Buffalo Border Guard & Newcastle Mounted Rifles

The following pictures show 'Empress Miniatures' mounted and dismounted Buffalo Border Guard and Newcastle Mounted Rifles that were used by the British during the Zulu War.
Apart from the British Lancers this is the last of the horse that I need for my Zulu War collection, so my next post I will show the cavalry arm in all its glory.

I recently sold some figures on ebay (see last post) and to my pleasant surprise the name and address of the buyer for the Earl of Moray figure was non other than the family of this famous Earl and the address 'Darnaway Castle'. Do a search on the web for this castle and it gives you the history of the Earl of Moray. So I guess you could say that this little figure is going home.

Medieval Market Building.

This resin building was given to me by my good friend Steve Hall from 1066CAMPAIGN blogspot/Hallmark painting.co.uk
I am not sure but I think it is a TM Terrain building and it is a lovely little model with lots of detail. Once again, I painted this up using household paints and a fairly big brush with lots of drybrushing, so it was nice and quick to do.

Robin Hood and his Merry Men

I had a few unpainted Lord of the Rings characters spare and unpainted which I thought would be ideal to use for Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
Scale wise, these fit in well with Perry or Foundry HYW figures. Some of the pictures also include Perry plastic War of the Roses bowmen.
I just need a suitable Little John figure now.

HYW

Next batch of old pictures are some of my Hundred Year War figures from Perry and Foundry.

As long as I can find the pictures on my computer, I will post ACW, NWF, WW2, NAPOLEONICS and WAR OF THE ROSES before the year is out. My new stuff that I need to take pictures of and will post when I have finished with the above list, will be Zulu, War of the Roses, NWF and some buildings.
