Per Deadline, it has been revealed that Mehcad Brooks is leaving Law & Order. Brooks has been playing the role of Detective Jalen Shaw for three seasons, serving as one of its new stars since the original Law & Order series was revived. The reason for the split is reportedly mutual, and Brooks is already looking into other acting opportunities.

The news comes shortly after the trailer launch for Mortal Kombat II, which will see Brooks back on the big screen. Brooks previously appeared as Jax, a character from the video games, in the previous Mortal Kombat film released in 2021. Oscar nominee Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Jeffery Donovan (Fargo), and Natacha Karam (9-1-1: Lone Star) will star in Fox’s The Faithful. Described as a biblical event series, The Faithful will premiere on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 8pm Et/Pt. Fox plans on airing two-hour installments over three consecutive weeks, with the finale airing on Easter Sunday.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s Danny Cannon is on board to direct and executive produce the premiere. Rene Echevarria, Carol Mendelsohn, and Julie Weitz will also serve as executive producers. Echevarria wrote the pilot and guides the series as showrunner.

Filming will take place this summer in Rome and Matera, Italy.

Joe Marinelli, the veteran character actor who amused and attracted admirers as the cross-dressing mobster Bunny Tagliatti on the NBC soap opera Santa Barbara, has died. He was 68.

Marinelli died Sunday in Burbank after a battle with stomach cancer, his wife of nearly 34 years, musician Jean Marinelli, told The Hollywood Reporter. She said they never had a fight.

After playing Bernardo “Bunny” Tagliatti from 1988-90, Marinelli portrayed bank robber Pauly Hardman on the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light in 1993 and another crook, Joseph Sorel, on the ABC soap General Hospital from 1999-2001.
