On one hand, I wasn't expecting much. On the other, I kept waiting for it to "give me something"-a spark, a purpose, or even a moment of intrigue. In the end, I fail to see what the audience is supposed to take away from this.
This movie isn't a joyful experience, nor does it offer anything particularly novel or interesting. It feels quite dull. And it's so unremarkable, that I doubted writing this review. Yet here I am, reflecting on an experience that left me feeling mostly indifferent and dumbfounded.
In terms of presentation, the movie looks good on the surface, but it somehow feels cheap.
None of the characters, aside from perhaps the villain, leave any lasting impression.. and some performances feel questionable. Eva Green appears more washed out than ever, as though she reluctantly took on this role. The group dynamics are flat and only fill in the space. Awkward attempts at humor (revolving around name-calling) and more. Clocking in at nearly two hours, the movie does manage to wrap things up, but the pacing is excruciatingly slow, especially in the first half, leaving you questioning why you're still watching. The bigger question is: What did it actually achieve? What was the point?
Why bother?

Dirty Angels (2024) is an action thriller movie directed by Martin Campbell and I found it to be very mediocre.
Positives for Dirty Angels (2024): The directing in this movie by Martin Campbell is pretty okay for the most part. Eva Green does a decent enough job with her performance in the movie. That are some okay action sequences. And finally, the movie's pacing is okay enough and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
Negatives for Dirty Angels (2024): The movie feels like a generic action thriller movie that could've been directed by anyone, not Martin Campbell. The story feels like things are being made up as it goes along. I didn't care about any of the characters with the exception to Eva Green. And finally, things are just happening for the hell of it.
Overall, Dirty Angels (2024) is a standard generic action thriller movie that you would find in the bargain bin of any store and nothing else.

The only reason this movie got two-stars is because it manages to equally insult every nationality depicted, and because it has Eva Green and Ruby Rose, among other promising actresses.
Eva Green: I read that she wants to return to theater. Ok, but maybe have your agent find better projects. I don't understand why she ever agreed to do this awful film. It was such a miscast.
Ruby Rose: As an actress she's best suited for the sarcastic, tough character roles, and so it's perplexing that here she gets a different role which doesn't really suit her specific, narrow-ranged talents.
Pretty much everything with this move is bad. Both Martin Cambell (director) and Jonas McCord (writer) should be ashamed of themselves. Alissa Sullivan Haggis (writer), too. Atrocious.

Whoever the military advisor was should be fired. I retired from the Marines and the uniforms and medals and everything to do with the military in this movie was not just wrong but it was comedic . Eva Green tried to carry it which is the only reason i watched it. I would have done the advising for free I and all other vets are tired of the movies getting it wrong! The overseas filming makes it out to be much better than it really is like the young women playing and sports and the few guards in a taliban area at all. I understand its a movie but some realism goes a long way with making the movie better.
I will start with the Good Points.
The kidnap plot and the infighting between the Taliban and IS hast the potential to create a genuinely interesting movie in fact I would go as far as saying the enemy in this were reasonably well portrayed within reason.
Now for the bad:
If a fully equipped CAG team with the best trained equipped, and supported operators the US military have, couldn't complete this mission then this bunch of misfits would have stood no chance.
The lead female who apparently doesn't know what unit she's in, one minute she's an army ranger next she's a US marine, then back to being a ranger again.
Spends the first half of the movie complaining about leaving people behind, then risks the whole team for a dead guy who shouldn't have even been on the raid, before contradicting herself and leaving not 1 but 2 team mates to be captured and killed
Her attitude as a whole was terrible i wouldn't follow her to the coffee shop never mind into battle
Possibly thee WORST military movie I've ever watched if you want to see a military show with a good female lead then watch Special Ops Lioness DONT watch this dumpster fire.

- WissenswertesThe story portrayed in the film is entirely fictional. No American soldiers tried to rescue Afghan girls from the Taliban.
- PatzerThe uniforms are completely wrong - there are USMC insignia on army dress uniforms and the insignia on the USMC dress uniforms are wrong, as well. No army officer would have tattoos reaching down to his or her hands, and no officer would be unshaven and long-haired like that colonel at the hearing.
