Netflix's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel has added two prominent stars to its cast. Brad Pitt is already confirmed to be reprising his role of Cliff Booth in the David Fincher-directed film, which will serve as a follow-up to the adventures of the fan-favorite Quentin Tarantino character. The movie is based on a script that Tarantino previously wrote and production is expected to begin in July.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan have now joined the cast as well. Both Debicki and Caan's roles remain under wraps. There are reportedly two key female roles, with one character running a bar and mud wrestling establishment and the other being a trophy wife, but it is unconfirmed if Debicki will be playing either of these characters. Caan's involvement marks a reunion with Pitt, as the two of them starred in the Ocean's Eleven movie trilogy together.

Which MCU Actors Have Won The Oscars? (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is best known for its visual spectacles, record-breaking box office numbers, and storylines that span galaxies. But beneath the CGI battles and billion-dollar spectacles lies a cast filled with some of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors. While comic book films were once dismissed as genre fare unworthy of critical recognition, Marvel flipped the script by assembling a lineup of performers whose talent had already been validated by the industry’s highest honor: the Academy Award.
These aren’t just actors playing superheroes; they’re Oscar winners who brought gravitas, complexity, and character depth to roles that could have easily been one-dimensional. From long-established legends to surprising supporting players, the MCU is quietly stacked with gold, figuratively and literally. What’s especially striking is the sheer variety among these Oscar-winning performers. Some won decades ago, long...

How To Catch Up With The Franchise Before Watching Karate Kid: Legends? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Karate Kid: Legends, the eagerly anticipated sixth installment of The Karate Kid franchise, has finally hit the big screen. If you’re planning to watch it in theatres but haven’t seen all the previous Karate Kid films or the Cobra Kai series, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! Here is what we think is a quick and efficient way to enjoy the film, even if you are entirely new to the franchise.
The Best Way To Enjoy Karate Kid: Legends
We think it’s not absolutely necessary to watch every Karate Kid movie and all Cobra Kai seasons before Karate Kid: Legends. Start with the 1984 classic, The Karate Kid, to understand Ralph Macchio’s character arc and the legacy of Mr. Miyagi (who was played by Pat Morita). You can skip the...

The Godfather Casting Battle ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Francis Ford Coppola had a vision for The Godfather, but turning that vision into reality was anything but smooth. According to The Mirror, long before cameras started rolling, the film nearly took shape with a completely different cast. Today, it’s hard to picture anyone other than Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, or Diane Keaton in their roles, but things could have gone very differently.
Al Pacino Was Almost Fired From The Godfather Early In Production
Coppola had to push hard to keep his preferred actors in the film. Even Al Pacino, now iconic as Michael Corleone, was nearly fired after the first week, as the studio wasn’t convinced he could carry the role. Coppola, feeling the pressure himself, sat down with Pacino to review the early footage, and much to his displeasure, it wasn’t landing the way he hoped. Pacino later...

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Did James Gunn Hide Easter Eggs From His Directorial Debut In The MCU Film?
Here’s How James Gunn May Have Hidden Easter Eggs From Slither In Guardians Of The Galaxy(Photo Credit –Instagram/JioHotstar)
Before James Gunn earned recognition as the man behind Guardians of the Galaxy, he gave us something similar and weirder than talking trees and sci-fi raccoons. It was a little 2006 horror-comedy called Slither. And the wild part is that nearly two decades later, fans are still piecing together what might’ve been a hidden roadmap to the MCU.
It’s 2025, but let’s rewind when Gunn’s horror roots were still fresh and oozing. His directorial debut, Slither, was a splatter-filled throwback to ’80s creature features, with alien parasites, exploding bodies, and enough slime to drown a town. But what seemed like a B-movie homage at the time may have quietly planted the seeds for the Marvel madness to come.

