A special from Akira Toriyama's manga that is worth giving a chance. It has a comedy very much in the style of the mangaka, as well as a lot of essence from some characters in the Dragon Ball universe, and honestly, it's pure entertainment.
In terms of animation, I find it to be quite decent work, maintaining that level of detail from the manga, its line work, the color tones of various characters, and those movement sequences. Takahiro Imamura delivered a well-executed direction.
Unfortunately, it has a duration of 15 minutes, but with a few more, it would have been a unique experience. Since the most outstanding aspect is its dark comedy with a focus on the sensual. Characteristic points of Toriyama in many of his works and well-known characters that contribute to these similarities. Regarding its musicalization, it accompanies at all times what the special conveys, being appropriate and feasible.
Ackman is a rather curious protagonist due to his personality and the way he does things. Visually, he is just like Trunks with a sword included, but he has a lot of essence of Master Roshi, Yamcha, and Oolong, emphasizing his perverted side.
The comedy is a clear representation of Akira Toriyama, present from the start, and you might enjoy it or not. So much so that he himself mocks the Super Saiyan transformation. It has a great surprise at the end that will undoubtedly surprise many.
It can also be mentioned that this work is a heavy joke on what angels and demons represent. Giving another plot twist from a strong comedic approach, as it portrays the fact of death as something unimportant, as well as the lives of human beings, and minimizes the status of divine characters. On the other hand, that message about greed and the acquisition of money over unusual events. Even so, it's worth appreciating this special if you want to have a little laugh.
It's not for kids.
