Kevin Kuhn lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with his wife Melinda and three children. He is a University Lecturer who enjoys sipping cheap bourbon, avoiding yard work, and living vicariously through his children's sports. While Kevin has no musical skill whatsoever, he appreciates a broad spectrum of artists from Pink Floyd to Prince and Radiohead to the Rolling Stones. His golf game is horrific with flashes of mediocrity. Kevin is proud to be a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA).

It’s an illusion. As a writer you get to take as long as you like to develop your story. You get to agonize over a chapter, or a paragraph, or a single sentence for days or weeks or months. You get to rewrite over and over and over. Like a painter, you can create your base story and then add more depth and details over time. You get to find *most* of your mistakes and your inconstancies and fix them before a reader sees the first word. But the reader gets it all at once. They have the illusion that you created it in a single stroke. That the story and characters just flowed out your fingers in a single moonlit evening. That is the trick. And that is, at least for me, one of the best things about writing.(less)

I want a reader who’s ready to leave their day behind, take my hand, and lose themselves.

I want a reader who can see the possibilities but is willing to travel my path.

I want a reader who’s willing to laugh out loud in a crowded, quiet room.

I want a reader who seeks the inferences, and the connections, and the questions.

I want a reader who writes in the margins and underlines their favorite phrases.

I want a reader who’s brings their own lens and finds their own interpretations.

I want a reader who's open to new perspectives and finds themselves a little changed at the end of the journey.(less)

“Fear should be an advisor whose counsel is weighed carefully, not a leader whose commands are followed blindly.”
Kevin A. Kuhn, Do You Realize?

“Seek out the things on the edge, the things in balance. There's a reason why we see beauty in the sunrise and the sunset, in the change of the seasons, and where the land meets the sea.”
Kevin A. Kuhn, Do You Realize?

“Not all the best memories are happy memories. Sometimes when you learn about the world, it’s through pain and loss.”
Kevin A. Kuhn, Ten Tales of a Dark Tomorrow

“Fear should be an advisor whose counsel is weighed carefully, not a leader whose commands are followed blindly.”
Kevin A. Kuhn, Do You Realize?

“We don't live our lives with this much order and control. To represent them in death like this is a lie. A proper cemetary should have big, gnarled trees among crumbling angel's and weathered tombstones arranged haphazardly. The grass should be littered with clover and worn down to dirt in places. Not like the manicured, rootless sod in this place.”
Kevin A. Kuhn, Do You Realize?

“There’s more to this world than science. There’s more than just the things you see, touch, and feel. There’s not much magic left in the world, and if some people had their way, it would all be gone. But if you open your mind, you can still find bits of it. Every time you see a rainbow, every time you watch the sunset, and every time you remember a dream – they’re all little glimpses into what’s beyond our world.”

Shanereads Thanks for accepting my invite!

C. (Comment, don't blank click reviews). Kevin, I thought of how to word my review to cryptically refer to the many elements I love about your novel. I naturally can't wait for your comment to enjoy your reaction to my genuine praise and gratitude. It could not be just another novel to me this tough year 2021 and reading it now was a timely release, as well as a pleasure. Sincerely, Carolyn. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Kevin Kuhn Friends,

Very excited that Kirkus has completed a review of my novel and I'm very pleased. Take a read.

If you're not aware, Kirkus is one of the few remaining major book reviewers. They are well respected in the industry.

Thanks,

Kevin
