The 9th Circle

As an avid horror movie fan, this is one of the greatest horror shorts that I have ever seen by far. I was able to see this movie at the BackSeat Film Festival in Philadelphia. Not knowing much about the experience of the director of The 9th Circle, he seems to have an extraordinary talent at what he does and I hope to be seeing other films from him in the future. Supposedly, he even did all the make up effects which is really cool.

The beginning scene would definitely put viewers on edge as it did to me when I watched it. It was indeed nerve racking when the clown appears to the girl. It makes you think: is it psychological? is this really happening? Scary thought. Clowns have never bothered me before, but now, I'll be having nightmares about that clown for awhile.

The end of the film gets pretty disturbing. There is a scene that is quite unexpected. It is jaw dropping, shocking, incredible, can't believe it's in a movie type of scene. All in all a real treat for horror fans.

Just got done watching The 9th Circle, the 2008 short film directed by Damien Leone and the first appearance for Art the Clown, and this was a decent little short film.

Positives for The 9th Circle (2008): Art the Clown's first onscreen appearance was just as awesome as I expected it to be. It was very interesting to see where Damien Leone began in his filmmaking career before he became a big name in the horror community. And finally, this short film is free to watch on YouTube.

Negatives for The 9th Circle (2008): There wasn't enough Art the Clown in this short. I also couldn't understand what the characters were saying. And finally, I watched to see more of this short film.

Overall, The 9th Circle (2008) is a good start to Damien Leone's filmmaking career.

This short film is, in my opinion, the best of the All Hallows Eve trio. I prefer older horror films and find most of the recent ones boring or repetitive. This was refreshing. It actually scared the hell out of me upon my first watch! Since then, I've become a big fan of Damien Leone and Art the clown. Many folks prefer the newer full length film, Terrifier. It's also a brilliant film but my heart belongs to the first film and, particularly, this short film that kicks it all off.

This 11 minute short film is the birth of what is now the most freaky, horrifying clown known to man. Penny-wise move on over... Art has taken the crown!

Lastly, a good lil tip for if you ever come face to face with Art the Clown... RUN!!! He does not die... EVER!

FYI: All Hallows Eve 2 really isn't much about Art the Clown but it is part of the series and worth the watch!

Also, All Hallows Eve 3 has came out already been released, from what I've heard & read, it has no Art the Clown in this one either so I see no reason to watch it in succession with the others. I will be watching it myself soon though!

Last but not least!... Terrifier 3 is set to come out sometime this year!!! The film cover you can find here on IMDB. There's a Christmas tree on the cover so my assumption is that it will be released sometime before Christmas! Possibly after Thanksgiving! But I only know for sure that it's set for release in 2024! And this horror flick lovin chick can't wait!

The 9th circle by Damien Leone is a twisted adaption of Dante's Inferno,where an innocent girl gets caught off guard and knocked unconscious by a demented clown. She awakens to find herself in a hellish (or Hell?) situation,where she is to serve as Satan's sacrifice. Demonic creatures approach her,before she escapes for the time being,only to be caught again. Why she is picked is unknown,but that's what makes it so disturbing,it's a nightmare that all women have in today's times where this sort of thing can happen to anyone.
