Will Poulter to Star in Netflix Romance 'Saturn Return' with Charles Melton and Rachel Brosnahan
Image
One of Will Poulter's next movie projects has been announced. Poulter has been an actor for over a decade now, but he's been getting more and more visibility lately. One of his roles this year was returning to his Emmy-nominated guest acting part in The Bear for season 4.

Poulter was also in several other projects this year. He was one of the villain characters in Death of a Unicorn, an A24 horror comedy which got mixed reviews and bombed at the box office. In addition to The Bear, he made another TV appearance in Black Mirror season 7.

As per Deadline, Poulter is joining forces with one of his co-stars from another major 2025 movie.

Channing Tatum Teases Mind-Blowing Avengers: Doomsday And Addresses Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool Rumors
Image
Channing Tatum's Gambit movie spent years in limbo, undergoing multiple rewrites and director changes before the Disney/Fox merger ultimately led to the project being scrapped.

With that, Tatum's dreams of playing the Cajun mutant ended. However, when the time came for Deadpool & Wolverine to populate The Void with Variants, Ryan Reynolds wasted no time in turning to his longtime friend, allowing Tatum to finally play a comic-accurate Remy LeBeau.

Deadpool & Wolverine ended by teasing Gambit's return, and Tatum will fight alongside the X-Men in next December's Avengers: Doomsday.

That's more than the actor could have hoped for in the early 2010s, and while we don't know...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Box Office – Outgrosses Venom Sequel & Now Closing In On An Iconic Terminator Movie
Image
Fantastic Four: First Steps Box Office Surpasses Venom Sequel, Now Eyeing Terminator 2’s Lifetime Earnings ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

With a worldwide tally of $508.8 million, the latest Fantastic Four reboot is the only MCU title of 2025 to turn a profit at the box office (based on the 2.5x multiplier rule). The year’s earlier Marvel releases, Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World, both fell short of their break-even marks. As of now, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has earned about $8.8 million beyond its $500 million break-even point. The question now is how much profit the Pedro Pascal–starrer can ultimately deliver.

After recently outgrossing several well-known films such as Aladdin (1992), Troy...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Box Office: Surpasses Two Marvel Hits To Enter Top 40 Superhero Films In North America!
Image
Fantastic Four: First Steps Box Office Crosses $508M, Climbs Into Top 40 Biggest Superhero Films List ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is slowly finding its ground after a shaky beginning at the box office. The early days brought in a weak response, but with time the movie has managed to climb up and now sits at a far more respectable position. Even though it has not come close to carrying the legacy of Marvel’s first family in the way fans might have expected, the film has crossed a significant milestone, moving past the domestic totals of two major Marvel outings before the arrival of the latest weekend.

Marvel's Fantastic Four just set a 2025 MCU record
Image
There was a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the undisputed king of the box office. The superhero giant took risks left and right by greenlighting movies starring characters with which general audiences were unfamiliar. Most of those projects, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, were released to critical acclaim and quickly became classics within the superhero genre. Even when some films failed to resonate with audiences (such as Eternals), they still managed to turn a profit. However, things have been different as of late.

Make no mistake, Deadpool & Wolverine proved that the MCU is still capable of producing high-quality movies that gross over a billion dollars. Unfortunately, 2025 hasn't...

Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds On Rumored Avengers: Doomsday Return: "[I Haven't] Set Foot On Set"
Image
Last month, Ryan Reynolds sent speculation into overdrive when he shared an Avengers logo that had been vandalized with graffiti, and we'd later get confirmation (or so we thought) that Deadpool will indeed return to the MCU for Avengers: Doomsday.

Though THR claimed that Reynolds will reprise his role as the Merc With a Mouth for Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated event film, Deadline seemed less certain. Various scoopers have since reported that Deadpool is "100%" in the movie, but we probably won't know for sure until the next cast announcement.

While promoting his new John Candy doc at TIFF (via EW), Reynolds was asked about the various Candy Easter eggs in Deadpool,...

Avengers 5 (2026)
Ryan Reynolds says he hasn’t stepped foot on the set of Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers 5 (2026)
Avengers: Doomsday seems to be absolutely packed with characters from across the Marvel Multiverse, but will Ryan Reynolds appear as Deadpool? A report from THR last month stated that Deadpool would be returning for the film, but Deadline disagreed, saying the character won’t appear in any of the upcoming Avengers movies.

