is killing little girls ? What is the motive of the killer ? Will Megha and Johny catch the culprit ? The climax answers all these questions.
Vishal Furia's direction is neat. Though the film is an adaptation, there are a lot of differences between the two films. The writing by Mansi Bagla, Adhir Bhatt, Ajit Shashikant Jagtap and Vishal Kapoor has its moments and the writers have made many changes in the original script. The writing is engaging enough. The detailing of forensic and how the department works to solve a mystery is a novelty for Hindi cinema. Also the twist in the climax may seem over the top yet comes as a surprise.
Vikrant Massey is noteworthy. Radhika Apte is competent. Prachi Desai is appealing. Rohit Bose Roy is acceptable. Vindu Dara Singh, Subrata Dutta, Anant Mahadevan, Harbandana Kaur, Narendra Gupta and Jatin Siyal are passable.
Anshul Chobey's cinematography is admirable. Adrija Gupta's music is mediocre. The songs are not placed well and seem forced. Abhijeet Deshpande's editing could have been sharper. Jitendra Mhatre's makeup needed to be much better at certain places. In a nutshell 'Forensic' may not be an exceptional film like the original but it is watchable due to decent performances, interesting plot and the shocking twist.

Acting and editing wise ,movie is avrg but story is good, suspense and thrill is good, and consequently it is a good one time watch.
Hvnt seen the south one but this one is ok standalone.
Bollywood should learn dearly from south and make such stories themselves.

- CuriosidadesNarendra Gupta who use to play character of Dr. R. P. Salunkhe in well know TV series CID has played role of top most forensic expert Dr. Solanki in the film.
- Erros de gravaçãoWhen Johny visits the house where crimes have taken place he only has a backpack. But during the whole visit he manages to change to hazmat suit, use Laser Scanner to scan the house, use tripod stand for the scanner, use laptop to view and process scanning data and use suitcase with forensic toolkit to collect evidence. It would be impossible fit all these things in backpack of such size.
