Gohoubi

1. Finished his proposal.
2. Got some small gohoubi (japanese: reward/present) from him.

3. Plus, he took me to some candle day light brunch at

4. He submitted the proposal yesterday, and was told that his application would be submitted with the next batch since the application for the first batch would be preceded to KPTM this Monday. So, no rezqi yet. Takperla..

5. At 2.30++pm, he was told that the meeting would be held at 3pm if he really wanted to catch up with the first batch, which left him less than 30 minutes to finish his ppt slides. Huh~

6. Due to obviously the lack of time, he had to rely on the proposal itself (in Word) for the presentation.

7. Alhamdulillah. It really recharge my self-esteem since only 3 small-small things needed some modification, i mean, his parts, like narrowing down his scopes of research.
My job was considered good la kan, hubby kan, if not excellent? :P
haha...(obviously lama dah tak kena puji)
except for the expected results which Ive modified-but-he-had-no-time-to-reprint-them...so expectedly, yang tuh pun kena gak (reprint the new one jer la).

8. I have no doubt at all in his ability/knowledge in control and robotic thingy. But i am actually, honestly, sincerely, quite amazed that even in this busy time, he managed to read some lit reviews on the development of telesurgery in Malaysia which i'd suggested. ingatkan dia tak baca... Suspect respect betul
(Hubby, if I butter up you like this, would i get another gohoubi?)

9. This time, it's my turn to reward ourselves with some desserts

There are still many things to do, and I have a feeling that there would be some difficult and busy times ahead of us, but I..

am trying to live one breath at a time.

The Little Helper

Aisyah is the little helper.

1. I'll take the clothes from the higher line while she do the rest

2. She is a bit particular when it comes to cleaning the hidden spots

3. Double-checking on how mama had arranged the fridge

4. She couldnt tolerate a dusty tv set

5. Last but not least, she'll be ready to help papa to hunt for the evil mosquitos

Our little helper wannabe :)

p/s: im glad this time of cny, i dun have to b in kl... i cant stand the very loud sounds of firecrackers until 1am...i actually called the police to report! hahaha... luckily he told me that they're allowed to do so... whatever. annoying betul! i can still tolerate the noise until, say...1am. But 5am?

The Cat Charmer

She loves cats. She loves cats. She loves... cats!

I know some people think that to let a baby/toddler plays with cats is a bit unhygenic whatsoever...which left me wonder, how children during my days stayed healthy and crazy though we poked the ducks' head, yanked the chicks, chased the gooses, and stroke the kittens' tails etc etc. Hmm..

Jannah Part 1

Jannah
Also spelled as Janna. Paradise. A created abode in the Hereafter for those who believe in the Unity of Allah and in all His Prophets and Messengers, and who follow their way of life. See Mursaleen. Jannah has eight gates around it and each of these eight gates has eleven doors. The names of the eight gates are:

  • Bab al-Iman.
Trust, faith and acceptance. Having faith and belief in Allah according to the Qur'an.

  • Bab al-Jihad.
Jihad literally means 'to strive' or 'to exert to the utmost.' In islamic parlance it signifies all forms of striving.

  • Bab al-Kadhemean al-Gaidh.
    those who depress their anger

  • Bab ar-Raiyan.
Those who are pleased with whatever Allah wills for them.

  • Bab ar-Radiyeen.
Gate for the Zaakireen (those who constantly engage in Zikr)

  • Bab as-Sadaqa.
Anything given away in charity for the pleasure of Allah.

  • Bab at-Taubah.
Tawbah basically denotes 'to come back; to turn towards someone.' Tawbah on the part of man signifies that he has given up his disobedience and has returned to submission and obedience to God. The same word used in respect of God means that He has mercifully turned to His repentant servant so that the latter has once more become an object of His compassionate attention.

  • Bab as-Salat.
    Prayers

  • - nak menjahit rupanya memerlukan calculator.

    (hehe..saya budak malas)

Proofread, please?

Here is the snippet of his research...