Reynolds is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote John Candy: I Like Me, the documentary about the iconic Canadian comedian he produced with director Colin Hanks. (You can check out a review of the doc from our own Chris Bumbray right here.) While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds was asked about the John Candy Easter eggs he put into Deadpool,...

As work continues on Avengers: Doomsday in the UK, more actors are wrapping up shooting their respective roles in the highly anticipated first half of the Multiverse Saga's finale.

Which 2025 Marvel Films Are Profitable – Does The Fantastic Four: First Steps Make The Cut?
Image
Marvel 2025 Earnings: Fantastic Four: First Steps Crosses $500M While Others Fall Short ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

For the past four years, a Marvel title has consistently landed among the top five global box office hits. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) all secured spots on the list.

But 2025 tells a different story. The year’s highest-grossing film so far is the Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha II, followed by Disney’s sci-fi comedy Lilo & Stitch, the fantasy adventure A Minecraft Movie, Jurassic World: Rebirth, and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon.

Marvel’s three 2025 releases,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Concept Art Reveals Animated Versions Of Marvel's First Family
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps' mid-credits scene sets the stage for Avengers: Doomsday with a tantalising glimpse of Doctor Doom as he ominously approaches young Franklin Richards.

The second stinger was less of a must-see, as it featured the animated introduction to an in-universe cartoon starring Marvel's First Family. That's where The Thing's catchphrase, "It's Clobberin' Time," originated, and the opening also included several of the team's classic foes.

Marvel Studios artist Joshua James Shaw has shared the work he did on a sequence that was originally supposed to be part of the montage at the start of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

"The lines on these taper a bit...

Paul Mescal To Do Own Singing As Paul McCartney In Beatles Biopic
Image
Paul Mescal explains one key element of his portrayal of Paul McCartney in the upcoming biopic The Beatles - Four Films project. Director Sam Mendes is currently developing not one, but four films based on the legendary band. Each biopic movie will focus on a different member of the Fab Four, telling the story from their perspective.

Mescal will play Paul McCartney, one of the two surviving members of the Beatles today. He is joined by a cast that includes Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. At the moment, all four movies are set for a theatrical release in April 2028.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps BTS Photo Shows Ralph Ineson Fully Transformed Into Galactus
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman utilised many practical filmmaking effects for the movie, including a real costume for Galactus actor Ralph Ineson.

We've already seen a few behind-the-scenes shots of that, but a new photo has surfaced on social media showing the Nosferatu star in full costume as the Devourer of Worlds. Ineson's Galactus looks suitably formidable here, and while visual effects were used in the movie, much of the actor's performance was clearly real.

During The Fantastic Four: First Steps' final act, Sue Storm and the Silver Surfer stranded the villain on the other side of the universe, meaning it will take him millions of years to return to Earth.

Doctor Strange Star Benedict Cumberbatch On Not Getting A Chair During Avengers: Doomsday Cast Reveal

Marvel Studios announced the Avengers: Doomsday cast in a five-hour reveal video released in March, but some huge names were missing from that list.

Kevin Feige has suggested that more announcements will be made in the future, and with Earth's Mightiest Heroes not set to assemble in theatres again until next December, we could be waiting a while. In the meantime, a few actors have been semi-confirmed for the movie, including Benedict Cumberbatch.

At the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the former Sorcerer Supreme travelled to the Dark Dimension alongside Clea to deal with an Incursion he'd supposedly caused. That dangling plot thread hasn't been resolved,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Box Office: Pedro Pascal’s Film Set To Surpass An 83%-Rated Marvel Hit
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Box Office(Photo Credit –Facebook)

With a worldwide tally of $508.2 million, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has become 2025’s first Marvel release to cross the $500 million mark. Although it has fallen short of initial expectations, the Pedro Pascal–starrer still ranks as the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2025. First Steps is trailing behind Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s $598 million, a target that remains out of reach for the critically acclaimed superhero movie.

Having overtaken Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage, First Steps is now eyeing the lifetime global total of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man (2015), which holds an impressive 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Sees A 187% Ticket Sale Increase From Previous Monday On Labor Day
Image
Much to the chagrin of Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is shaping up to be a moderate hit at the worldwide box office (current projections point to it ending its run with around $520 million).

