Industry Season 4 Wraps Filming In Celebratory BTS Video
Image
Industry, one of the best HBO shows currently airing, just wrapped filming its fourth season, which means you have plenty of time to catch up if you aren't already watching this masterpiece. Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry follows a group of twenty-something London bankers in the high-pressure world of finance.

Starring Marisa Abela, Myha'la, Kit Harington, Harry Lawtey, and Ken Leung, the series became a genuine word-of-mouth hit for HBO, increasing in ratings and critical acclaim over its first three seasons. Though it takes place in the world of finance, Industry is concerned as much with the personal lives of its characters as it is their professional lives, culminating in a barn-burner of a third season that earned 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now, in a video posted to his Instagram story, creator Konrad Kay has revealed that Industry season 4 has wrapped filming. In the video, as the wrapping...

The Obscure Spike Lee Movie Crime Thriller You Forgot Anthony Mackie Starred In
Image
Long before he was taking to the skies as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's second Captain America, Anthony Mackie appeared in an overlooked Spike Lee TV movie. Lee, of course, is known for movies like "Do the Right Thing," "Malcolm X," and "BlacKkKlansman," and a filmography that has typically been concerned with themes of race and racism in America. A prolific filmmaker, many of Lee's movies have earned the director international acclaim and have seen him work with stars such as Samuel L. Jackson, Wesley Snipes, and Denzel Washington. Anthony Mackie's work with Lee took place before the actor was the blockbuster star he is today, though.

Mackie is best known for playing Sam Wilson in the MCU. Originally introduced as the Falcon in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and generally regarded as one of the McU's strongest entries, Sam went on to become Captain America after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans...

Ryan Gosling's Second Space Film Project Hail Mary Is Setting Records Before It Hits Theaters
Image
Amazon MGM Studios is riding the high of recent success. The studio has just declared that two of its projects are doing extremely well: the already-released The Accountant 2 and the upcoming sci-fi film Project Hail Mary.

The same day, the studio revealed it has another successful title — one that's over a year away from its premiere, Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary. PerDeadline, a week after the trailer's release, Project Hail Mary just broke a record for an original (non-remake or sequel) film with 400 million views in a week.

Ryan Gosling's New Sci-Fi Movie Has Already Broken A Major Record Well Ahead Of Its Spring 2026 Release
Image
Ryan Gosling's new sci-fi movie has already broken a major record well ahead of its spring 2026 release. Gosling first carved his name into cinematic memory with The Notebook, a tender love story that captivated audiences. From there, he unveiled his dramatic range in Half Nelson (2006), a haunting portrait of a troubled teacher that garnered him his first Oscar nod.

Gosling showed his suave charisma in Crazy, Stupid, Love, and his stoic grit in Drive. He danced through dreams in La La Land, which won him a Golden Globe and earned him a second Oscar nomination. His brooding turn in his first sci-fi film, Blade Runner 2049, was followed by his scene-stealing role as Ken in Barbie, which became his highest-grossing release and earned him his third Oscar nod.

Former First Man Ryan Gosling has booked a return ticket to outer space. Seven years after his star turn as astronaut Neil Armstrong in Damien Chazelle's Oscar-nominated biopic, the actor is headlining Project Hail Mary for the directing team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Set for release on March 20, the film is based on a 2021 novel by The Martian author Andy Weir and is one of the most ambitious, effects-heavy releases yet from Amazon MGM Studios. The studio brought early footage of the film to CinemaCon in April as one of the star attractions in its 2026 lineup of movies that will be stopping in theaters before heading to Prime Video.

"Itʼs an insanely ambitious story thatʼs massive in scope," Gosling told the audience. "We tried to put it on a TV once — it didn't fit."

Trailer Launch Sends Ryan Gosling’s “Project Hail Mary” Into High Orbit
Ryan Gosling at an event for Lost River (2014)
Ryan Gosling hurtles 11.9 million light-years from Earth in the first trailer for Project Hail Mary, released online Monday by Amazon MGM Studios. The three-minute spot—set to Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” and lensed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Greig Fraser—balances cosmic peril with wry humor, a hallmark of directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s work.

Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle-school science teacher drafted for a last-ditch mission to reignite the dying Sun. The film also stars recent Oscar-nominee Sandra Hüller, Milana Vayntrub, Lionel Boyce and Ken Leung. Drew Goddard, who scripted The Martian, adapted Weir’s novel; principal photography ran from June to October 2024 at London’s Shepperton Studios and on LED-volume stages that Fraser helped pioneer.

Amazon’s poster last week fixed the U.S. release for 20 March 2026, with IMAX bookings already advertised. Some outlets, including an earlier Wrap item, cite 30 March, but studio materials list the 20th,...

Ryan Gosling has already played a teacher (“Half Nelson”) and an astronaut (“First Man”), but with “Project Hail Mary,” he’s both. That’s right: Gosling is leading the feature as a middle school biology teacher who travels to space to save the universe.

