I didn't even realize how much time had passed while binge watching it.
It playfully pokes fun at the reality of capitalism where money can fix almost anything in a light and easy-to-get way.
A lot of recent K-dramas try too hard to be heavy and epic but end up feeling empty which is why I stopped watching them. Cashero feels refreshing and kind of brings back what made K-dramas great in the first place. I like it.

This has a fresh take on the superhero concept and it was an enjoyable watch overall. I liked the characters and although they were slightly underdeveloped, I think the actors did their best to bring the characters to life, and I particularly liked the villainous siblings. I also liked the literal meaning of 'money is power' and how it relates to the protagonist's power and abilities - how he was only powerful when he had money. The protagonist's goodness was innate though so his powers were put to good use.
People lose it over adaptations which is funny to me. It's an interpretation not a replication, you can't replicate the webtoon, and why would you want to? Let it go, and accept adaptations for what they are lol.
Acting and directing was phenomenal, with great character development too. Chemistry was perfection. Cinematography was amazing, and the plot was engaging and a wild ride. I had so much fun watching this drama. It was able to achieve in only 8 episodes what a lot dramas with 16+ episodes can't. A great way to end the year.
Congrats to Lee Junho for headlining imo 2 of the best dramas of the year. This is only my second one of his and I am a true fan now, and plan to fully eat up his catalog. He's a great actor and on fire right now :)

Cashero has a refreshing idea for a superhero story, A hero whose strength depends on how much cash he has. It sounds silly at first but it actually creates some interesting and relatable moments especially with how the character handles responsibility and pressure. Lee Jun-ho brings sincerity to the role and there are scenes that are fun, emotional and even a little thought provoking.
But the show isn't perfect. The writing can feel inconsistent and some plot points don't land as strongly as they should. A few moments build up like they're leading somewhere important then end up fading out or feeling unfinished. It's the kind of drama where the potential is there but not every idea is used to its fullest. Even then, it's not boring just uneven
Overall, Cashero works best if you go in expecting something different rather than a big, polished superhero epic. It's enjoyable for the unique concept, the character moments and the performances as long as you don't expect every part of the story to be airtight. If you like shows that experiment with ideas, it's worth a watch.