There was a time when any big Marvel project seemed like the safest of bets. Fans would be excited regardless of whether the Marvel Cinematic Universe was launching an anticipated theatrical movie or if a video game studio was working on a title featuring an iconic character from the franchise. All eyes were set on what the superhero giant would do next, and everyone wanted to be a part of it. However, things have been a bit more shaky over the last few years.
The MCU has cancelled acclaimed projects, shifted its plans, and lost its long-standing impeccable critic record with the arrival of its fourth phase. On the other hand, the superhero video game industry suffered the moment Marvel's Avengers failed to meet expectations, forever tarnishing the image of other upcoming titles such as Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Bautista has now proven to be an established star in Hollywood with several superhit movies. Apart from his in-ring fame, his character Drax in the Marvel Universe has cemented his legacy on the silver screen, and he continues to pack powerful punches in all the roles that he has portrayed so far.
Not just on the screens but back in his heyday when he walked down that WWE ramp over and over again, whether it was on a solo run or as a part of the iconic Evolution, teaming up with Randy Orton, Triple H and Ric Flair, he ensured that he was making an impact with every appearance, cutting epic promos and duking out unforgettable bouts in the ring.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a large tapestry of films (and TV series). Focusing on the big-screen side, since its inception, the ambitious superhero universe has experienced something many other franchises in Hollywood have not: quality consistency. With over 30 films and counting, the MCU has typically enjoyed a healthy amount of critical acclaim, which has allowed it to turn increasingly obscure characters into household names.
However, not everything has been a bed of roses for Marvel Studios — particularly in recent years. A considerable amount of its theatrical releases have been either divisive or downright critical duds. Yet, it's safe to say we've all experienced this — we watch a movie that's largely disliked, and we find ourselves liking it to an extent... maybe even enjoying it.
So, I thought it appropriate to ask the question: What's one MCU movie that's disliked/hated, but you actually appreciate? Now, the universe is comprised of 36 films,...

The filmmakers behind Pixar’s latest animated movie, Elio, say Zoe Saldaña was the perfect choice to join the voice cast — and they had several reasons why.
“We’re grateful to have Zoe joining our project. She’s the queen of sci-fi,” says codirector Madeline Sharafian, referring to Saldaña’s iconic roles in Avatar, Star Trek, and Guardians of the Galaxy. “We wanted this film to feel like Pixar’s love letter to sci-fi.”
On Tuesday, Pixar released a new trailer for the film featuring Saldaña in action as aunt Olga. The film follows an 11-year-old boy (voiced by Yonas Kibreab) who is captivated by space and dreams of being abducted by aliens. After the loss of his parents, he goes to live with his aunt Olga, a highly respected U.S. Air Force major. As Olga adjusts to her new role as guardian, she must navigate the demands of military...

The summer of 2025 will mark the 20th anniversary of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The series, which is centered on the infamous Gang that owns the failing Paddy's Pub, helped launch the careers of Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, and Kaitlin Olson. When the second season premiered, the series gained considerable notoriety with the addition of Hollywood legend Danny DeVito, whose mere presence on the series is inherently hilarious. The success of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has led the cast to pursue more exciting opportunities, with Charlie Day perhaps being the most notable of the team, thanks to his roles in high-profile studio films that include comedies such as "Horrible Bosses," action blockbusters like "Pacific Rim," and notable voice work in animated films including "Monsters University," "The Lego Movie," and most recently, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," where he voiced Luigi.

Having completed three full weeks of release, Marvel's Thunderbolts* is feeling the heat of Paramount's Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Disney's Lilo & Stitch remake, both of which opened this past weekend and ate up the majority of theater space. Thunderbolts* had a solid debut some weeks ago, but the superhero movie has since petered off. In fact, it might just fall short of the $400 million mark worldwide and the $200 million mark domestically — only some months ago, Captain America: Brave New World barely managed to scrape past both milestones. Thunderbolts* is still the third-lowest-grossing movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe history, but it has now overtaken one of the most influential superhero movies ever made.
On its fourth Monday of release, which happened to fall on the Memorial Day holiday, Thunderbolts* grossed $2.7 million domestically, and, in doing so, overtook the lifetime global haul of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins.

