    In February, 1935, teamed up with comedian Bert Wheeler for a vaudeville engagement in Chicago. Jans found that Wheeler was making four figures a week (Jans' fee was three digits), and found that Wheeler's name was on the marquee in enormous letters above Jans' tiny name. The engagement was never repeated.