"Incorporating the sensation of physical touch into a remote robot is a painstaking task since there were quite a number of factors need to be considered, namely the temporal and spatial characteristics of the receptors involved, the saturation that influences perceived sensation of the physical touch, and the lack of understanding of some related neural paths and cortex mapping[2].

Hence, to imitate the dynamic range of touch receptors which was regarded as the fundamental characteristics of the human body, some physical constraints such as object rigidity, mass and weight, friction, dynamics and surface characteristics[3] need to be taken into consideration. This also implies the ability of the control system to generate these important variables which is the first vital step to comprehend the basic of haptic sensing and control as well as the key to the successful design of human-computer interfaces [2]. In the end, the performance is normally evaluated based on the response delay, response time and stability [3]. "

I really need someone to proofread the proposal, i mean the whole, bukan nih sahaja (for free)..huhu.. ada ker? now i miss u gals. Proofread mahal tuh, kat UIA tu rm4 for 1 page (double spaced, margin tak ingat). So basically your thesis was like, normally, 100 pages and above.
RM400 is not cheap!

malass arr nk proofread. hahaha, saya budak malas

A perfect driver- she is

Today i have just discovered, despite Aisyah been refusing to say any words (except for her few fav words- Spongebob, cat, dog, duck, tom-tomback etc, but in her own way la),

Aisyah can...
-get on her tricycle by her own
-get off from it by her own
-can turn the handle to the right or left, wherever she wanted to go to
-can avoid any obstacles on the floor
-can measure the distance to the door/wall etc
-can reverse perfectly, while avoiding any obstacles
-a perfect and extra cautious driver

Dalam hal ni, she's definitely her papa's daughter...
(Thus, made me the only one yang clumsy?)

Thesis Proposal (His)

Him: S*yang tolong tulis proposal untuk abang. Points tu semua abang ada, tapi nak keluarkan ke bentuk tulisan tu sussahh la.
Me: Okey, no prob..

Nevermind that, we talked about this previously so no problem i guess.

Few days ago:
Him: Sayang cari kat internet, tulis yang general dulu pasal research nih. Macam background and problem statements. 'Scope of study' dan 'objectives' tu abang buat sendiri.
Me: Okehhh

Two days ago:
Me: Hmm...boleylaa..

Yesterday:
Him: Nih, buku ("Force and Touch Feedback for Virtual Reality", 339 pages). S*yang baca buku nih bagus. Memang merangkumi research haptic abang.
Me: Err..ok

Last night
Him: S*yang tulong wat milestone utk haptic telesurgery punya development.
Me: Iskk, tu dah masuk literature review, abang kata nak buat sendiri?
Him: Buat milestone tu ja, yang macam timeline etc2...
Me: Okeyyla..(Tsskk. Banyak tuh..)

Tadi
Him: Tolong cari general diagram utk master-slave relation nih.
Me: (After some wasted time and some proposed diagram being rejected) Nih, yang nih boleh kut? Tapi ada label 'courtesy' apa pulak ntah nih.
Him: Takper, nanti abang create sendiri berdasarkan diagram tuh. Simpan dulu. Abang buat nanti.

Few minutes after that...
Him: Sayang tolong wat diagram tadi, padam yang 'courtesy something2 tuh..'
Me: ...

The Net and The Lack

I bought a newspaper today. It's been years since i bought one for myself. And predictably, later that night, he was quite amazed to see 'that' in the living room (if i may call this small empty space as one).
Why in the world do you need one when you can reach hundreds of news and books and magazines online? Yup, why do i need one?
Honestly, I personally think that the news you read on the net are more likely to be

1. Lack of "real"ism - in some cases, it somehow feel unreal.

2. Lack of "seriousness" - i dont know. i used the net since the late 90s. back then, i used the net to get free sourcecodes and read some gossips from Malaysia, and the email of coz. That was it and that was all, i think...hihi

3. Lack of "reliability" - if a SAHM like me can photoshop, what can an expert do? if a school girl can start a rumour on an artist, what can Israel do?

