Netflix's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel has added two prominent stars to its cast. Brad Pitt is already confirmed to be reprising his role of Cliff Booth in the David Fincher-directed film, which will serve as a follow-up to the adventures of the fan-favorite Quentin Tarantino character. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan have now joined the cast as well. Both Debicki and Caan's roles remain under wraps. There are reportedly two key female roles, with one character running a bar and mud wrestling establishment and the other being a trophy wife, but it is unconfirmed if Debicki will be playing either of these characters. Caan's involvement marks a reunion with Pitt, as the two of them starred in the Ocean's Eleven movie trilogy together.

Having completed three full weeks of release, Marvel's Thunderbolts* is feeling the heat of Paramount's Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Disney's Lilo & Stitch remake, both of which opened this past weekend and ate up the majority of theater space. Thunderbolts* had a solid debut some weeks ago, but the superhero movie has since petered off. In fact, it might just fall short of the $400 million mark worldwide and the $200 million mark domestically — only some months ago, Captain America: Brave New World barely managed to scrape past both milestones. Thunderbolts* is still the third-lowest-grossing movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe history, but it has now overtaken one of the most influential superhero movies ever made.

It just doesn't feel like a James Gunn project without a Michael Rooker appearance. The actor, who has appeared in all the filmmaker's movies to date, is set to appear in the forthcoming second season of Peacemaker, and his role has just been revealed.

As part of Entertainment Weekly's Summer Preview 2025, Rooker's live-action role in the DC Universe has been unveiled. The actor will portray Red St. Wild in Peacemaker Season 2, with the character set to serve as an antagonist for Peacemaker's eagle sidekick Eagly. "His name is Red St. Wild, and he's the world's foremost eagle hunter who is on a mission to kill Eagly," shared Gunn. "We thought Eagly was probably the most popular character from season 1, and so in season 2, he has his own story with his nemesis, played by none other than the despicable Michael Rooker." The filmmaker/musician shared the anecdote on Instagram with photos from Spike TV’s 2006 Scream Awards, where The Devil’s Rejects took home the award for Best Horror Movie.

“Robert asked me to play a role in Sin City but I was shooting The Devil’s Rejects at the time and had to decline,” he writes.

It’s unknown what part Zombie would have played — perhaps a Swat team member alongside (or in place of) Rodriguez himself — but it likely would have been a cameo given his busy schedule and inexperience in front of the camera.

Now, multiple sources have confirmed his casting, making him one of the highest-profile industry names to ever compete on the long-running CBS reality series. James Gunn told one of the Dceu veteran actors that there's hope his character could return in the future, even though they died on-screen. The actor was Jai Courtney, who played Captain Boomerang in The Suicide Squad.

Speaking with Variety, Courtney spoke about his conversation with Gunn about the fate of Captain Boomerang, and how Gunn made it clear there's still a way for the character to return. "I was like, 'Come on, man. Boomerang is cool,'" Courtney said to Gunn after reading the script for the 2021 movie The Suicide Squad and seeing that his character died.

"James is like, 'You know these rules don't really apply. Just because he dies here doesn’t mean it’s gone forever, right?' And I was like, 'Hell yeah.' So I have hope. Somewhere in the back of my mind, there’s a prayer that we’ll see more of Boomerang one day.
