Kôri no sekai

I JUST finished Ice World now and I really liked it. The plot was absolutely Incredible. I binged it in 2 days. It hooked me as it was so addictive, it kept me guessing all the time. The first episode is a bit messy imo with lotta things happening with several characters around. It was more like a setup for things to come. But once you get past it, the Intensity never stops. I also liked how they integrated romance into the story. The characters were great, I liked them all. You could get behind all of them and they all had their own moments and developments. The OST was some of the best I've heard and that was what brought me to this show in the first place. The composer Taro Iwashiro also composed for Red Cliff. The biggest disappointment was the killer's identity. While it was shocking, I'm still trying to figure whether it even made sense or not. I'm not sure. Otherwise a solid show for something so old now.

Captivating storytelling and multifaceted characters, making it a standout in the world of Japanese dramas. The drama had a good mystery plot but there were a few things that held it back. The pacing was alright but the lack of a sensible urgency messed up the flow a bit. The drama overdone it with the amount of repetition sprinkled throughout beyond what could been considered functional for a mystery piece, it didn't contribute to the story/characters/themes/atmosphere, just plain repetition, relaying the same information countless times. The cinematography and music further enriched the experience, capturing the drama's haunting and enigmatic mood, however, it could've benefited more from a more unified color palette with its own signature. While it was a great mystery drama but I wish the characters had a better dynamic between them and maybe some deeper involvement of other characters.

This is one of the best Japanese drama television series. I have seen this 12-episode drama show at least three times and I just cannot get enough. Highly recommended for those who love suspenseful shows that you cannot figure out the ending. By the by, it does not hurt that Takenouchi Yutaka is cute as a button.
