More Than 1,000 Cars Burned in France

From Paul Serran at The Gateway Pundit we get the following. More Than 1,000 Cars Burned in France, as New Years' Eve 'Celebrations' in Europe Turn Into a 'Fireworks War' Between Migrants and Police (VIDEOS)

Among the multiple problems, there’s the fact that the New Years ‘celebrations’ have turned into an excuse for violent migrants to attack police, firefighters and commons citizens with fireworks, turning it into a war.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Hat tip to Miguel Gonzalez: And in case you did not already know...

Europe has fallen.

Remember this when they say we should be more like Europe. Of course maybe we are moving in that direction anyway.

They Accuse the Conservatives of Subverting Democracy

But it is the liberals, specifically the UK Labour government, that are canceling elections. From the BBC: New mayoral elections to be delayed in four areas of England

Elections for newly-created mayors will be delayed in four more areas of England, the BBC has confirmed, pushing back regional devolution plans.

New mayors were expected to be elected in Greater Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk, Hampshire & the Solent, and Sussex & Brighton in May next year, but will now have to wait until May 2028.

The need time to organize, or something.

Opposition parties are crying foul, and it is odd that the plans are changing just as membership in Labour seems to be on the decline.

From the Financial Times: Labour membership plummets since general election

Nigel Farage’s populist Reform UK becomes the largest political party by members

That's not suspicious at all. The guy who was the face of Brexit, which the right-thinking technocrats in the government hated, is now head of a popular political party. Well, we can't have elections under those circumstances. The "right people" might not get elected.

The Labour party has lost about 100,000 members since last year’s general election, underscoring the dramatic fall in Sir Keir Starmer’s popularity and the surge in support for smaller parties.

This is against a backdrop of the British and the French telling people that they might have to face a war with Russia.

From the BBC again: Outcry at army chief's warning France must prepare to 'lose children' in war

The French don't want to fight wars. That's why they started the Foreign Legion. (Does that still exist?) That's why they pretend to support NATO.

A stark warning from France's new army chief about the country "losing its children" in a potential war with Russia has sharply divided political opinion.

Gen Fabien Mandon, who took over as army chief-of-staff in September, told a congress of mayors on Tuesday that France's biggest weakness in today's dangerous times was the lack of a will to fight.

And it isn't just France. From Sky news: UK 'rapidly developing' plans to prepare for war

Underlining the role civilians would have to play in a major conflict, Al Carns said armies, navies and air forces respond to crises but "societies, industries and economies win wars".

Al Carns is a Member of Parliament, and was a Colonel in the Royal Marines, and is now in their reserves.

I would have to do some serious research, but my guess is that neither the French or the British military are in any state to fight against Russia. For decades NATO countries have not met their commitments to funding their military budgets to the levels specified by NATO. They just rely on the US to foot the bill. Germany has been particularly lax, so that at one point before the COVID lockdowns, the German military didn't have enough guns to outfit the German army. Poland, and one other country that I can't pull out of memory, were meeting their commitments during the 1st Trump administration.

Looking back at these stories, two things occur to me.

The first is that the Left is projecting their own attitudes and desires on the Right when they say conservatives are threat to democracy.

And the second thing that comes to mind is ...

Oceania was at war with Eurasia; therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia.
    — George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four

More like Airstrip One every day. And they have an emergency to justify the cancelling of even more elections.

French Politics Manage to Be Even More Screwed Up than US Politics

From CBS News by way of Yahoo: French government collapses as prime minister is ousted

Legislators toppled France's government in a confidence vote on Monday, a new crisis for Europe's second-largest economy that obliges President Emmanuel Macron to search for a fourth prime minister in 12 months.

Prime Minister François Bayrou was ousted overwhelmingly in a 364-194 vote against him. Bayrou paid the price for what appeared to be a staggering political miscalculation, gambling that lawmakers would back his view that France must slash public spending to repair its debts. Instead, they seized on the vote that Bayrou called to gang up against the 74-year-old centrist who was appointed by Macron last December.