Dave Bautista "never wanted to be just a movie star".The former WWE legend has swapped wrestling for Hollywood with roles in the likes of 'Guardians of the Galaxy', 'Knock at the Cabin' and 'The Killing Game', and he insisted his movie choices are inspired more by challenging himself as an actor than earning the most money. He told Sports Illustrated: "I never wanted to be just a movie star or chase a paycheque.“I wanted to prove I could stand on stage with the best actors in the world and hold my own. That’s what drives me.”He didn't want to follow in the footsteps of fellow WWE alumni John Cena and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson by simply embracing the "action movie star" tropes. He explained: "I didn’t want to just step away from wrestling and become another action movie star.

It just doesn't feel like a James Gunn project without a Michael Rooker appearance. The actor, who has appeared in all the filmmaker's movies to date, is set to appear in the forthcoming second season of Peacemaker, and his role has just been revealed.
As part of Entertainment Weekly's Summer Preview 2025, Rooker's live-action role in the DC Universe has been unveiled. The actor will portray Red St. Wild in Peacemaker Season 2, with the character set to serve as an antagonist for Peacemaker's eagle sidekick Eagly. Michael Rooker has appeared in pretty much every movie and TV series (even voicing a minor character in Creature Commandos) that James Gunn has worked on so far, so it wasn't exactly a huge surprise when we learned that the Guardians of the Galaxy actor would also have a role in the second season of Peacemaker.
We're not sure anyone will have guessed who he's playing, however.
Rooker had previously appeared as Savant in The Suicide Squad, which led to speculation that he might be set to reprise the role (despite being definitively killed off) in some capacity. It turns out, Rooker is actually playing a new character named Red St. Wild - who will be introduced as a nemesis for Eagly!

Designed to replicate the runaway success of The Fast and the Furious, the action movie xXx was released only a year later, in 2002. It emerged as a hit in its own right, propelling star Vin Diesel to the A-list. Over two decades after its debut, the movie is witnessing a surge in popularity, especially on Wikipedia. On May 26, it was the 11th-most searched title on the website, even though the franchise has been dormant for years, and Diesel hasn't starred in a movie since 2023's Fast X.
According to FlixPatrol, xXxscored over 55,000 hits on May 26, outperforming titles such as Bong Joon Ho's Mickey 17, the wildly successful blockbuster A Minecraft Movie, and even the HBO series The Last of Us, whichrecently concluded its second season. The list was topped by Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, which delivered a franchise-best box office debut this past weekend, grossing a mammoth $190 million worldwide.

Madame Web, the black sheep of Sony's Spider-Man villains universe, was meant to introduce a new group of web-crawlers to fight crime in New York, alongside Peter Parker (Tom Holland). Instead, it gave fans an endless wave of memes, quotable lines, and a future so-bad-it's-good cult classic. The film technically wasn't a part of the wider MCU, thanks to the complicated rights deal between Marvel Studios and Sony. But a scrapped popcorn bucket for the film has revealed how closely the two cinematic universes are linked.
The popcorn bucket was revealed on the aptly named subreddit, r/popcornbuckets. The person posting the photos claims to be a former employee of a movie theater, and said that the theater was sent the buckets and cups, before being told to send them back by the studio. Unlike the crazy popcorn buckets we see now, Madame Web's unreleased one is a standard shape,...

We have heard numerous reports about Sony Pictures' original plans for Madame Web, which - if rumors are to be believed - was going to be set in the same universe as The Amazing Spider-Man at one point before the decision was made to connect the movie to the Ssu (Sony's Spider-Man Universe).
Though it's been said that Tom Holland's take on Peter Parker was going to appear (see Daniel Richtman's post below), Madame Web ultimately turned out to be more of a standalone story with only tenuous ties to the wider Ssu. However, it seems the studio was determined to push a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the early marketing stages.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: once upon a time, in the uncharted territories of deep space, a rag tag group of misfits joined forces to help the denizens of the galaxy resist a fascistic, oppressive peacekeeping force. These misfits are made up of a wisecracking man plucked from his home planet of Earth, a militaristic warrior woman upon whom he has a crush (and the feeling is mutual), a kooky alien with healing properties that even other aliens find bizarre, a muscular brute with a heart of gold, and a bitter little guy who appears to be completely selfish but, deep down, is fiercely loyal.
If you've already asked me to stop and said "those are the Guardians of the Galaxy," well hold your frelling horses, friend: I'm talking about the crew of Moya, the living ship, from the TV series "Farscape." The series, produced by the Jim Henson Company,...