4. Lack of "sensitivity" - Some people thought that the net is the place to develop their alter ego. Fun is no excuse, when it touched the sensitivity of certain races or religion, STEP BACK. No, you cant hide behind your pc (read:ip address).

5. Lack of "knowledge" - There were those days when only scholars and journalists have the opportunity to publish their work to the public (or worldwide). Today, some people has made this world even more colorful with nice/cute/funny stuff etc, which I enjoyed very much.
Im just too tired reading rubbish in scholarly forum or religious topics. Tak larat~ These people can give their own fatwa. Just go and ask them anything. They ALWAYS have the answers.

6. Lack of "mentality" - To argue over a small matter or to brag about some small things are so high school. In real life, i live for a bigger life, thus i simply ignore these pathetic people. But on the net, if i accidentally came across one, it's so stressful la.

The net has saved my master degrees, and help me from being ignorant, and kept me entertained, and... owh, the list can go on and on,
but... (i used this word a lot, i think)
keep it real.

Teleworking

At last, someone in the government, the minister of human resources, said something about the teleworking. TELEWORKING! I am thrilled with the idea of having a graduate mom like me to be able to work from home. I was dreaming about it longggggg before somebody actually brought it to the cabinet.

I cringed to the idea of me working as software programmer/researcher for MIMOS without having to leave my house. (I wish). Well, at least i did finished the C++ programme for my master degree from home. ("Tu jerr?" i heard somebody says)

Im tired of the look-so-noble and revisionist ideas proposed by the ministers to 'help' unpaid housewives or lowly paid employees, which later, everything seemed to stuck in the middle of nowhere before they came along. In my humble opinion, these are all feel good factors, to make the minister themselves feel good. Talk is cheap.

I actually, am not surprised that the idea come from an Indian minister, for the Malay ones, (most of them) seemed so comfortable sitting on their cozy chairs. Oww, some of them were actually busy with this coming election in Terengganu.

I believe that many women out there are actually as thrilled as i am, on this teleworking idea. I'll say I'll wait some more.

That's not hijab! ~cute~

Owwhh...I think this is a very cute video, the guidelines of the misguided hijab attempts presented in a humorous HILAROUS way...

The first author was unknown, thus i cant quote the source. You can google for more. I just retranslate them into pics..
WARNING:LET'S TALK ABOUT WHAT NOT WHO

1.Bang's hijab
Type of hijab that covers the back of the head but proudly exposing the fringe.

2. Tug of a war hijab
The type of, put it on your head in any way you like it. As for me, it looks a little bit messy (if you like the sexy (messy?) type of just-woke-up hair, then this might be the hijab version of it :P). Not much seen being worn by Malaysian women (yet?).

3. The mickey mouse hijab
A hijab worn in a way where it only covers the hair, but yet, the ears peeping out saying "hello world". Earrings are must-show-items.

4. The short sleeve hijab
As the subtitle suggested, it implies a hijab worn with short sleeve tops.
My mandarin teacher, a Chinese man from the Mainland despised the idea of combining short sleeves to hijab, quoted saying
"What in the world is she trying to prove? im wearing hijab, im a Muslim. Im wearing hijab with short sleeve t, im not a good muslim?"

5. The skin-tight hijab
I find these to be sexy (you may not agree, it's a free country). I just couldnt imagine my mother or me wearing like these, hence i said so.

6. The hollow hijab
Hollow = transparent = see-through = can see everything = not hijab

Ewww! a pic says it all.

7. Convertible hijab
When it comes down to your forehead, it's a hijab. As time goes by, it goes up and up and is now converted to half a headband scarf a la Audrey Hepburn. By the time it goes down again, you can use it as a mafla now.

See more funny reminder series from UmmahFilms. Please go through that and this before you judge this article, since this is just a summarized version of the video, and honestly, no offence given.

