A middle aged executive (played by the likable Heinz Erhardt) wants to play cupid to his beautiful daughter and a shy middle-management employee (Harald Juhnke), so the trio take a vacation on a small, uninhabited Italian island. Along with a young engaged couple, who are on the same island, everyone is soon entangled in a stupid robbery plot. Trude Herr plays the wife of a local police constable. The fact that she is a kleptomaniac with clever talents to cover her tracks is played up as amusing. Silly songs are slipped in to make the whole story less boring.
If you decide to see this turkey, look for a bit-part played by Gus Backus, an American who had a brief singing/acting career in Germany. He sang "Wooden Heart" in German, before Elvis Presley gave it a go. Here Backus is just another piece in a nauseating puzzle. There really are no redeeming qualities about this forgettable movie. Find the catchy title song on an old 45rm record, but don't put yourself through watching 85 minutes of a really bad film.
Still the actors and the theme (also title of the movie) are quite good to say the least. The plot not so much. The macho theme throughout and the sexism or rather not pc friendly portrayal of women (mostly), may also get this into trouble with some. I always have to remind myself when I watch older movies that they had different ... let's call them priorities. That doesn't mean that the women in this are just here to look good (although some may not even feel that, considering the age of the movie, the clothes and hairdos and all that)! No they also have something to say and be mad about ... the last thing again not always pc friendly ... try to remember that and maybe give this some slack ... otherwise you probably should just avoid this
A good example of Franz Antel's bad taste (in the 70's he would be responsible for a number of "Tiroler sex movies") and of the decline of German/Austrian cinema in the 60's. Forget this one.
There is the title song by Bill Ramsay, that was and still is very popular.
There are some screwball elements, some musical interludes, some good jokes, more bad jokes, some silly side plots and of course, a happy end.
It's nothing more than light, predictable, dull entertainment from a movie from the 60s.
If you have nothing else to do and are interested in a german classic from the 60s, you might give it a watch on a rainy sunday afternoon.

Marion Keyser: [Marion Keyser is flirting with Barbara's boyfriend Michael, when Barbara shows up.] I don't cook as well as a certain other person?
Barbara Holstein: Can I speak to you for a moment, Michael? Only when Miss Keyser has left.
Marion Keyser: So, it is about me?
Barbara Holstein: Yes.
Marion Keyser: Good. Feel free to keep talking, I am not sensitive.
Barbara Holstein: [sarcastically] Oh, I noticed that.
