Watching this show after finding out it was filmed in the city I grew up in! I actually watched them filming a scene on Jacksonville's west side. The show was not all that great, but it was not half bad, either. I think it had a feel-good vibe and it was not suppose to really be anything more than that. I can recall taking my son to see as many of the places they filmed in and trying to see if we could meet Jack Scalia! It seemed to me, we ALWAYS "just missed him"! But we had fun trying to get there in time. (Not like they published film scheduling so we could figure it out!) I do not think we ever really DID get to every place where they filmed, but we sure had fun trying! My favourite place they filmed was in Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park! They filmed at the Dolphin Plaza on the beach. We went there a few days later, but we missed the actual filming. :(
This will always be one of my all-time favorite television series. Jack Scalia was excellant as ex-con Constantine "Connie" Harper, providing justice for victims of crime week after week. Well-written scripts, excellent cast, and solid action combined to make another example of a great series that was cancelled WAY too early. At least it got to finish a full season. Watch it next time it's on.
This excellent TV series was one of the finest shows ever made. It had sun, action, extremely beautiful settings in sunny California and some really interesting storylines. All this together with a dynamite handsome Jack Scalia who was absolutely perfect for the part, this is one extremely handsome actor that only can be surpassed by Roger Moore in looks.
The series is about an ex banker that tries to help people who are in trouble. The last episode for example was probably the best thing I`ve ever seen on a TV show, I`ve never seen anything like it, the episode had a terrific and interesting story.
Too bad the series only had 24 episodes before it got cancelled. When I think about TV series like One West Waikiki starring Richard Burgi and Cheryl Ladd and MR. & MRs. Smith (13 episodes) also got cancelled before it even started I get really frustrated. All of these was terrific series that should have been around for a long time.

The show was actually filmed in Jacksonville, Florida.
The city in which the show was set was never mentioned. It was implied in several scenes that the setting was California. In one scene "Connie" is running on the beach at sunset with the sun setting over the ocean (I'm sure they filmed at sunrise for the effect).
The restaurant where "Connie" hung out was a Miami Subs franchise in Baymeadows.
The office lobby shown in one episode was the lobby of the Independent Life Tower in downtown Jacksonville (visible in several cityscape photographs taken for the Super Bowl).

The basis of this whole terrible series was that Connie was an ex con sent to prison yadda yadda yadda. Well while in prison he made a few friends and each week they or a family member or someone would find him on a beach and ask him for help. Usually they would lie to him at the start then they'd get shot at then there'd be the final confrontation and Connie would get the girl. Don't get me wrong I love those shows especially Magnum P.I but Pointman is just terrible. No one on the show could act, the scripts were always filled with cliches and stolen ideas and the rest just seemed to be done on the day. All in all a bad show but who cares, I doubt if anyone will ever look at this page, I only came here to bag the show, what's your excuse?
