This is not a LGBTQ movie, but rather an Interesting story about friendship that could have been really good if better effort was made to develop characters and their motivation. Script is VERY MESSY and many things simply don't make any sense! The gay character is so badly written and his story is nonsensical; after a fight w/his abusive father, he directs his anger at the main character (whom he has avoided for years).
I enjoyed watching, but afterwards felt quite disappointed while thinking about the many plot gaps, unanswered questions and awful writing.

In an age where a good majority of teenagers across the states suffer from all kinds of stress and hardships from all sorts of factors, this film in my opinion is an extremely important film to watch not just for them, but also for anyone that has gone through what the characters unfortunately go through in the story. I loved the contrasting tone of the film, and how it's balanced very spaciously. There are both light-hearted and feel-good moments that make the dark and serious moments even more greater, and they are both done with a great deal of realism, whether it be from the acting, or the characters themselves. I think others should absolutely watch this film for all the issues and discussions that can be taken away. No one theme in this film is unimportant, and there's bound to be at least one character or theme that is somewhat relatable to every viewer. The music especially was one of the most amazing aspects of the film, as it really acts as a branching point in better understanding our characters and their mindset. When a character's mind is scrambled with undesirable thoughts, the music is sure to get that feeling in a very effectively uncomfortable way. Overall, I really enjoyed this film and I would urge anyone from teens to adults to check it out and find a connection with one of the many themes and characters in here. I would rate it a solid 8/10.
I really enjoyed this. While not really groundbreaking, the cast seemed to really believe in their roles. The ending was unexpected and really got me emotional.
The dynamics between the characters were also laudibly presented in my opinion, not making everything revolve around sex like so many high school movies.
I would really recommend this to anyone who struggled in high school, had issues with their parents and - most interesting regarding this movie - met someone who really helped them through that period or even just wished they did meet such a person (this is my case and the movie really made an impression on me).
This movie is so inspiring the way it contributes to things that still be happening today like bullying I just love it good job Garrett Clayton 👏👍😁
This film has an identity crisis with its convoluted writing and screenplay that took away from the films message. The pace was too slow and that awful unbearable score made it more evident. Considering there were 3 novice writers, you'd think at least one of them would have fine-tuned the screenplay. The acting was mainly sub-par/amateurish with the exception of Johnny James Fiore, who was adequate. Others were stale or ridiculously overboard. Leif Rokesh directed this film fairly decent considering it's his first notch in film making, but he would have shined if the editing was better. Granted, this was a low budget indie film, but I feel it could have been much better with a little fine tuning and getting rid of that awful score and soundtrack to elevate it from being bland, into having some or little life. Nevertheless, still a noble attempt for a C-grade indie film. 6/10 from me