This doesn't mean that there will be new elections, though people are pushing for them. (Marine Le Pen for one.)

France is in chaos. So nothing new, really.

Stabbing in Marseille

News from France from Breitbart: Qur'an Quoting Man Shot Dead After Allegedly Stabbing Several in Marseille

35-year-old Abdelkader D. stabbed five people in Marseille, France, while yelling something that sounds like Alan's Snack Bar.

At least five people were injured during a stabbing spree in the coastal French city of Marseille. According to Le Figaro, the incident occurred following an argument between the migrant knifeman and a downtown hotel owner over the lack of payment for a room.

Police initially attempted to subdue the Tunisian national with a taser; however, they were ultimately forced to shoot him down after he failed to comply.

Hat tip goes to Tousi TV and the video 🚨 BREAKING: Chaos In France As Tunisian Migrant STABS Several Civilians.

Bureaucracies Protect Their Own

People on the outside can pound sand. The New York Times doesn't understand that. A French Pedophile Doctor Abused Hundreds in His Care. Why Wasn’t He Stopped?

Years before Joël Le Scouarnec was charged with abusing 299 former patients, he was convicted of downloading child sexual abuse imagery.

You would think that would be a red flag in hiring a pediatric surgeon. The French establishment didn't see it that way.

Of course the French courts didn't follow the law, and so the warning signs were covered up, or at least not sent to the people they should have been sent to.

But there was one clear warning sign: his 2005 conviction after an international F.B.I. investigation that snared thousands who had viewed child sexual abuse imagery. A French court at the time gave him a four-month suspended sentence, but demanded no psychological treatment, as it had for others. Nor did it restrict his medical practice. And the court failed to notify Dr. Le Scouarnec’s medical clinic, despite a law requiring it to do so.

And so even people who knew about the conviction hired him.

He was hired by a hospital director in the town of Jonzac, Michèle Cals, who told the court that the only person who informed her of the conviction was Mr. Le Scouarnec himself. But he arrived with a glowing recommendation from his last hospital, and the health ministry had approved his hiring.

“So what else did you expect me to do? Nothing?” said Ms. Cals, who retired a year after hiring him. “At the time, there were few applications and many vacancies, everyone was looking for surgeons. If he hadn’t been hired in Jonzac, he would have been hired anywhere else.”

There is more. Victim statements. Deflections from more bureaucrats. Another conviction that did NOT result in a suspended sentence.

The New York Times is confused because they believe that Europe is perfect. They pay no attention to the riots on the outskirts of Paris that are so regular, they don't count as news. They pay no attention to the increasing crime, and other problems. They love social programs and gun control, and are blind to everything else.

I can hardly wait until all of our health care is controlled by a giant, unfeeling bureaucracy.

Leading Candidate Banned From Upcoming Election in France

Lawfare is not just a weapon against Trump. It also seems that the powers that be don't really like democratic rule. Marine Le Pen Banned From French Election After Found Guilty of Embezzlement

Weird how this happens after a poll discovered Le Pen would be the front runner in the 2027 election.

Gotta stop the Populists from winning elections.

So much for democratic rule of Europe.

I do not believe in coincidences. Beege Welborn at Hot Air pointed out a significant detail that had been published a day before the court’s decision.

Europe is lost.

As one of the comments noted:

They aren’t even TRYING to disguise their Soviet-style antics anymore.

France to Boost Military Spending

It's amazing how European countries are suddenly interested in paying for military defense. French army's urgent call: boost artillery and defense now

Modern warfare is an exercise in logistics. Can you manufacture and move the material needed to fight a war in a reasonable time frame? For France, the answer to both those questions seems to be no.

