While I wasn't intensely emotionally invested in the story I did love the writing and the pacing. I appreciate how E. Lockhart was able to tell such a mysterious and well crafted story in so few pages. That aside I really enjoyed it and I am excited to read more E. Lockhart....more

Wow. I bought this book because it involved bigfoot and what I got was a survivalist story with bigfoot horror/thrilled aspects. A pleasant surprise! Max Brooks always has such a wonderful way of building up suspense and I truky grew to care about this community and their safety.
If you are a fan of survivalist books and you don't mind some more mythical based thriller aspects I cannot recommend Devolution enough!...more

This was my first Christina Lauren book and I am unsure of how I feel about it. On one hand I liked the idea behind it and the writing style and on the other hand I did not connect with any of this story and the romance was extremely boring. I wanted the story to pull a 180 and for the character to realize the other brother was the correct choice but instead the book refused to get messy and kept the perfect easy choice. I do plan on checking out more Christina Lauren in the future though because the writing was so so addictive...more

I love this world and this family so much, Lula was every bit as flawed and loveable as Alex and I loved learning more about rose and cannot wait to hop into her book. This was so stressful and fun and delightfully written. Nova is still my favorite character, I would take at least 15 bullets for him. I loved seeing his dynamic with the family shift as he fell into the role of being the angry older brother. I loved the zombie story and how dark this book got. The only reason this isn't five stars is because I thought that the beginning was very slow but once the book got going I could not put it down. I need book 3 immediately!...more
