Resumo
Reviewers say 'Flight Risk' offers mixed reactions, highlighting strong performances by Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, and Topher Grace. The confined plane setting is intriguing yet criticized for predictability and lack of depth. Common complaints include weak dialogue, unrealistic plot points, and clichés. Some appreciate the humor and tension, while others find it fails as a thriller. Mel Gibson's direction receives mixed reviews, seen as a decline from his earlier works. Overall, 'Flight Risk' is entertaining but flawed, not fully leveraging its potential.

I'm glad I didn't see this at the movies... paid $6 on Prime and even still I feel a little cheated. This film had the potential of being a great move, but it just didn't meet par with suspense, dialogue, or entertainment. These are good actors, seasoned and good at their craft but I think the writers were lacking. They left them hanging and struggling to take what was written and make the movie believable.
Something is no longer good in Hollywood, the talent has fallen to an all-time low. I've noticed the "F" word is now mainstay with writers indicating they have little expertise in narrative.
I won't watch it again... maybe on a rainy day with no where to go and its the only thing available, then maybe.

Should have crashed and burned. This is a movie you'd watch if you want to make every other bad movie look good. If I were a pilot I'd be offended. If I were a traffic controller I'd be offended. If I were an Air Marshall I'd be offended. If I were a script writer, actor, producer, or had any dealings with this movie, I'd be offended. There was zero mystery among the dialog and story line on the phone and radios. The heroine sure knew how to fy a plane a 3,ooo feet in mountainous terrain in Alaska. There was more navigation and skills used on an amusment ride at Chuck E Cheese. Can't wait for the sequel!
I wasn't even going to go see this film after seeing the preview. It just looked so standard in the ad, and I felt it gave away too much of the story. Then I noticed it was directed by Mel. So, I thought why not, I've seen everything else he's directed. So I used my points to go see it, and I must say. I think it definitely is a little better than how it comes across in the ad. The filmmaking is definitely solid. The film creates some fairly tense moments, even though it's one of those films where you sort of have an idea as to how it will likely end. It is a fairly straightforward and simple film for sure. However it is well made, and the script is definitely not as unintelligently written as most Hollywood films these days. The dialogue is perhaps a little harsh for some, but that actually also helps this film build the decent amount of tension that it needs to work reasonably well. I definitely don't regret going to see it on the big screen. For many people, this will be worth a watch for sure.
I think Mel may have taken this project in order to help fund his own passion projects, and why not? They definitely made a decent little film out of this in my view. In fact, I'd say it's a fairly good date movie if you all can handle some creepy dialogue and a little bit of gore.
What is also refreshing about this script, is that even though a female has a major role in the film. The script doesn't enter into any of these overly naive and ridiculous political narratives that so many other Hollywood films these days do. If I see another one of those films, I'm going to be sick right in the theatre. So look out people.
6.5/10.

It's not a high concept movie by any stretch. But, it is an entertaining flick. And, it's the first time Wahlberg has played an actual bad guy since 1996's Fear. And not to give anything away, but damn, his character gets taken to task to say the least.
Topher Grace is...Topher Grace in this movie. His character really could've been played by any number of actors. The same could be said for the actress who played the FBI agent. But in reality, none of the characters actually required in depth character study or to be standout. It was just a matter of getting actors to sign onto the film who could competently pull off the scenes.
So again, it's a decent film overall. I don't think anyone will walk out feeling disappointed or angry about spending their time or money watching it. And as run of the mill as it is, it's still better than what's being nominated for an Academy award this year.

I'm not sure if this actually a joke? Didn't Michelle Dockery or Mark Walhberg question the stuff they were saying? Didn't Mel Gibson question the editing? Is this some sort of tax right off for all those involved? If Mel Gibson has only directed 5 films, why on earth would he want this to be one of them? I'm just so surprised. The plot has so many holes you could strain spaghetti with it. The acting is awful, even by good actors. There are so many cliches it's unreal. Actually, come to think of it, I'm wondering if this is the first movie ever made that was written by ChatGpT? Maybe edited by it too?
Você sabia?
- CuriosidadesMark Wahlberg really shaved his head for his role in this movie. He did not want to use a bald cap.
- Erros de gravaçãoMadalyn and Winston while arguing with Daryl, are suddenly alerted to the presence of mountain tops, then while trying to pull up, smash through a snow bank between two peaks. There is absolutely no way that plane would have survived that impact without a scratch.
