A spiritual journey of self-discovery and personal growth along the ancient Way of St James, a christian pilgrimage route that was famous through all Middle Age, and still persists to this day.
I like everything spiritual, but this felt more on the religious side, and that doesn’t appeal me that much.
All of Coelho’s works tend to be spiritually revealing, although after reading many of his books eventually they all end up feeling more of the same to the point that the only thing that truly makes a difference is the story. And sadly this one didn’t. It’s interesting alright, but lacks that 'mind blowing' effect that characterizes many of his other works.
I LOVED Veronika decides to die and can’t recommend it enough, but can’t recommend this one. The Alchemist is also good.

Un viaje espiritual de autodescubrimiento y crecimiento personal a través del antiguo Camino de Santiago, una ruta peregrina cristiana que supo ser famosa durante toda la Edad Media, y que persiste aún al día de hoy.
Me gusta todo lo espiritual, pero esto se sintió más de lado religioso, y eso no me atrae tanto.
Todas las obras de Coelho tienden a ser espiritualmente reveladoras, aunque después de leer muchos de sus libros eventualmente todos terminan pareciendo lo mismo hasta el punto que lo único que realmente destaca es la historia. Y lamentablemente esta no lo hace. Es interesante, pero carece de ese increíble efecto “vuela la mente” que caracteriza muchas de sus otras obras.
AME Veronika decide morir y no me canso de recomendarla, pero no puedo recomendar este. El Alquimista también es bueno.

Gracias Myriam! El título del libro en español es "El peregrino". Aunque también es conocido como "Diario de un mago". Creo que todos los libros de Coelho son una especie de viaje de autodescubrimiento, con un mensaje al estilo libro de autoayuda, implicito o explicito. O al menos así me pareció por los cuatro que leí. El Alquimista es bueno y cortito, tal vez lo relea para escribir la reseña uno de estos días, porque del libro recuerdo poco y nada xD
