Jeffrey Gao I guess I take the fourth option which is someone who learned about Iwasaki's lawsuit against Golden and dislikes Memoirs of a Geisha.

BirdBuddy If "twisted western stereotyping" is what they call making good fiction then I want more of it.

Well, Arthur Golden is a fraudulent ruined of life, character defamer, and spreader of misinformation. He doesn’t deserve your support in the slightest.

Leni Iversen Oh wow. Memoirs of a Geisha was on the Kindle Daily Deal a while back, so I grabbed it because it's on the Boxall list, even though the whole thing smacks of cultural appropriation to me. Currently Geisha of Gion is 99p so I guess I'll grab that one too and read them together.

Jeffrey Gao There is no such thing as “cultural appropriation!” Culture is not property. Golden’s failure was breach of contract, character defamation, and malicious destruction of cabbages.
