The drama is about Yoon-Soo, who gets accused of killing her husband, and while in prison she meets Mo-eun and they end up making a deal.
The story is well-paced and gripping, never slow, and it keeps you thinking about what might happen next - that's why I couldn't stick to just one episode a day.
For me, the main reason I watched this drama is Kim Go-eun. I never miss any of her works because she truly lives the role and delivers emotions so naturally.
Jeon Do-yeon was also incredible - her portrayal of fear and confusion felt very real.
Personally, I found the ending satisfying, but I wish Mo-eun fate had been a little different.

The Price of Confession unfolds like a perfectly chilled glass of absinthe: refined, captivating, and deeply enthralling. In a crowded landscape of mystery thrillers, this Korean series cuts through the noise with surgical precision.
Its brilliance lies in a clever, high-stakes premise. The story navigates a world of moral complexity, shifting loyalties, and unpredictable twists that keep viewers on edge. The writing and direction are deliberate, allowing tension to build masterfully and prompting reflection not just on the truth, but on the true nature of those around us.
Jeon Do-yeon delivers one of her most haunting performances as Yoon-soo, portraying the slow unraveling of a woman confronted by a life that has turned alien. Every tremor in her voice, every flicker of panic in her eyes, feels achingly real, like watching glass fracture in slow motion. Opposite her, Kim Go-eun mesmerizes as Mo-eun, a portrait of controlled menace whose calm, unsettling smile is impossible to ignore. Park Hae-soo provides a grounded, quietly commanding presence as the weary detective, whose sharp instincts cut through the chaos.
The Price of Confession is more than just a compelling mystery thriller; it is a rare, pulse-quickening journey that restores faith in the genre. This is a series that demands attention; clear your weekend, silence your phone, and immerse yourself in one of the most gripping, soul-stirring Korean thrillers Netflix has offered in recent years.

I watched this series with zero expectation as I knew nothing about it. I recognized the two actresses from other shows and knew they were top notch. The series unfolds that way and keeps you in suspense until the 2nd last episode where a taut ballon for 10 eps suddenly starts to deflate. It's as if the writers were like 'Gotta finish this one up soon'. The motive for the artist's murder was laughable, which killed a thrilling an otherwise entertaining series. So many cool plot twists - but also plot holes. Lots of them. I'm usually so supportive of Kdramas, but I've noticed lately they're taking shortcuts - in storylines and ramping up the production value. It should be the other way around. Great run, disappointing finish.
Starts off great but it lost the plot towards the end.
To make the show unpredictable a lot of unnecessary "twists" were added which ultimately made the show a bit messy. Props to the actors! However, the characters needed a bit more depth to define their motivations, especially the antagonists! Towards the end it became one of the shows that you put on in the background while you scroll on your phone!

Not the greatest show of its kind but nonetheless a satisfying watch; recommended. - A few select observations:
1. I got the impression some reviewers were not impressed by acting and actors/actresses due to a dislike of their characters, however I hold that the acting was very good throughout. The leads brought their characters to life in line with what the story demanded. A shout-out to the excellent remaining cast. Watching for example Ms. Eom during the concluding sequence of ep.8 I realized how good they all were.
2. If you have watched more than one thriller / crime / mystery show in your life, some developments may be "predictable", however, there are plenty of surprises here. If you can predict the ultimate who (and why) of the events then it is because you had this info beforehand... That said, I found the "reveal" somewhat heavy-handed, I trust you will see what I mean when you get there. As to the why the message seems to be how things can easily spiral out of control. I will leave it at that so as to not give away anything.
