Courtney Lindwall I idolize Richard Dawkins.

Trevor I'm struggling with this one though - must get back to it. I still think he goes too far with his love of the gene, but he knows much, much more about this stuff than I can ever hope to.

message 3: by Cassandra Kay (new)

Cassandra Kay Silva I love Dawkins as well. I just downloaded the selfish gene (I know I am behind the times) so we will see how that goes. May I also suggest if you are interested in genetics the author Matt Ridley. His writing has a bit of a different style than Dawkins but very readable and chock full of good information. He has a number of books on the subject.

Karl-O In the preface of The Selfish Gene which I'm currently reading, Dawkins said that this probably is his finest work, though this 2nd edition preface is written in 1989.

Elizabeth Redmond I'd read Dawkins books in chronological order...I stopped with this as I have no scientific background... it was too difficult to research and read with fluidity.