Should i blur the pics?...grr, i have no photoshop now (using his lappy)
--------------------------------------------

QUIZ:
In the following pic, these hijabi girls will be allowed to attend their daily classes in the university, ONLY IF they take off their hijab. The question is, which part of the world is discriminating our Muslim sisters like that?
a. USA - they fear that we'll hide some bombs under the hijab
b. Denmark - what else to come after their biggest insultation
c. German - Owh, never thought of that
d. France - They hate hijab, that's for sure.

Again, what is your answer?
a. USA
b. Denmark
c. German
d. France

------------
The answer is Turkey..(99% of its population is Muslim)

Liquidation of a Nation

The fastest man on earth needed 9.69 seconds for the 100m dash, as recorded during Olympic 2008.
It took a GPS-equipped 'GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs' only a mere few nanoseconds to kill hundreds in Gaza.

-----------------------------------
The Chmielnicki Cossack pogroms, the Crusades, The Inquisition, the Holocaust, the fall of Massada...

Jews oo Jews, why do people hate such a great, powerful, kind and considerate race?

-----------------------------------
They keep whining over the exaggerated holocaust- my heart goes to the unfortunate innocent people killed - but keep on killing these Jews, please!

(Warning: sarcasm mode. The italic ones were not my words, i kept on seeing these on the net, from ignorant war supporters' comments on the killing of innocent Palestinians)

House Hunting?

Being a village girl, Ive always wanted to have a house on a piece of land - on ours. Be it small and humble, a house built on a piece of land that belong to you, yourself, is such a wishful thought.

I was born and raised in my own prairie, where from the wooden traditional kedah-style hut, one could see the acres and acres of paddy fields that colors the earth from green to yellow to golden brown. And when the hot air that travelled hundreds of yards from the distance and across the plains finally touched my face, it brought along such an undescribable feeling.
The wind was so strong.
The air was so fresh.
The sky was so blue.
And my heart was so calm.
My small hut was my place of solace, serenity, and sanctuary.

As reality bite, I am now a grown-up who prefer to pay for comfort and to twist the metal head for water supply rather than walking all the way to the fresh water source (though it was only 3,4 metres away).

As a city boy, he is used to the ideas of having a house in a proper housing areas with complete (or almost) basic fascilities. Then, few days ago, I shrieked to heaven when he told me that he would go for a 'land hunting' along with few other friends.

Happy as I was, we still need to be extra careful in splashing such a big amount of cash, though with extra caution, we could still afford the 500++ ft squares of land without the bank loans. At a glance, this might be a lifetime opportunity. However, being ever curious me, I started to look for some available info as well as some hidden loopholes and found out that the land was situated in a flood-prone area. To prove my concern, he came back from the 'site-seeing' and told me that they actually had the opportunity to interview a makcik who lives next to the land. The area was hit by the worst flood of 2ft++ depth, last year!

It wasnt a big deal if they really wanted to buy the land, provided that they were willing to treat the soil/land and make it 5ft higher than the available base flood elevation. But then, out of the blue, the neighbourhood including the old makcik's house, would be surrounded by a mini-hill which also means, their land would turn into a floodplain. A dam in another word?

Expectedly, he didnt have the guts to be as cruel as 'Israel' yet. Here we are, still in this small and humble taman.
Allah knows the best. If it wasnt meant for us, than nothing that we can do.

New me

Updating from my daughter's laptop. So please bear with me the unfinished touch-up of my blog's layout and numerous typos. The keypad was the ancient japanese keypad arrangement. The scrolling takes forever let alone the typing...huhu. i cant put all my fingers on the keyboard(im slow, i typed using all my fingers, luckily i have 10 only).and laying my finger on a key for more than 0.01milisecond would result in double entry. so ill be using her laptop for 2 whole weeks.Mine was...not stolen. but left in sister's house. Huhuh...It feels like you r losing part of you.
Nak balas komen pun susah.

So i have few things in my mind. Few things i want to do. I dont really into making new resolution revolution whatsoever each time the year ended, but this 2009 is so gonna be a new start for me.
these are few of them, insya-Allah
maybe

tsk tsk...
man jadda wa jada..