Labor Day gave the latest Marvel Studios movie a boost in the U.S., with a $1.6 million haul for its sixth Monday in theaters. That may not sound like much, but it's a massive 187% increase from the previous Monday, even though The Fantastic Four: First Steps lost 405 theaters last Friday.

This brings the reboot's current domestic haul to $266.4 million, with a revised estimated final run of $275 million. If this is the new norm for non-event MCU movies,...

Avengers: Doomsday Star Channing Tatum Teases Big [Spoiler] Battle; Says Gambit Won't Go "Full Cajun"
Image
Channing Tatum is set to reprise his Deadpool and Wolverine role as Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, but it sounds like the Ragin' Cajun will be taken a little more seriously when he makes his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though he did get to flex his action muscles in an exciting set piece, Tatum largely played Remy Lebeau for laughs in the recent R-rated movie (Wade Wilson not being able to understand his thick accent was a running joke). However, the Magic Mike star has now revealed that he won't be going "full Cajun" for Doomsday.

During an interview with Variety, Tatum said that studio executives “really had to...

Is Warfare Based On a True Story? HBO Max Streaming Guide, and Cast Details
Image
Warfare is a 2025 war drama that is indeed based on a true story. It draws directly from veteran Ray Mendoza’s real-life experience during his mission in Ramadi, Iraq, which occurred on November 19, 2006 (via Time). The movie does not fictionalize or romanticize the events, but reconstructs them and shows us how the Navy SEALs lived through it.

The story follows Alpha One Platoon, who are positioned in an Iraqi home as insurgents close in. Due to a grenade attack, their sniper, Elliot Miller, is injured, and this leads to a desperate need for evacuation, causing chaos and casualties. Miller can no longer speak and no longer remembers the mission, and...

'Avengers: Doomsday' Star Won't Be Going "Full Deadpool" After MCU Debut

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Overtakes Robin Williams' 96% Rt Disney Movie at the Global Box Office
Image
Following a shaky period for the MCU, the announcement of Avengers: Doomsday and more was seemingly certain to get things back on track. Add to that the brilliant quartet of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel's brand-new First Family releasing in the summer of 2025, and many thought the MCU was about to find its stride once again. Alas, despite strong critical and audience reception, The Fantastic Four: First Steps has underwhelmed at the box office, pointing to greater issues in cinema's highest-grossing franchise.

Nevertheless, the movie is still taking home more than $1 million per day domestically, despite having now been in theaters for almost six weeks.

Rumor: Doctor Doom's Mission In Avengers: Doomsday Has Been Revealed (And It's Bad News For [Spoiler])
Image
Much of Avengers: Doomsday remains shrouded in secrecy, though there are plenty of rumours still doing the rounds. It won't be until next December that we learn whether they're accurate, but it's good to have something to speculate about while we wait for official updates.

So far, we've been able to piece together at least some of Doctor Doom's mission. It seems the villain believes he's on a mission to "save" the Multiverse, and that Steve Rogers' actions in Avengers: Endgame—which saw him travel back in time for a happy ending with Peggy Carter—are the cause of the Incursions plaguing the Multiverse.

We know He Who Remains created a singular Sacred Timeline,...

The Stranger Things Character You Forgot Outer Banks Star Madelyn Cline Played

Over the course of its run, "Stranger Things" has featured appearances by several actors who've since gone on to become much bigger names. Joseph Quinn, for example, stole the show in season 4 as Hellfire Club leader Eddie Munson before playing Johnny Storm in "The Fantastic Four: First Steps." Similarly, Rob Morgan debuted as dedicated Hawkins lawman Calvin Powell before going on to appear in acclaimed films like "Mudbound," "Just Mercy," and "Smile." And should "Outer Banks" fans ever decide to revisit season 2, they might be surprised to see Madelyn Cline (who was only just terrorized by the latest hook-wielding fisherman killer in 2025's "I Know What You Did Last Summer") playing Tina,...

Rumor: Ryan Reynolds' Avengers: Doomsday Status As Deadpool Gets Another Big Update
Image
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 were two rare fan-pleasing successes for 20th Century Fox, so when Marvel Studios regained the rights to the X-Men franchise, it seemed inevitable that Ryan Reynolds' Merc with a Mouth would eventually enter the MCU.