According to the newspaper [Le Figaro], the initial additional financial resources will enable the acceleration of already planned deliveries, which include ammunition, vehicles under the Scorpion program (involving universal wheeled vehicles for the military), and optoelectronic systems for naval frigates. However, the French army's list of needs is much more extensive. It is worth mentioning that, according to French analysts, the precision aerial ammunition would only last Paris for three days of fighting.

Three days is an eye-blink in terms of modern warfare.

The flagship product of the French defense industry is the CAESAR (CAmion Équipé d’un Système d’ARtillerie) howitzer, which uses 155 mm caliber shells. Its 52-caliber length barrel provides a range greater than competing NATO artillery. However, production scale is an issue. In 2024 [???], the French company Nexter aims to produce 12 howitzers per month (in previous years, production was only a few units per year).

So I keep asking myself. Is Trump serious about walking away from NATO, or has he finally figured out how to get Europe to pay for more of its own defense, or both?

There is more, including vague plans for new naval vessels, and even talk of spy satellites. Read the whole thing.

Knife Attack in France

This only one of several attacks in Europe in recent weeks. From The Sun: KNIFE HORROR Paris knifeman shot dead as he ‘silently ran at cops with blade in each hand’ days after Mulhouse market terror attack

[Police] said the man was sitting at a bus stop with a knife in each hand.

"When police turned up, he ran towards them, without saying a word," the source added.

One of the officers then used an electric stun gun but failed to control the crazed man.

This incident took place in the commune of Dugny, 7 miles from the center of Paris. A commune is analogous to a township (according to the Wiki).

I saw a video that mentions Taser, but I haven't seen an article that says that is what the "stun gun" was. Anyway, when less-lethal failed to subdue the man, one cop opened fire, striking him once in the chest. He died at the scene despite first aid efforts.

This came a few days after another attack in Mulhouse, France.

As for the other attacks:

It follows a series of attacks across Europe in recent weeks.

Last Friday, a Syrian refugee reportedly attempted to slit the throat of a 30-year-old Spanish tourist from behind in Germany.

The suspect attacked at Berlin's Holocaust Memorial and said he wanted to "kill people out of hatred of Jews", cops have said.

Just days earlier, Germany was again rocked by a suspected terror attack when an Afghan asylum seeker ploughed his car into a group of demonstrators in Munich.

Maybe they will wake up in time, but I doubt it.

No motive has been announced for this crime.

Terror Attack in France

And there is no doubt about the motive. France terror attack: Attacker screaming 'Allahu Akbar' stabs multiple cops in Mulhouse - World News - Mirror Online

Mulhouse, France is roughly 235 miles east southeast of Paris, or about 170 miles northeast of Lyon. It is about 15 miles north of the border with Switzerland, and 7 miles west of Germany.

Michèle Lutz, the Mayor of Mulhouse, said: ‘Horror has just gripped our city. A man attacked passers-by at the covered canal market with a knife, several municipal police officers who intervened to arrest him were also injured.’

There are several stories on this incident, with varying numbers of wounded, but the most current numbers are one dead, two police officers with severe/life-threatening injuries, and three police officers whose injuries are described as minor, though that may only be in relation to guy who got stabbed in the neck.

The arrested man, who also remained unidentified publicly, was on a file containing suspects said to have been ‘radicalised as terrorists,’ said Mr Heitz. He did not have settled status in France, and was due to be deported, having been convicted in the past of ‘showing sympathy for terrorism’.

There is also mention of other terror attacks, that I don't recall seeing in the news, though the US news media is not very interested in reporting on the rise in crime and terror in Europe.

The attack unfolded by the Market Square and canal in the middle of Mulhouse, when it was packed with shoppers.
It follows a series of bomb, gun and knife attacks carried out by Islamic State and al-Qaeda operatives across France.

I will have to go back to reading the European news from sources in Europe.

France Is Lost

They have been worshiping the gods of unbridled immigration for so long, there is no going back. Migrant Who Avoided Deportation Following Rape Conviction Now In Custody For Brutal Murder Of French Teen - The Publica

The French public may FINALLY be waking up to reality, but it is decades too late.

