Damnnnn I'll miss this series soo much. I finished the whole trilogy in less than two days! Just imagine the profoundly evident effect it had to me. I forgot everything, from eating to sleeping.
And this series couldn't have been any more perfect.
Susan Ee, I really don't have any idea how you managed to create such perfection but whatever and however you did it, hats off to you. This has to be my favourite dystopian series up till now. Period.
Miss Ee did a wonderful job again with her plotline and the way she portrays any scene with such realism and power, it's amazing. And I really have to say, all the characters are so lovable.
Penryn and Raffe obviously are on my top list just as everyone else's. But Mom and Paige, oh my god, oh how much I will miss them. After the first book. I was a bit apprehensive about my views on them since I didn't know how to deal with Paige with her new monstrous self, and Mom with her retarded life but as I went through the the next two install, wants I got a better grip on their characters and personalities and by the end, I LOVED THEM. Especially Paige <3
And moving onto our OTPs - Penryn•Rapheal. Really how am I ever going to find myself a guy like Raffe? He is the definition of something beyond perfect. And I am never going to get tired of his sarcastic comments, his adorable taunts but also that caring and loving attitude towards Penryn.
The Romance between them, I absolutely have no words for it. It sent me reeling. Yes, we so have some nice hot romance. The book was a perfect blend of action and romance.
“I have better things to do.” “Like what?” He opens one eye and looks at me. “Like convince a stubborn girl to admit she’s madly in love with me.” ― Raffe
I seriously have no idea where to start. Personally I have been getting pretty awry of dystopian YA lately. But then I decided on trying another series since I had heard a lot of positive reviews about it and I can swear on anything and everything, it wasn't at all dissapointing like the dystopian series tend to be in my case. In fact I can say that it is one of the best reads ever.
From plot to charaters to the character development and the ending was just superb. I love each and every single character in the book and that was what was the best about it. I didn't really come across any annoying character in the book that just makes you want to face palm yourself or hurl the book outside the window (except the villains ofc).
Penryn is a perfect protagonist. I really like this sort of main character. She actually seemed realistic. No, she is not naive or dummy sort of girl like Bella. Yes she is a bad ass but not enitrely. I like the flaws, she puts up a brave front but after all she is just a teenager who has been burdened with too much of responsibilities . And I really love he way she lacks the quality of witty comebacks, always making her a bit awkward in front of Raffe.
RAFFE. OH MY GOD, he is the total cstjfsiyagiywgiaugyuaguagiaygaihgyevidv!!!!! sort of guy. His sarcastic but hilarious aura was just beyond perfect. Not to forget to mention his sexy swoon worthy Badass Angel self <3 he is the type of guy that every girl would yearn for.
Raffe and Penryn moments were absolutely worth reading. It was utterly realistic, goddamn funny and the kind that gives you chills. And their character development was beautiful.
Paige, I don't know why but I can't help myself but love her . I won't give away spoilers but after what happened it really broke me and Iam moving on with a lot of hope to the next book. I really wish stuff gets better for her :(
And then we have the mother who is an entirely different story altogether. I really have no opinion about her. Guess I'll have to read the rest of the books to get a better judgement of Her.
And the book kept me so on hook that I finished the book in hours. Really, it was soooo goddamn good!! Susan Ee, I love you for his book. <3 ...more