That finally happened with last summer's Deadpool & Wolverine, a $1.4 billion mega-hit that finally opened the door to R-rated storytelling from the Disney-owned Marvel Studios. Since then, all eyes have been on when and where Wade Wilson and Logan will return.

After that run-in with the Tva, they've both made a permanent home on Earth 10005, a reality we anticipate visiting in Avengers: Doomsday when Earth 616's Mightiest Heroes clash with the X-Men.

Earlier this year, Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld severed ties with Marvel Studios in a series of rants across social media and his newly launched podcast. Feeling disrespected by the studio and its President, Kevin Feige, the prolific comic book writer and artist laid out his grievances for the world to see.

Ultimately, those boiled down to not getting a prominent enough mention in Deadpool & Wolverine's opening titles, while he perceived his lack of invitation to the premiere's afterparty as a move "meant to embarrass, diminish, defeat me."

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Has Now Passed The $500M Mark At The Global Box Office
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has now passed what will be its final box office milestone. The Marvel Studios reboot has taken in just over $505 million worldwide on a reported production budget of $200 million (some reckon it was closer to $225M).

This means that First Steps should just about turn a profit, and has performed significantly better than both of Marvel's other 2025 releases, Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*. Even so, it's difficult to imagine the studio being overjoyed with this result, as analysts believe Kevin Feige and his execs were hoping for a Deadpool and Wolverine-size smash hit (or close enough) with this one.

Still, Marvel/Disney are...

September 12 Will Be a Good Day for Fans of One of A24’s Most Daring Projects

With August ending soon, streamers, as expected, already have plans to add some new titles and remove some. Netflix has since rolled out its departing titles, but has recently announced the incoming ones – similar to Peacock, the free streamer Tubi, Amazon Prime Video, and, of course, HBO Max. And so far, the additions are to die for, most especially that of HBO Max, whose September catalog features one of the best films of 2025.

Distributed by A24, the indie company widely known for the originality and artistic style of its films, this 2025 movie is based on real experiences and tells an unflinching, raw story about combat. Titled Warfare, it premiered on...

New ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie Steps Over Final Global Box Office Milestone While Taking Down Tom Hardy’s $110 Million Sequel
Image
To get an idea of just how underwhelming The Fantastic Four: First Steps' box office performance has been, you needn't compare it to this year's two other Marvel movies. All you need to know is that it has only just overtaken a superhero sequel that debuted during a far more uncertain period in 2021. The movie in question is Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the sequel to 2018's runaway hit Venom. Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom 2 concluded its run with just over $500 million worldwide, without even securing a release in the franchise's top-earning territory, China.

What this means is that the disappointing Fantastic Fourhas passed what will likely be its final box office milestone.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Concept Art Shows Reed Richards Making Better Use Of His Stretching Powers
Image
The Fantastic Four: First Steps finally did right by Marvel's First Family on screen, but it would be wrong to say that there weren't some nitpicks.

Chief among them was the portrayal of Mister Fantastic's powers. Reed Richards' stretching abilities were dialled back and grounded in reality, an interesting decision on filmmaker Matt Shakman's part that, unfortunately, robbed us of some incredible visuals.

In a new piece of concept art from The Fantastic Four: First Steps, artist Dipankar Talukdar has pushed the limits of what Reed can do. As you'll see below, the hero wraps himself around Galactus' arm while holding Franklin's protective pod in one of his hands.

The Fantastic Four's Female Silver Surfer Was Inspired By This Star Trek Character
Image
There's a lot of overlap between the Fantastic Four and "Star Trek. Both franchises are pulp sci-fi born from the 1960s "New Frontier" optimism that the stars were within our reach. "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" director Matt Shakman understands that. Before he signed up for "First Steps," Shakman was even going to direct a "Star Trek" movie, and it still feels like he was getting the "Trek" out of his system when making this one. "First Steps" portrays the F4 as astronauts more so than any previous movies. They even take a starship ride to seek out the planet eater Galactus (Ralph Ineson), after his herald the Silver Surfer...

One of the most exciting casting announcements from Doomsday is the return of the legendary Sir Ian McKellen as Magneto, with the veteran actor and six-time Olivier Award winner stepping back into the role for the first time in over a decade.
