Hawaa Ayoub, author of When a Bulbul Sings, has experienced the traumas of forced child-marriage first hand. She hopes to raise awareness through writing about child-marriage.

She lived in Yemen for nineteen years, the first eight years in a remote region whose inhabitants hadn’t changed their way of life since ancient times, in an area at the time inaccessible to outsiders including Yemenis from outside the region.

When a Bulbul Sings is her first novel.

She writes about forced child marriage in a bid to raise awareness globally to help towards ending child-marriage in Yemen and other countries where millions of underage girls are either forced or entered into underage marriage. Having gone through forced child-marriage to an adult, Hawaa Ayo

Back with Biblical News

Dear All,

It has been a long time since I used Goodreads, and it is good to be back. I have been away from all social media due to my latest book which has kept me extremely busy: Revelation: A True Translation of the Bible.

In 2016 I made an astounding discovery which both amazed and baffled me, as it wasn’t hidden but in plain sight. The Bible’s original language is Arabic. Every name of person an Read more of this blog post »

Dear Kelly H., I just saw your message . I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I don't think any words I could say would comfort you. Don't worry about replying, as you can see, I too have been away from all social media including Goodreads. I hope the PTSD, anxiety and depression lessen, and I hope you and your granddaughters will be well. Please accept my condolences.

Kelly (Maybedog) Thank you for the friend request! I apologize for taking so long to reply. I've spent the past two and a half years being sole caregiver to a special needs daughter as well as my toddler granddaughter (from another daughter). After the toddler moved to live with her father, my special needs daughter spiraled downhill and required my help almost 24/7. Then last June I witnessed my daughter's death from a self-inflicted gun shot wound and have been suffering and coping with serious PTSD, anxiety and depression. I haven't had the emotional bandwidth to be active on here for a long time. I'm still not here much but I didn't want you to think me rude for ignoring you. I had a very good reason. :)

I look forward to sharing books with you. It sounds like you have also been through hell. I am very interested in reading your book.

Thank you for accepting! Out of the Stephen King books my favourite is Four Past Midnight. What was the first book of Stephen King you ever read?