The murder of a 19-year-old student by a Moroccan migrant under a deportation order has sent shockwaves through France, with many calling on the nation to finally crack down on immigration.

On Tuesday, police arrested repeat offender Taha Oualidat after discovering the half-buried corpse of Philippine Le Noir de Carlan in a forest in the 21st Arrondissement of Paris on Saturday.

The "suspect" was recently released from prison, and he fled to Switzerland, where he was arrested. The Swiss don't want him, so he will be extradited to France.

News of Philippine’s brutal murder prompted a public outcry from politicians and citizens, many of whom called on the government to clamp down on deporting migrants with a criminal record.

“Philippine’s life was stolen from her by a Moroccan migrant under an OQTF. This migrant therefore had no place on our soil, but he was able to reoffend with total impunity. Our justice system is lax, our state is dysfunctional, our leaders let the French live with human bombs. It is time for this government to act: our compatriots are angry and are not going to pay lip service,” wrote Jordan Bardella, leader of France’s rightwing party National Rally on X.

It this has an impact on politics, the media - French and global - will decry "the rise of rightwing extremism" because the French population doesn't want to be raped and/or murdered by migrants.

I will miss Western Civilization when it's gone.

The End of Free Speech in France

Free speech. Freedom from government intrusion in your life, and the freedom to think thoughts that are not government approved. Pixy Misa has an important story out of France. Daily News Stuff 25 August 2024: Pour Encourager Les Autres Edition

Pavel Durov, founder and CEO of messaging app Telegram, has been arrested in Paris on charges of... Fuck charges, he's a libertarian and this is France. (Ars Technica)

Durov founded Russian social network VKontake before resigning because... We don't know exactly, but allegedly because the Russian government had assumed de facto control of the company, wanted him gone, and wasn't too fussy about how he left.

The reason? The French government is upset that Telegram makes it possible to communicate ideas not approved by the government. How do you spell "Fascism?"

If you need to read the Ars Technica article, you can find it at the following link. Shocker: French make surprise arrest of Telegram founder at Paris airport

Right wing and crypto influencers are likewise angry over the arrest, writing things like, "This is a serious attack on freedom. Today, they target an app that promotes liberty tomorrow, they will go after DeFi. If you claim to support crypto, you must show your support #FreeDurov it's time for digital resistance."

Freedom is under attack everywhere.

Immigrants Killing Whites in France

Margaret Flavin at The Gateway Pundit - Knife Wielding Gang Murders French Teen-‘We Came to Kill White People!’ Shouted Ethnic Slurs in Arabic During Attack

On Sunday, in the small rural French village of Crépol, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death, and at least 17 other people were injured after an organized gang armed with knives attacked the annual winter ball event.

In the chaos, 16-year-old Thomas was stabbed twice in the chest and throat and died of his injuries.

According to RMX News, the gang reportedly used Arabic slurs for White people as they stabbed several partygoers and are being described as Algerian immigrants.

Apparently they are not on board with diversity=strength.

The media in France, has apparently been silent, because this doesn't fit the narrative they want to push.

The patriots wallpapered the streets of France with their faces in the face of media silence. Another European who enjoys multiculturalism. Then they are surprised when the right-wing parties, which denounce these situations, do not stop growing.

Europe is in deep yogurt.

A Rape Crisis in France

From Frontpage Mag we get the following France: A Dramatic Rise in Rapes by Muslim Migrants

Civilization was nice while it lasted.

In 2016, there were 12,820 rapes in France; in 2020, this had risen to 22,770; by 2021, the latest year for which records are available, there were 30,780 rapes, an increase in one year of 40%. This catastrophic rise corresponds to the rise in the number of Muslim migrants. Remix News reports here on the increase in the number of rapes in France by Muslim migrants, with many of the victims being middle-aged or elderly: “France ravaged by migrant rapes as spate of sexual assaults targeting elderly women sweep the nation,” by Thomas Brooke, Remix News.

