Sophie Black

As the Wheeler Centre’s head of publishing she oversaw projects such as the Walkley award-winning The Messenger podcast. She sits on the board of Melbourne University’s Centre for Advancing Journalism.

Alisha Rouse is editor of Crikey. Previously news editor at news.com.au and assistant editor of Daily Mail Australia, she lives in Sydney but is originally from the United Kingdom, where she worked in Fleet Street newspapers.

Jack Callil

Deputy editor

Jack Callil is deputy editor of Crikey. He is also copyeditor of Meanjin, and was previously digital editor of Australian Book Review. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Saturday Paper, The Monthly, and VICE, among others. He was a finalist for the 2020 Walkley–Pascall Prize for Arts Criticism, and was an emerging culture critic for The Age/Sydney Morning Herald.
