Chupacabras, Bigfoots, and zombies, hell to-the- yes. If only Rockstar would actually release a DLC like this again, but obviously repetitive online gaming is the best new thing (not really). This was peak Rockstar dlc though. So many cool things to do, interesting things to find, including unicorns, and a cool, final farewell to John Marston. Loved this conclusion, loved the insanity.
'Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare (2010)' is an expandalone entry in the 'Red Dead' franchise. It focuses on a zombie outbreak in the old west and sees the world of 'Red Dead Redemption (2010)' transformed into a hellish landscape. The piece has a story of its own. This time, the focus is wholly on satire. That's fine, though. As usual, the thing always finds a way to bring the mood back down, too. The narrative is nowhere near as compelling as that of the main game, but it serves its purpose and is breezy enough to never get tiresome. The gameplay is the main priority. It feels distinct because the enemies are all a lot more aggressive and can take more damage. Even the animals are bile-spewing zombies. It's an interesting world, filled with all manner of supernatural occurrence, and it's enjoyable to roam around in. The game is actually a lot of fun. It's probably one of the better zombie games I've played, actually. It isn't as good as the main title, but it's entertaining throughout. 8/10
It's no secret that the original Red Dead Redemption was an amazing game. And what does every amazing game need? Zombies! So does Undead Nightmare live up to it's original or is it truly a Nightmare?
The year is 1914 and John Marston is trying to get his life back in order after having to kill his former friends. Just when he thinks everything will work out a zombie plague sweeps over the Western frontier. After his wife and son become infected John ties them up and heads out to find a cure.
One of the best things about Undead Nightmare is how it's so similar yet so different from the original Red Dead Redemption. The zombies are very different from your standard outlaws. For one almost all of them fight hand to hand which makes cover less important than finding higher ground. They also need to be taken down with shots to the head as they take a lot of bullets to kill and ammo is limited. You'll come into towns from the original game overrun by zombies that you'll have to kill if you want information, ammo, a place to sleep, and fast travel from as you can no longer fast travel from camps.
The game looks great. Everything about the games presentation from the voice acting, sound track, landscapes, and the disgusting sound of a zombies head exploding perfectly immerse you in the game.
If there is one downside to the game is that there's so little variety. Sure there are different breeds of zombies and new horses but if you play one hour of Undead Nightmare, you've played all of it. But this is a small grievance when what's here is so well done.

Remember when Rockstar actually put effort into their DLCs? We had no idea we were living in a short golden age (as far as DLC is concerned) between GTA IV and RDR.
Calling this a zombie reskin is far too simplified of a statement. This alternate storyline blew doors off hinges when it came to DLC expectations. For a measly 20 bucks, most of us felt like we were getting a brand new game!
Best DLC of all time!

I loved the Red dead games and I just finished playing undead nightmare it's amazing a great expansion to the series it's takes all of the original characters from the first game and puts them into the zombies apocalypse it's the same open world as the first game but with zombies everywhere and you get to see what characters from the first game survived the zombie apocalypse! A great fun DLC to play.

- WissenswertesRob Wiethoff was asked to reprise his role of John Marston, but said no multiple times. Eventually Rob agreed to do it, but only if the recording sessions were done at his farm, so he could stay close to his family and work.
- Crazy CreditsUnlike the base game, there aren't any end or intro credits at all in this DLC.