The film, which is based on the bestselling book by “The Martian” author Andy Weir, centers on Ryland Grace (Gosling) who wakes up from a coma with amnesia. He gradually remembers that he was sent to the Tau Ceti solar system, 12 lightyears from Earth, to find a means of reversing a solar dimming event that could cause the extinction of humanity. Ryland has to travel through space to keep the Sun and every other star in the galaxy from dying.

The official synopsis reads: “Science teacher Ryland Grace (Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there.

Ryan Gosling is heading back to space, and this time it’s for Project Hail Mary, a new sci-fi movie based on the hit book by Andy Weir, the same guy who wrote The Martian. The trailer for the film just dropped, and fans are already buzzing about it. The movie is set to come out in theaters on March 20, 2026.

In the movie, Gosling plays Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship. He has no idea who he is or why he’s there at first, but bit by bit, he starts to remember.

Turns out, he’s the only one left on a super important mission to figure out what’s making the sun slowly die. If he fails, Earth could go extinct.

The trailer opens with a confused Ryland waking up on the ship, messy and lost. Then it flashes back to moments from his past,...

‘Project Hail Mary’ Trailer: Ryan Gosling Is a Science Teacher Trapped in Space
Image
Ryan Gosling puts the “not” in “astronaut” in the first trailer for “Project Hail Mary,” Amazon MGM Studios’ adaptation of the Andy Weir novel of the same name. The film hails from “Jump Street” and “Spider-Verse” filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, with “The Martian” screenwriter Drew Goddard on script duties for a story that’s not entirely dissimilar from that previous Weir adaptation starring Matt Damon.

Gosling plays a middle school science teacher whom an international group enlists as humanity’s last hope — he is to travel 11.9 million light-years as Earth faces extinction with the Sun dying out.

Set to Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” and showing off some eye-popping cinematography by Oscar-winning “Dune” and “The Batman” Dp Greig Fraser, the trailer boasts a mix of humor and humanity that is a hallmark of Lord and Miller’s filmography.

Speaking of, this marks Lord and Miller’s first...

With the likes of First Man and Blade Runner 2049, Ryan Gosling is no stranger to the perils of space. Before he goes to a galaxy far, far away, he’s set to return to orbit in Project Hail Mary, which marks the first official directorial effort from Phil Lord and Chris Miller since all the way back to 2014’s 22 Jump Street––though that wouldn’t be the case of their Solo adventure worked out as planned.

Also starring Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub, it’s a Drew Goddard-scripted adaptation of The Martian author Andy Weir’s entertaining novel. Ahead of a March 20, 2026 release from Amazon MGM Studios, the first trailer has now arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: “Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there.

'Saw' Franchise Now Under New Management as Blumhouse Officially Acquires the Rights
Image
Saw is a classic horror franchise that tortures audiences just as much as the characters in its films. From the first installment, Jigsaw becomes as frightening as Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, holding a grudge against his victims that he felt took life for granted and aims to teach them a deadly lesson. With 10 movies in the franchise, not all were hits, but that's something Blumhouse is looking to turn around now that the studio is adding Saw to its horror family. According to Variety, the company which made hits like Paranormal Activity, Five Nights at Freddy's, Get Out, M3GAN, and more has acquired the rights to future films, shows, and other properties of the franchise.

For a franchise of this status, Blumhouse must've paid a hefty sum to snag it; however, the amount is undisclosed. The company bought the portion of Saw that was owned by producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg,...

‘Industry’ Stars Myha’la and Marisa Abela Chart Season 3’s Guilt-Ridden Boat Ride: ‘That Anger Was All Really There’ | How I Did It
Image
One of the most shocking moments of “Industry” Season 3 was learning that Yasmin (Marisa Abela) abandoned her father at sea and that Harper (Myha’la) knew about it.

Flashes back to the fated boat ride were interspersed through much of the season, but the moment of Yas’s choice not to tell anyone when her dad drunkenly jumps off the boat as a joke hits hard. Harder still after previous scenes dove deeper into how bleak their father/daughter relationship had become. Abela said the emotions of the entire trip where still with Yas when she confided in Harper after.

“Yasmin did not want to be alone with this information and with this guilt,” Abela told TheWrap in a new installment of How I Did It, presented by HBO — part three for “Industry” after previous chats with Ken Leung and Harry Lawtey and Sagar Radia. “What was very useful is we...

‘Industry’ Creators on How Their Storytelling and Characters Have Evolved (in Bleepable Ways) and HBO’s “Fantastic Notes”
Image
The traders of Pierpoint were in the London spotlight on Thursday as Industry co-creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay shared some anecdotes and insights into their hit drama at the inaugural SXSW London during one of Thursday’s Screen Keynote sessions.

“We were in development hell on Industry for three years,” Down recalled. “We wrote the first episode like 60 times.”

