Poorna Jagannathan is known for multiple powerful performances, and one of them was in HBO’s The Night Of. Now, she is stepping back into the world of suspense and crime, but this time for Apple TV+. The famous Indian-American actor has joined the cast of Joona Linna. It is a gripping psychological thriller show adapted from the bestselling crime novels by Lars Kepler.

In the 10-episode thriller, Jagannathan will portray Quinn, an experienced FBI agent from Washington, D.C, whose arrival in a Pennsylvania town will shake up a complex investigation. The show will follow Jonah Lynn, portrayed by Liev Schreiber, who is looking for peace after years of working as a detective in Philadelphia.

But tranquility for this ex-soldier proves elusive when a serial killer named Jurek Walter targets his family. As the hunt begins, Quinn will have to work with Jonah to navigate the small community while confronting her demons.

A League of Their Own, based on the movie and a true story, was renewed for a final season with only four episodes for closure, but it has also been canceled. The news comes despite the fact that Amazon renewed the show for a second season back in February. The series, based on the William Gibson novel of the same name, debuted on Amazon on Oct. 21, 2022.

It starred Chloë Grace Moretz and hailed from executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan under their rich overall deal with Amazon. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the decision to not move forward with the second season was heavily influenced by the ongoing writers and actors strikes. In essence, even if the show was to go back into production soon, Season 2 would not be available until close to if not into 2025.

Per the official logline, the series “centers on Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America.

The Peripheral is sticking around at Prime Video.

Amazon confirmed a renewal for The Peripheral Season 2 on Thursday.

The drama from Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan stars Chloë Grace Moretz and is based on the novel of the same name by William Gibson.

“The Peripheral,” the sci-fi drama starring Chloë Grace Moretz, has been renewed for a second season at Prime Video.

Amazon is returning to The Peripheral.

The e-commerce giant and streamer has renewed the futuristic drama from Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonah Nolan for a second season.

The series from creator Scott B. Smith is based on William Gibson’s 2014 book of the same name and premiered its eight-episode freshman run in October with a pair of episodes before wrapping its season Dec. 2.

The series made Nielsen’s top 10 streaming chart once, the week of its finale, when its 394 million minutes ranked eighth among original series. Amazon, like other streamers, does not release viewership data like completion rates, etc.

The Peripheral is the first series that Joy and Nolan developed via the nine-figure overall deal the married duo signed in April 2019 with Amazon. The drama hails from Warner Bros. TV, where Joy and Nolan had been based prior to their move to the streamer.

The series, based on the William Gibson novel of the same name, debuted on Amazon on Oct. 21, 2022. The series stars Chloë Grace Moretz and hails from executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan under their Amazon overall deal.

Scott B. Smith developed the series for television and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Nolan and Joy executive produce via Kilter Films. Vincenzo Natali serves as executive producer and director, with Athena Wickham and Steven Hoban also executive producing. Amazon Studios and Warner Bros. The Prime Video series, which is adapted from William Gibson's 2014 book of the same name, also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Jack Reynor, Gary Carr, Louis Herthum, and Alexandra Billings. The show hails from Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with Vincenzo Natali executive producing and directing four episodes of the eight-episode season 1.

As of right now, Prime Video has yet to renew The Peripheral season 2, but the sci-fi epic took over the top spot on the streamer from The Rings Of Power shortly after its release. The series also received generally positive reviews.

When it comes to tackling time travel on the big screen, one could say Jonathan Nolan is something of an expert. The “Dark Knight” screenwriter spent years researching the practicalities of time travel for his 2014 film “Interstellar” (directed by his brother Christopher Nolan), to the point that he became something of an expert on the subject through the project’s lengthy development.

Which is why, when he read William Gibson’s 2014 book “The Peripheral,” Nolan was both excited and annoyed.

The story, which is now a Prime Video series produced by Nolan, concerns a young woman living in near-future America named Flynne Fisher (Chloe Grace Moretz) who, when plugged into an Ar device that looks like a video game, is able to transfer the data of her mind to a distant post-apocalyptic future and pilot a host robot body.

Amazon Prime's The Peripheral is a new sci-fi series starring Chloë Grace Moretz as Flynne Fisher, a young woman who travels to Earth's dark future by inhabiting a robot, the titular Peripheral - though only she appears to get side effects from this. In London circa 2100, Flynne becomes embroiled in the conflicting interests of Lev Zubov, (JJ Feild), Wilf Netherton (Gary Carr), Dr. Nuland (T'Nia Miller), and the Research Institute, all of whom are searching for a mysterious woman named Aelita West (Charlotte Riley). Aelita, who had been working for Lev, provides Flynne with the means to travel to the future via Peripheral and was collecting information from the Research Institute prior to her disappearance.

Because Aelita went back in time to make contact with Flynne, The Peripheral is split between Aelita's timeline and the "stub" - Flynne's timeline, which was created due to Aelita's interference.

The Peripheral episode 3's grandfather clock password leaps from left field, but the twist is cleverly foreshadowed. The final sequence of The Peripheral episode 3, "Haptic Drift," sees Chloë Grace Moretz's Flynne Fisher and Gary Carr's Wolf/Wilf Netherton explore the missing Aelita's abandoned hideout. Flynne notices an anachronistic stopped grandfather clock exactly the same as her own back in 2032, except the Fisher house's clock is stuck at 2:15. When Wilf turns the hands of Aelita's version to the same time, a hidden doorway opens. If only all passwords of far-future revolutionaries were so easy to decipher, the Research Institute may not be chasing Flynne all across 2100 London.