The government's response? A coverup.

The French government tries to keep these statistics on Muslim crime from the public, for fear that the truth will enrage the public, and lead inexorably to a victory by the so-called “far right” parties — Marine Le Pen’s National Rally and Eric Zemmour’s Reconquista.

Unrestrained immigration. What could possibly go wrong? Click thru for the details, a couple of cases, and the government's increasingly ineffective actions. (Hat tip to Anonymous Conservative.)

Video of French Knife Attack Censored

Can't have you seeing video that might prejudice you against the narrative. Put it behind a warning? Not good enough. This is something you are not permitted to see. ‘The video is being censored everywhere’ – Shocking video of Syrian migrant stabbing children on French playground deleted across Twitter

Twitter has mass deleted a video of a migrant knife attack in France that saw five children being stabbed on a playground

But Twitter and YouTube are not quite the monopolies that they think they are. And you can find the video on Rumble. Probably other places as well. (The link above has the Rumble video embedded in the page.)

The attack, which was covered by Remix News, shows a Syrian migrant racing around stabbing children, as a mother attempts to push her child to safety. According to press reports, at least five children were stabbed in the attack, including two adults. Two of the children remain in critical condition.

Twitter locked the Remix News account until they deleted a heavily editied version of the video. I wonder if they allow ANY reporting on the incident.

Why the highly newsworthy video was censored is open to speculation. Twitter routinely showcases graphic and violent videos, including police shootings, stabbings and other shocking content. However, the fact that this video shows a migrant stabbing small children, and the political implications of the event, which will likely fuel anti-immigration sentiment for a French population already furious over open borders, according to a raft of polls, could have led to intense pressure on Musk’s Twitter to censor the video.

Sparky Bus Fire in Paris

With spectacular video. Electric Bus Catches Fire After Battery Explosion

It is frightening to think what would have happened with passengers on board.

You really should click thru for the video.

Given the speed with which the bus was engulfed in flame, I think some people would have been badly burned if not killed.

And even some of the people taking video seem to be unaware of how incredibly TOXIC the fumes from a lithium-ion battery system fire are. If you see a battery fire, LEAVE the area expeditiously.

This afternoon, the RATP decided to temporarily withdraw from circulation the 149 Bolloré electric bluebuses that circulate on its network.

Le groupe Bolloré doesn't publish - as far as I could find - a list price for the Bluebus. But I have to assume that 149 such buses, cost a lot. RATP (Paris Transit) has a total of 500 electric buses, in a fleet of 4700 vehicles. Losing 149 will impact things, and they are expecting problems, but they will survive.

But rest assured. The problem is not electric buses, and their batteries, in general. The problem is just limited to this particular bus model. The bureaucrats have spoken.

Two of these buses have burned in about one month's time. One at the beginning of April, and one on Friday 29 April, which is one shown in the video.

The French Role in the Rwanda Genocide

Not that the French want to admit it. A New Report Puts France at the Center of the Rwanda Genocide | The National Interest

There is a peculiar tendency among many progressives and internationalists to blame the United States as responsible for human rights abuses globally. This trend is particularly acute among European intellectuals who criticize the United States for unilateralism, militarism, and disrespect for international institutions.

The irony, however, is they often bare more culpability than Washington.

There are a few examples of various European Counties and their support of dictators, before the article settles on France and Rwanda.

For a review, 1 million Tutsis were executed in the course of 100 days in 1994 by the Hutu government between April 7th and July 15th. Though certain sources will quote a much lower number.

A new report, published April 19th, shines a light on the role of the French in Rwanda.