And it’s going to require a lot of help. So, here’s who you need to know.

Rob Zombie was nearly one of the sordid characters running amok in Robert Rodriguez‘s Sin City.
The filmmaker/musician shared the anecdote on Instagram with photos from Spike TV’s 2006 Scream Awards, where The Devil’s Rejects took home the award for Best Horror Movie.
“Robert asked me to play a role in Sin City but I was shooting The Devil’s Rejects at the time and had to decline,” he writes.
It’s unknown what part Zombie would have played — perhaps a Swat team member alongside (or in place of) Rodriguez himself — but it likely would have been a cameo given his busy schedule and inexperience in front of the camera.
Zombie made his big screen debut in Airheads, although he merely played himself as the frontman of White Zombie. He later took on the uncredited role of Dr. Wolfenstein’s assistant in his directorial debut, House of 1000 Corpses.

Zachary Levi was at the peak of his fame with roles in both the Dceu and MCU when he landed himself in controversy. When an X user asked him amid the Covid-19 crisis, “Do you agree or not that Pfizer is a real danger to the world?”, Levi replied, “Hardcore agree.” His anti-vaccine stance has since gotten him a lot of haters.
Interestingly, DC Studio head James Gunn was asked about the controversy at the time, when Levi was still part of the Dceu. Gunn didn’t bash Levi, and clarified that it didn’t make grounds for any strict actions against the actor. Levi also shared that he believed Gunn didn’t throw him under the bus.

In one of the most unexpected reality TV twists this year, a former Marvel Studios heavyweight is heading to the island. Variety has confirmed that Nate Moore, the longtime development executive and producer behind some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest hits, is officially a contestant on Survivor Season 49. A teaser trailer that aired during Wednesday night’s Season 48 finale included a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot of Moore swimming in the ocean. Now, multiple sources have confirmed his casting, making him one of the highest-profile industry names to ever compete on the long-running CBS reality series. Its not the first time a big name in the entertainment industry has competed on the show, as Mike White was also a contestant long-before he created the mega-popular The White Lotus.
It's a huge change from Moore's normal life, or should we say his previous life, behind the camera. He joined Marvel Studios...

A trailer for Season 49 that aired on CBS during Wednesday night’s Season 48 finale includes a split-second shot of Moore swimming in the ocean. Variety has confirmed with multiple sources that Moore did indeed participate in the season.

Wow, what an unforgettable year WWE had in 2002! Vince McMahon changed the game by signing a true class of game changers. To be fair, he pulled in future Hall of Famers like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and Batista from Ohio Valley Wrestling (Ovw) development territory, and he turned these guys into household names.
Those four men had competition from other highly talented individuals in WWE, like Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, and The Undertaker, but Vince knew talent when he saw it. All of these superstars have gone on to have tremendous careers that include titles, feuds, and moments that will forever be a part of WWE.
Individual careers and Vince McMahon’s vision
Ohio Valley Wrestling was a catalyst for superstars in 2002. John Cena was the best of all time. We all get to read about him as the face of WWE for the biggest chunk of his unparalleled 17 world championships.

Suicide Squad and Dceu star Jai Courtney has expressed interest in a potential return as the fan-favorite supervillain Captain Boomerang in James Gunn’s rebooted Dcu. While he’s not sure if it will ever really happen, Courtney declared in an exclusive interview with MovieWeb’s own George Edelman that “of course” he would “be there.”
Following the deeply divisive Dceu, for which the equally divisive Zack Snyder was the figurehead, the world of DC is all set to be rebooted by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, beginning with this year’s Superman. Jai Courtney was introduced as the villainous Captain Boomerang in 2016’s Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer, and quickly stole the show as the sleazy thief who uses deadly boomerangs to cut through his enemies.

