Miles Lmao this irked me more than it should have. I put the book down at that point.

Mortimer It's like deep down he knew he was boring his readers, and yet...I guess he was a doublethinker himself?

Jeremiah Birch That scene is really quite beautiful and tender. When Winston reads to Julia and she falls asleep, it seems to symbolize a certain fragility and authenticity in their relationship. While Winston wants to share his thoughts and his pursuit of knowledge, Julia's reaction adds a layer of complexity to their tenderness and humanity. It’s a moment that speaks to how, even in such an oppressive world, they find ways to connect through the little detailssometimes simply through silent companionship. It feels like a quiet, yet profound, expression of their bond