That the French government continues to withhold key documents further suggests that the French presidency and the Quay d’Orsay remained engaged in a cover-up of the extent of the French role in the anti-Tutsi genocide. Such documents include the French role in establishing the television stations that incited genocide against the Tutsi, French training of the extremist Hutu militias that engaged in genocide against the Tutsis, and the French presence at checkpoints manned by groups implicated in genocide. [SNIP]

In addition, Muse funds that more than 100 Rwandans complicit in the anti-Tutsi genocide live openly in France, with French judges often considering testimony and evidence provided by their victims for more than 20 years.

The Muse report is 600 pages. I don't think I will try to wade through that anytime soon. But you can find more information at The National Interest article linked at the top.

How do you say "Irony" in French?

Sometimes I believe that there is justice in the universe. Pro-immigration French tycoon and his wife assaulted by four migrant home-jackers

The couple were tied up with electrical cords, physically assaulted and robbed. Bernard Tapie, 78, who was briefly a government minister, has always been a vocal advocate for immigration. And Tapie tried to reason with his torturers to make them aware of this fact. But when Tapie told the attackers that he had always stood up for migrants, one of the torturers replied: “Fuck you, that time is over!”

Couple Set on Fire on French Bus

Not very many news organizations considered this worthy story. Horror moment woman is engulfed in flames after being doused in petrol and set on fire on Paris bus

A 54-year-old woman and her male companion were riding a bus in Noisy-le-Sec, which is an eastern suburb of Paris.

The bus was travelling through the suburban streets of the Seine-Saint-Denis department of Paris.

Several men then boarded the vehicle before one of them randomly sprayed the 54-year-old woman.

Her 50-year-old male companion was also soaked in the fluid.

Both passengers were then ignited.

Police are saying the attack was random - not related to gangs is what that means. Didn't seem too random.

The image below is of a tweet, and its translation, from the Préfecture de Police for the Paris region. (There are 2 such regions in all of France.)

Brietbart lists the Paris suburb as a "no-go" place, which generally means that is an enclave of immigrants who object to women wearing Western fashion, but the news has been fairly scubbed on that score so I cannot tell if it is true or not. Man Sets Woman on Fire on Bus in Paris No-Go Suburbs. If anyone comes across more information on this incident, I would appreciate a link left in the comments.

Protests in Leftist France over "Police State" Law

This is a story that is not of interest to the American Media, or so it seems to me. France: Tear gas fired as protesters rally against police security bill

Protesters are rallying across France against a bill that would make it a criminal offence to film or take photos of police with malevolent intent.

Opponents say it undermines press freedom to document police brutality, but the government says it will protect officers. [SNIP]

Earlier this week footage emerged of three white policemen racially abusing and beating a black music producer.

The images, which show Michel Zecler being kicked and punched at his Paris studio, have shocked the nation.

Cops don't want to be on camera, and the French government is happy to oblige. I mean, if you want to create a Police State, you have to make sure that the police are on your side.

The protests have apparently been going on for a week or so. France riots: Tear gas fired at protestors as anger mounts at Macron's 'police state' law

Amnesty France said in a statement on their website: "If such a law were to enter into force as it stands, it would constitute a serious violation of the right to information, to respect for private life, and to freedom of peaceful assembly, three conditions which are nevertheless essential to the right to freedom of expression.

Communists (and socialists are no different) always want a police state. Shut up and do what we tell you.

Orthodox Priest Shot in Lyon

The authorities are not saying terror, but most people are thinking that. Orthodox priest in 'critical condition' after shooting in Lyon, France

The priest, who has Greek nationality, was closing his church when the attack happened and is now in a serious condition. The interior ministry warned people to "avoid the area" where the attack took place.

As for the terror aspect.

The motivation for the attack was not known last night, but the shooting came in the wake of several grisly Islamist attacks on French soil and a growing tension between France and the Muslim world.

Several deaths have been attributed to terror, including the beheading of a teacher.

Multiculturalism. At least Macron seems to be waking up to the fact that he has a problem. Whether it is too little, too late remains to be seen.