He lauded HBO for ordering the show and allowing the creators to let the series evolve over time. “It started off as a slice-of-life London thing,” Down shared. “And that kind of unlocked the show.”

Over time, the series and its characters have grown up, the duo highlighted. Down drew laughs, highlighting how Harry Lawtey’s character Robert has gone from a “two-dimensional fuckboy” to the “emotional heartbeat” of Industry.

Kay shared insight on the growth in terms of storytelling that the creative duo went through. He told the audience that “we were interested in,...

Marvel's Worst-Rated TV Show Sits At 11% On Rotten Tomatoes
Image
I'm old enough to remember the 2014 press release wherein Marvel Studios announced all their films for their then-upcoming "Phase Three." The phase, as it was announced at the time, was to consist of "Captain America: Civil War", "Doctor Strange", "Guardians of the Galaxy 2", "Thor: Ragnarok", "Black Panther", "Avengers: Infinity War - Part I" (May of 2018), "Captain Marvel", and "Inhumans". The phase would climax with "Avengers: Infinity War - Part II" in May of 2019.

As Phase Three progressed, Marvel worked out a deal with Sony to make a Spider-Man movie, and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" was shoved into the lineup, released on July 7, 2017. This pushed back the "Thor," "Black Panther," and "Captain Marvel" movies. Phase Three also ended up adding "Ant-Man and the Wasp" and "Spider-Man: Far From Home" to the roster, and changed the title of the climax movie to "Avengers: Endgame." It seems the 2014 press release was only 70% correct.

Most notably,...

‘Industry’ Stars Harry Lawtey and Ken Leung Unpack Viral ‘I’m a Man’ Pep Talk: ‘People Say This Back to Me Now’ | How I Did It
Image
Of all the moments from “Industry” Season 3 to go viral, it came as a shock to both Ken Leung and Harry Lawtey that their trading floor pep talk hit so strongly.

The moment comes after both characters have their own troubling nights. Eric (Leung) spends the evening on a bender and then hits the trade floor wired for a long day riding weird energy. Robert (Lawtey) suffers his own breakdown and visibly cracks at the start of the day. It’s after that where Eric pulls Robert aside and has him shouting the mantra “I’m a man and I’m relentless,” which then resonated with many viewers.

“I remember when we were shooting it it was too much,” Leung told TheWrap during a new installment of How I Did It, presented by HBO — our second for “Industry” after our chat with Sagar Radia. “Too much, too fast, too soon.

HBO's Most Underrated Sitcom Is An Anthology Series With A Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
Stoners have a reputation for being unmotivated, unproductive, and generally bad at getting to work. It's a tough stereotype to break thanks to decades of stoner movies making fun of us for just wanting to have a good time, man. Characters like Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or The Dude (Jeff Bridges) from "The Big Lebowski" make us laugh because their heads are so full of pot smoke that thoughts don't seem to survive more than a couple of seconds before they waft away. It's a funny caricature, but "High Maintenance" strived to be more than just a punchline, and that's why it's one of HBO's most underrated comedies.

Originally created as a web series distributed on Vimeo from 2012 to 2015 before moving to HBO for four seasons in 2016, each episode of this anthology series follows Ben Sinclair's unnamed "The Guy" as he bikes through...

HBO has revealed its Emmy Awards submissions for the breakout third season of Industry.

Gold Derby has learned the network will campaign the drama series in 21 categories, including Best Drama and multiple acting bids for its ensemble cast.

Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay will campaign in the Best Drama Writing category for the show’s fourth episode, “White Mischief,” an hour focused on the abrasive trader Rishi (Best Drama Supporting Actor contender Sagar Radia). The duo also submitted in the directing category for the shocking finale episode, “Infinite Largesse,” which upended the series by shutting down the London trading floor and office of Pierpont, the show’s fictional financial institution.

Also on the ballot alongside Radia in the Best Drama Supporting Actor field is cast newcomer Kit Harington, who played the embattled CEO at a green energy startup and formed a relationship of convenience with Yasmin Kara-Hanani (Best Drama...

Untold Story of How Jason Isaacs Got Commander Zhao Role in Avatar: The Last Airbender
Image
Jason Isaacs once again wowed fans with his brilliant performance in The White Lotus, and it was his other sinister performance that actually inspired the character of Commander Zhao in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Turns out that the character was directly inspired by Isaacs’ performance in The Patriot.

Jason Isaacs would actually go on to play Commander Zhao, who was one of the most ruthless characters in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender. With little to no regard for how the natural world works, Zhao might have been the perfect Fire Nation soldier, but was definitely one of the worst offenders in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The Creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender never expected to get Jason Isaacs for the role Jason Isaacs in The White Lotus || Credit: HBO

In an interview with IGN, Michael Dante Dimartino revealed how they got Jason Isaacs to play the role of Commander Zhao.
