Okay, sounds interesting. It could work. Ah yes, tension is built up quite well. The characters are quite ok, let's see where the journey goes.
And then comes the last episode.
Holy father! What an unbelievable nonsense! I won't spoil this junk, but this much is revealed: this is no story twist, no big surprise, but an embarrassing soap opera beyond compare.
How can you ruin an arc of suspense like that?
Horrible. Simply awful.

I kept watching until the last episode, because I desperately wanted to find out with what solution they would come up with, but to be honest, it took pretty much endurance! The premise, and the way they presented in the first two episodes the bewilderment of the main characters, all seemingly totally innocent of what they were accused of, was intriguing enough to promise a nice, exciting and entertaining thriller. But from the moment the Tilson-character came along, things took a downhill ride, the twists and turns tumbled over each other, and the whole story sort of drowned in the overwrought ambitions of the writers, taking credibility as well as my understanding and patience down with it.
It may have been my simple brain, but I completely lost track of who was guilty or innocent, who worked for who, who was good or bad or both, even in the closing episode that supposedly came with the answers. It didn't help that virtually no-one was even in the least bit sympathetic, making it hard to relate to anyone of the characters. It didn't help either, that the ones that seemed (as far as I could understand it) to have noble motives for their dubious actions, at the same time didn't hesitate to use the basest of means, resorting to intimidation, extortion, murder and putting the blame on innocent people.
After my optimistic expectations from the first episodes it unfortunately became a real disappointment.

Some of the decisions the characters made were very stupid . The ending of the first season sucked . I don't even have anything nice to say right now because I'm shocked .
The quality cast to build tension and character from the scant script, at times chewing the scenery because there was such little meat in the plot. An elevator pitch probably sounded good - a commentary on truth in modern media through climate change and PR spin with a kidnapping twist. Execution of the idea was clumsy and, at times, nonsensical. Side quests took up screen time but went nowhere meaningful. The final episode of this mediocre show could have almost saved it with a shocking twist or revelation, but alas, we saw it coming. Rushed and poorly concluded plot points leave the viewer dissatisfied (eg how did X know Y? Does X ever go back home?). Ultimately the show suffers poor pacing throughout the season, frontloaded with filler and overwrought tension over minor matters then tied up in a hamfisted bow of unresolved threads.
And not for nothing - Uma Thurman has beautiful, natural hair. Either she has a terrible wig in this show or they need to blacklist the hairstylist for doing her so dirty. There's looking like a frumpy character on purpose, then there's having hair so bad it's distracting. This is the second.

The way the first season ended has ruined it, moreover the storyline could have been better developed to lead to such finale by making the audience wonder more about the suspects involvement in the kidnapping.
Feels like a missed opportunity to do something great since the cast is very good, as well as the filmography.