Ah, when you’re dealing with two Chrises who are equal parts superhero and stand-up comic, you realize sarcasm is their superpower too. It was a rare, almost cinematic delight: a press room charged with comic timing and the kind of unfiltered banter that publicists usually dream of editing out. Chris Hemsworth, ever the charming hammer-slinger, boldly labeled Captain America “boring”, while Chris Evans laughed like he had nothing to lose.
What could’ve been a sterile promotional interview for Avengers: Age of Ultron turned into a bromantic roast session full of jests, jabs, and joy. And somewhere between the laughter, you caught a glimpse of two actors who are anything but their characters, and yet, weirdly, just like them.

With the release of "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" at the end of 2023, the former DC Universe, dubbed the Dceu (aka the Snyderverse) died. What comes next? Welcome to the new DC Universe, which is being headed up by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy and the accomplished producer are ushering in a new era for DC, one that began last year with the release of the animated "Creature Commandos" on HBO Max. But what comes after that in this new timeline? Is it going to be difficult to follow? At least for now, it's remarkably simple.
Recently, a fan on Threads asked Gunn if they are going to create a new Dcu timeline on Max, not unlike the one Disney+ has for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gunn responded and clarified the new Dcu timeline as it currently exists. It's remarkably straightforward...

James Gunn’s Supermantrailer came and got fans excited with a tease of lots of heroes and secret villains inhibiting David Corenswet-led feature. Fans got a good look at Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), chemistry between Clark and Lois (Rachel Brosnahan) Krypto among other things. With the new trailer, eagle eyed fans noticed many new things and started theorizing about the presence of various hidden characters.
So, when one fan theorized that the new trailer hides, Bizarro, the character that was created as a mirror image to Superman and has often been portrayed as an antagonist to Superman, while on occasion taking on an antihero role, Gunn was quick to correct the fan, “Haha it's Superman. It's real photography of David,” he remarked on social media. Gunn not only dismissed a theory gaining traction among fans but he also got their attention towards the fact that the feature have been mostly shot practically.

James Gunn told one of the Dceu veteran actors that there's hope his character could return in the future, even though they died on-screen. The actor was Jai Courtney, who played Captain Boomerang in The Suicide Squad.
Speaking with Variety, Courtney spoke about his conversation with Gunn about the fate of Captain Boomerang, and how Gunn made it clear there's still a way for the character to return. "I was like, 'Come on, man. Boomerang is cool,'" Courtney said to Gunn after reading the script for the 2021 movie The Suicide Squad and seeing that his character died.
"James is like, 'You know these rules don't really apply. Just because he dies here doesn’t mean it’s gone forever, right?' And I was like, 'Hell yeah.' So I have hope. Somewhere in the back of my mind, there’s a prayer that we’ll see more of Boomerang one day.

By the sound of it, Jai Courtney hasn’t completely thrown his boomerang for the last time. Or maybe he's just waiting for it to come back. After taking a step back from big studio films to focus on family and personal renewal, the Suicide Squad actor is back in the spotlight with Dangerous Animals, a serial killer-meets-shark thriller premiering July 23. But even as he embraces darker material (and dances after his character’s kills), Courtney still can’t shake the charm of one of his most beloved — and certifiably unhinged — roles: Captain Boomerang.
In a new interview with Variety, Courtney reflected on playing the wild-eyed Aussie criminal in both Suicide Squad (2016) and The Suicide Squad (2021), and shared that while Boomerang seemingly met a gory end in James Gunn’s reboot, there might still be life in the DC antihero yet. “I was like, ‘Come on, man. The Dceu began with ambitious plans to match the success of the MCU, with Warner Bros. aiming to bring iconic DC characters to the big screen over a decade. Despite financial success, Snyder’s darker vision for the characters didn’t resonate with audiences, leading to the eventual reboot with James Gunn’s Dcu. While some Dceu films were well-received, others were considered significant flops.
Fans have compiled their picks for the 10 worst Dceu movies. Let’s dive into their selections.
10. ‘The Suicide Squad’ (2021)
After the mixed reception of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad (2016), expectations were high for James Gunn’s take on the franchise. However, some fans were disappointed as the film didn’t meet their expectations or align with their preferences. Gunn’s signature irreverent humor and over-the-top style, which were successful in movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, didn’t resonate with everyone, contributing to its place in the “top 10 worst” rankings.
